Skullgirls ain't Marvel and Skullgirls don't deserve shit. The only games that deserve shit on this list is Pokken and Marvel. The communities is putting in work to get their game in there by donating.

Everything that melee is today is 100% because of the community.
That's what I thought, but then you said the creators shunned the concept and won't acknowledge it's existence and I don't know how that applies/matters, or why Capcom has to do that (if the "creator" here is Capcom and the MvC franchise), phrased like it's an obligation.

if you recall the original donation drive for melee @ evo, Nintendo tried to shut it down. (after reaching almost 100k in donations, which i dont see any of these games nearing).
AFAIK this is both the only example of a company actively trying to shut down a fighting game event, though id be interested in hearing other examples.

They prob got shook learning just how technical the game is and went into full denial. Contrary to what you hear from twitch chat, there are many players who play both sfv and melee (and other games).

The crossover is not as big as you're making it out to be. I remember several big smash tournaments last year that ran SFV as well and the entrant numbers barely ran into the double digits.

Don't get confused, I still despise Melee. Running an open entry tournament for the game is a joke at this point. Just turn it into an 8-man invitational and save everyone some time. I'm sure the melee community would donate to sweeten the pot too.

Wasnt specifically talking about the big tourneys, more so just the players. Not long ago was watching leffen play sfv on stream, and pikachad plays it sometimes etc|
In my own community, most players play multiple games too
theres just this weird idea that its totally insular, when its just another game thats played with the same fundamentals.
