I feel like pokken would gain more from losing then actually winning.
Pokken has already shown itself to be impressive simply by the fact it is keeping pace with one of the FGC's most beloved games. Even if it doesn't win, it will still have made a considerable impression based on the fact that it did as well as it did.
Now if it wins, I think the rivalry will have made so much salt that even if it has the most intense and exciting tournament with a variety of interesting and engaging players that it will still be stigmatized and downplayed.
This isn't necessarily a comment on the people in the FGC, just on the nature of a beloved franchise competing with an outsider in a bid war.
TL;DR Marvel = Ridley, Pokken = Duck Hunt, Donation Money = Daddy Sakurai?
