Something is really wrong with Marvel when you watch the video the timer was stuck at 00 for the longest time and it was still doing damage to Apologyman.

It's designed that way so that really long supers are still viable in the waning seconds

Just an FYI for those not in the know:
Prog has been dealing with health issues ever since earlier this year at Apex 2014 (he had a cane and was limping around a little). He had a cancer scare after that event which he then sought to get surgery for -- he thought (after the surgery) he would be fine but once May started he began to realize he probably can't commentate much anymore. He already took a long hiatus after RoM7 (Revival of Melee 7).
A few weeks ago at MLG Anaheim he was limping around at the venue and even had to stop commentating early on Day 1 of the event. Throughout that weekend he felt awful but he still commentated for the community.
Cancer runs through prog's family and although he doesn't have it yet (he's been treated for it) he, however, has polyps in his colon. So it's very, very difficult for him to move around sometimes. That's why he said some days he feels like 90% while others he feels like 50%.
He had to retire from commentary for these reasons. D1 was upset because he's barely gotten to commentate with prog all year and it was prog's last year -- they're real close friends and everything.
So now you know. I hope people who were a little ignorant on it read this lol.

Level 3 Supers are allowed to finish before time expires.
Nothing is wrong with Marvel. Something is wrong with Street Fighter, which is why the timer freezes for cinematic supers.
Timer scams are lame. Glad Xian got blown up when he tried it on Snake Eyez.
Timer doesn't stop level 3 hypers from doing damage. That is intentional.

Smash was worth it for Pikachu's 1 minute 4-stock alone.
One can only wonder what next year has in store for Smash at EVO. Should be interesting to see Smash 4. Melee's had a great resurgence and a fantastic run over the years, but let's hope Sakurai can provide the goods that can fill the eternal void where Brawl failed to one-up it.

I never get why people shit on games so much. I feel like just about any fighting game's enjoyable to watch if the matches are exciting enough.

IIRC the KI one was just there being an official KI message board going back up (the previous one died with Double Helix's involvement I think), and I guess the smash one was the achievement award for Prog.

I'd give you the schedule, but Smash threw everything off. After Marvel though there's gonna be a short announcement, and then SF4 if you were wondering.
BB, the first game of the day, started a half hour behind schedule. How is that Smash's fault?
All fighting games are like this to some degree (ignorant watchers don't recognize high level strats), but Marvel is one of the two that brought in the most new stream monsters to the FGC for a reason.
Game has crazy moments happen more than any other FG easily.

It's not. But Smash is why we're way behind schedule instead of a little behind schedule.
Smash was changed to awards on the schedule. Not sure about KI.

Sure tournaments run late, but most GF's are scheduled to start at least say 6pm EST. So if it's 1 or 2 hours late, 8pm EST still isn't that bad. We have Marvel getting that time slot now and with more breaks and announcements, USF4 probably won't start till 11pm EST if I were to guess. Tons of people will bow out by then for whatever reasons like they have to work tomorrow or they actually have to go to work(Europeans).
