Evolution 2017 The Fighting Game Tournament of the Year (Read OP, No Game Whining)

KOF continues its tradition of having a new country win it every year at EVO:

2012 - S. Korea
2013 - USA
2014- China
2017- Taiwan

Looks like my brother drowned in Smash 4 pools. :(

But he got 5th in Puyo Puyo Tetris! Let's go McButt

He beat Ranai too? That's pretty neat.

Were the Tekken semi's worthwhile? Too busy watching everything else so I haven't watched any Tekken yet.

Yes I enjoyed it. Lots of character variety, though they only showed winners on stream. JCDR you can tell basically is playing in top form for this tournament.

Yep! He also uses Wario in Smash 4. Sad he didn't make it out of pools in that since he got 129th or so last year and wanted to see him get farther.

Tough luck, Japanese and Mexican players are really familiar with Wario, and seems like the meta is harder now for him too.

Good matches in many games. Tekken, KOF, tetris. Even SFV had one or two altohugh I didnt see as much top play as I wanted.

Ever since Xavier has been part of the FGC he's leveled up a lot. A huge difference in his play since the first CEO he went to.

LOL at Bas.

Zhi's stream is one of those it's so bad it's good things.

Going up to Punk. LOL. Punk wearing flip flops to a party.

Every year I hope for a great salty suites stream and time and time again I'm disappointed.

I felt like we haven't had a good EVO Salty suite in 7 years.

At least Zhi's stream is hilariously awkward.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed we'll get something good Saturday night since a lot more players should be struck out and looking for vengeance.

At least that's my theory.

He started using his real name on his channel and in those FG tournaments, I wonder if he's contemplating leaving WWE if anything there doesn't go how he'd like! Dude has a YT channel with over a million subscribers, no need to put up with a soul sucking WWE career.

WWE owns the Youtube channel and they give him a flexible schedule. He's fine where he is. Granted it's bizarre in that WWE has never allowed a wrestler's passion project like this to grow so big without them putting their own hands all over it.
