Dont get why there is no more neck protection on a sport when You bassically are exposed to a Lot of Blades all they time.

The incident is similar to the ones that happen on football ( soccer), but without Blades. Also no matter the jury outcome this destroyed the life of everyone involved.

Because in theory there is not "lot of blades all the time" it must be pretty rare that you can karate kick someone on the neck like in this case.

Maybe it is uncomfortavle to wear for players because they need some neck mobility or some shit.

This happened just 3 weeks ago, in the NHL. It would have had the same exact result had the skate connected.

You cannot watch this clip and tell me they're any different, other than the end result.

Look how dangerously close he came to slicing Auston Matthew's goddamn face open. Kicks his leg up while falling. Is he purposely trying to kick Matthews?



Its a fast paced, dangerous game where you skate on fucking ice with KNIVES on your feet chasing a rubber puck.

Unfortunately, its part of the risk you take when you hop on the ice. Players understand that. Fans need to as well.

The only thing we should take from this tragedy is that the NHL needs to make neck guards mandatory.

It's hockey, assholes and dirty players who are fined numerous timed are literally sought after by teams. There are dirty players who are fined over and over, hated by every team except their own. None of them would kick a guy on purpose.

Dirty hits, spitting in guys faces, licking guys, sneaky dirty little plays, running the goalie, punching the fuck out of opponents when they're down, all par the course in this sport. NO one, no matter how bad the reputation, Is kicking someone on purpose with skates. It doesn't happen.
