Explain to me this pony thing

Enter the 36 Chambers has a very unusual love for the Wu-Tang Clan. It's not normal to be into a group that isn't even on the charts anymore. I mean, I listen to old, outdated rappers too, but I keep it to myself, because I know it's not as socially acceptable as listening to Lil Wayne. Enter the 36 Chambers must have some real issues.

Often even people with great jobs and generally great life can be so irrational too in terms of being part of a fandom.
Generally, if you're able to take care of and provide for yourself, fulfill your responsibilities, treat others well, and be happy in your life, then there isn't much else to say.

I give the middle finger to all of you haters! My love ain't something to make fun of. Love is something to cherish no matter if it's for another human being or Sparkledash. I'm going to bed with my lady, suckers.

What a mess. I don't know how one would have enough time to CG yourself into a home-made film with CG pony (it's CG right? Oh God, it's not stop-motion animation using dolls, is it?)

And that plushy.....

You should really stop here, with this post. Really, it's time to stop posting. I'm trying to help you.

Really Junior? This is how you come at me?

You're just reinforcing the fact that you bronys are socially inept. Congratulations.

Never seen an episode. Never met a brony, for that matter. I just sympathize with people who get criticized merely for the crime of being different. As long as they're not hurting anyone, what's the problem? They're clearly harmless on the whole, though there are bad apples in every group.

Are you angry at them because they're too weird, and make you uncomfortable? Why not deal with that discomfort like an adult, instead of being a raging asshole?

Adult who are into bronies and wifu, and people who love moe creep the shit out of me.

They aren't hurting anyone. You sound like the type of person who says gays shouldn't get married because they rub you the wrong way.

Holy shit guy. This is too dumb of a comparison and you should stop it.

For me as a non-brony/non mlp fan, I find it interesting to see how people tend to generalize over that particular fandom. They have nutcases, as do most other shows/hobbies/forums/cities.

Wake me up when they hurt one of you.

didn't I post this earlier?? :P

(yes)

vv: could it be both?
vv: could...it be both. I don't even know why you have his back. He needs to see. His eyes need to be blessed.

I still think all this brony act is a joke and the people that take part of it are trolls. There really is no way that these weirdos can actually like that crap.

^ It's an MLP music video for a Wu-tang track, 36 Chambers. Don't even bother clicking.

I don't know if that was supposed to upset you or make you think MLP is cool. Awkward.

Oh you GAF :) Always the same with you guys act all grossed out by one random fanbase representative (who is most likely a made up person).

No, no "Brony" I know of is like that guy the OP describes (and I know a few, in- and outside of NeoGAF).

Anime fans though...

;)

Oh, unrelated: I just got myself a nice Pinkie Pie sticker for my new car.
Also, I just bought a TMNT figurine. And browsing for He-Man stuff. Worlds implode.

I feel kind of bad for saying this, but I love the community's creations so much more than the actual show.

The Doctor Who parody is awesome, and for some reason I don't feel like I am ten while watching it. I don't understand people that make the show a life style, but then again I don't care.

Like every fanbase, there are the obsessive weirdos and the normals.

I have a friend who's a big MLP fan, but he doesn't consider himself a "Brony". He doesn't really fraternize with that fanbase much and tends to be very level headed. He does collect all the toys though. He tried to get me to understand why he like the show by having me watch his favorite episode. I told him it was very well written and funny at times....for a show obviously made for little girls. Still didn't win me over.

I will say it's annoying because being a Sonic fan, any forums I go to tend to have a huge crossover mix of Bronies (Naruto and One Piece fans as well). The Sonic fanbase is weird enough without mixing the Bronies in there too. XP

I think part of it is that it's like one of those popular "Feel good" and "safe" shows like the Brady Bunch or Glee. Some people just like something very upbeat since most entertainment tends to be fairly dark and edgy these days.

So talking about which wu-tang member is your favorite is like talking about your favorite pony. I never thought of it that way before.

I've never watched a single episode of My Little Pony and don't care about it.

However:

She makes a compelling argument to do so.

I'm kinda drunk and back from watching two episodes of Enterprise. This thread it awesome. It's almost up there with Orth.

You know what though? My Little Pony is actually kind of good, FOR A KIDS SHOW!
Whenever I see 30 year old male adults with merchandise of the franchise on them, I can't stand it. You guys definitely need to control your own fanbase.

The fervor this show - which, based on what little I've seen of it, is nothing special - causes on both sides has always amused me. Such strong emotions from both the bronies and those irked by them. Never would have guessed in a million years "My Little Pony" of all things would get this sort of reaction from people.

That's not surprising. I'm assuming that the community's creations are made for adults, whereas the actual show is made for small children. You should like stuff made for adults more than stuff made for children.

Understandable reactions when you realize the basic root of the disparity is one side being harmless fun, and the other being borderline predatory pedophilia.

The conservative or religious bronies/furries are the best.

How the hells can you be a conservative and a Brony? Doesn't the whole MLP thing involve friendship and magic? Isn't this irony manifest? Guys liking "girly" things are everything that conservatives are against. I can't see Limbaugh or Michael Savage embracing MLP. I guess I'm just missing the whole joke.

No, that's pretty much the entire joke.

It's not as surprising as it is disappointing. I'm pretty disappointed with myself.

turns out that most bronyphobes are actually barnyard poniesl.
that's the term for beastiality folks who are "in the closet" about it
