Notice how you said "black people" but said "South East Asians". Why not make a similar distinction for black people? If you don't know that distinction, either look it up or avoid spanning that trait to black people as a whole.
Well, considering that the majority of South East Asians and around half of East Asians generally do have double eyelids... yeah, it is.

Yeah thus far this is by far the best. The way it successfully changes to the darker skin tone but manages to not turn the skin highlights into a mess at the same time is some nifty wizardry in particular. At this resolution they could definitely all be real people.

The people offended by the idea that not all minorities look the same or have the same features and thus, it's probably a really stupid move to have a feature in an app that implies the opposite are indeed too easily offended.

From a cultural standpoint, it could be insensitive, but it actually has some convincing results so far in this thread.
So far, I'm struck with how all the filters and the original show someone who is clearly a unique individual shared between the 4 shots, just with existing features modified slightly. Hopefully it communicates to others how we're all human and that even becoming a different race, you'd still appear be you. Hopefully it bridges that lack of understanding that exists between races.
Except that Trump one. That guy can't be human, so it's no wonder the filters don't work.

I dont think the versions presented were too racially insensitive but the potential for abuse was far too high with this sort of thing so I understand pulling it before things got out of hand

They pulled it as a result of backlash, people should do more thinking about why that backlash occurred in the first place. Not all minorities have the exact same features so to have a "black filter" makes no sense. It only serves to perpetuate stereotypes. So if someone has an issue with them pulling a stupid feature due to the backlash then those people need more perspective instead of saying "nofunallowed" as if digital blackface is supposed to be fun. Rather, it's better to acknowledge why people had a problem with it in a first place.
There were a lot of complaints basically. Like I said earlier in the thread I didn't see anything wrong with it initially but I will have to admit defeat on this one. Makes me feel a bit of an idiot as I like to think I'm usually on the good side of these debates, but now I just feel like I've participated in racism by supporting it.
I think they probably made the right decision pulling it in the end.
