So, now they greet you with a mini-blog of sorts, that keeps you updated on all the changes and things your friends are doing. Everything. Status updates, photo uploads, profile edits, etc. Very impressive. Not to mention the recent RSS feed link to things like LJ with "notes."

Why the hell can't everyone just use facebook instead of MySpace?

This news feed thing is a bit too much.

However, I agree that with the profile system it has, security options, wall-to-wall, photos w/ tags, and new journal stuff, facebook is the best. I still use xanga for my journaling out of habit, but if I want I can set facebook to use those updates automatically.

People use myspace because you don't have to be in a network, the music stuff, and because they are dumb.

I just can't get into facebook, no matter how I try. But, I hate MySpace, too, so at least I am equal opportunity in my hating.

Ugh.
It updates people on EVERYTHING. :(
It evens tells them what new friends I make in the feed whereas before they would have had to keep a very good track of "my friends" to determine which ones are new. This makes juggling lady friends hard.

....

I don't like this.

Yikes. This is a bit much when it comes to updating people on your life. Next, myspace/facebook will update your friends on what you had for dinner.

I thought this was hilarious when I opened up Facebook this morning.

Now I'm off to stalk everyone before they close their feeds! :lol The most interesting stuff is seeing who declined who (or what).

Yeah, this is weird....I don't like it at all. Way too much information.....how do I turn all this off?

Holy shit. I know a lot of people won't like this. I got no problem with it though. Facebook just got a lot more interesting. :D

After a year using myspace I've figured out what it really needs. It needs a way to categorize your friends list. I don't add anyone to my list unless I know them in person or have known them online for a few years. There does come times when i would like to add someone that either shares a specific interest or like a networking contact. But I don't add em cause I don't wanna junk up the friends list. I just want folders I guess.

It's kinda neat but a bit much. Telling me when and what someone posted on another person's wall is sort of unecessary.

It'll REALLY be funny when you have an option that says "Andrew sent Jill a message. To read, click here" :lol

Personally, I don't mind what goes up.

Isn't Notes (and Status) enough on letting people know what you're up to? How do I edit this Feed thing without setting off a giant Bat signal?

Right, but just like you don't have to use Notes or Status, you can disable this as well.

Meanwhile, while facebook's servers can handle notifying people of all this information without missing a beat, MySpace can't even send E-Mail notifications anymore because it would likely cause the site to go down. Again.

Jado had edited his feed. To read what he doesn't want you to see, click here.

holy freaking crap

welp, i let photo tagging/stalking slide, status updates were annoying, notes was overboard...

but this shit?

im done with facebook, my once favorite and only used social networking site :(

Goodbye internet social networking

I was stalking...er, reading my friend's feed and I see that he added one of my really good friends that I haven't talked to in YEARS.

+1 Mini-Feed :D

broshnat ftw

actually, i don't like this new addition either. it just seems way too cluttered. last year, it was so simple and that was part of the appeal.

The good: Finally knowing what changed in a profile. Nothing like seeing "profile updated" and not knowing what the hell changed. Keeping track of where you commented

The bad: X added Y as a friend. X wrote __________ on Ys wall. Seriously, WTF? It takes all the fun out of spying on other peoples walls.

The only thing thats missing is what Orkut does.....tell you whos visited your profile recently. Stalker exposure FTW (but helps you get on peoples radar)

Me like. Although telling me when a friend of mine who I know casually just made friends with someone else makes me go "Meh. who cares." But its cool how I can keep tabs on everything they do, as before it would say "so and so updated" and wouldn't tell you what they did. Now I know everything! buahahahahahhahahaha!!!

Lol, I found it very funny, because it really allows me to stalk people.:lol Although, I'm going to bet it will all, or mostly be removed in a few days. I'm just going to enjoy it while I can. It would really be funny if Facebook told me every time someone was online, and for how long. It would also be great if it told me which PC they logged into, for I can locate them.

I like the changes, but it's INFORMATION OVERLOAD. If I could choose what does/doesn't show up, I'd be on board.

SKYNET is now fully operational.

And GilloD, you can just click on the minimize arrows.

Yeah, but I'd love to be able to customize the feed like "Just tell me what Joe is up to" or "Just tell me about who's writing on who's wall".

I guess. Well, if you want to know the "history" of someone in specific, they have it on people's pages.

Seriously though, stalkers must be rejoicing worldwide.

So how do I turn it off?

Agreed. It is a metric creep-load of information. I can't believe they just let it all out. Frankly, I'd rather not know.

There is nothing I find lamer in life than this facebook/myspace/social networking shit. We're in an era where everyones most useless shit and thougts are published.

I have a breakup in my friend feed! :lol :lol :lol

Cold blooded! I love it...

Oh yeah? A really gorgeous female friend of mine just went from being engaged to being single. Time to move in...

Someone is lonely.

FACEBOOK MEANS YOU WENT TO COLLEGE.

Which is more than I can say for the doddering fleet of idiots that make up MySpace.

lol i was thinking the same thing. Unfortunatly they are now letting in the unwashed masses

This is disturbing. I want something to exclude me from this bullshit. Sure, someone could stalk me before, but now the ****ing system is doing it for them.

HAHHA

First thing I see when I log in is some distant friend of mine:

"Ryan **** has changed his status from `engaged` to `single`"

This is way too personal.

Pretty much agree with everything that's been said... this is way too much information and only makes stalking easier. I really don't need to know when a friend writes on another friend's wall.
