I love JC Staff shows:

[dat list]

I enjoyed (or in the case of the sequels would probably enjoy) all of the above.

And yet Hidan no Aria is missing from that list. hmmm

I know at least one other person here probably watches Morita, I see the avatar from time to time. I kinda like it, not particularly funny I suppose but it's short enough that I'm not really making a big commitment in watching it every week. I really need a new Azumanga, which was aired in a similar manner.

Got to have my Kana Hanazawa in nice small doses.

I'd love some recommendations if any of you are willing. I kind of quit following anime after college. Be forewarned: I am picky.

As others have said, you should probably give some examples of stuff you've enjoyed, or look at the aforementioned threads.

As much as I love Lovely Complex, it still fell into the trap of the show "changing" when they got together.

I don't know how you can keep a show the same after the central conflict is resolved - and just having the central conflict definitely resolved is itself admirable and rare. At any rate, the few episodes after that did feel like bonus episodes but were nice snapshots of moments when youthful relationships are challenged by the growing-up process.

If there is another romance that develops as naturally and free of nonsensical padding as Lovely Complex, I would love to see it.

Jc staff shows are like an awkward performance where the performer stalls for time after the first 3 episodes cause he hasn’t planned what do for the rest of the show (honey &clover, toradora).

What an impressive legacy of mediocrity.

Girls Bravo 2

That banana scene 0_o

Always been a fan of harem series where the main girl has NO clue how Earth works. And she also has forehead powers!

Paradise Kiss is calling, and is willing to pick you up in it's E-Type Jaguar.

Azumanga Daioh, Honey & Clover, Nodame Cantabile, Toradora, and Aoi Hana are not too bad. Nevertheless, they clearly peaked in 1999 and it was all downhill from there.
You seem to have forgotten Utena! How did that happen?

I think it's fair to say their output in the 2000's has been 85% mediocre stuff.

What is wrong with her legs? They look like they're just skin and bone and entirely out of proportion with the rest of her body. Eat a hamburger for godsakes!

She's always been very petite, she doesn't look that malnourished.

Knees are too sharp though!

So I lost motivation to carry on with Ben-To, 3-4 episodes ago. Guess the characters never really did much for me....

I hope Mirai Nikki can also pick up. Not enough character focus around Yuno and Yuki. Too much time spent on the fluff that no one cares about! (the remaining diary owners).

Chihayafuru 11

Taichi winning more rep points. Arata needs some emergency screen-time before it's too late.

Revolutionary Girl Utena 11
Mission accomplished,
a certain deceitful coward has to be punshed! For Anthy to be that weak-willed... what did I expect.

Chihayafuru 11

The barrel roll was phenomenal.
This show hasn't had a single disappointing episode so far and I can't wait to see Taichi shedding tears as Chihaya and Arata get together
for a game of karuta.

Somehow I failed to pass comment on that particular scene. Truly, it was spectacular and came from nowhere. That's the kind of wild-card that makes a match interesting to see!

Of course, I'd much rather see characters interact and grow without it being quite so heavily focused on individual matches of karuta. I mean, focusing intently on the match is nice and all, but it pretty much always boils down to Chihaya playing and winning in the same fashion. I don't even know the Jakarta playing styles of the other members of the karuta club, they just provide some backing to Chihaya's game. They aren't really being developed by this particular arc.

Good People Die Web Promo:

God this promo had a shit budget. It's like they gave one person 3 days to animate a 10 minute short or something. I doubt this promotion is actually going to make people want to buy the game come February.

GONZO blew all their budget on Last Exile Fam obviously.

I wonder how GONZO keeps the opportunity to screw up game promos. Do gaming companies not realize who they are dealing with? Does GONZO pay them to screw up their products? I don't get it.

wow, a commercial for Taisei Corporation. I hate these bastards with a passion. Now, I have a reason more.
although I like Shinkai... I'm confused

I still watch everything and have low standards.
It is the best way to enjoy anime.
Yeah, they don't have to be the best to be enjoyable, just as with non-animated movies/series. Though with less time to watch, I had to drop the f-s bomb Zero no Tsukaima: Princesses no Rondo, is there any relevant plot besides boobs to restart it? Hentai are so much shorter, having the same goal.

Maybe they just have an extremely good rep from the stuff they did in the 90s like Lunar.

I wouldn't say it's the best way to enjoy anime granted you get a few great surprises here and there but some of the crap you wade through sometimes can make you give up on humanity.

Haven't gotten to that point yet. Most of the "giving up on humanity" shows leave me speechless for a few moments before I start laughing hysterically.

Of course I can't think of an anime that has made me legitimately angry. Can think of a few manga though.

This hasn't happened to me and anime yet. On the other hand, wading though manga has tempted me into becoming quite the misanthrope.

strike witches? oreimo? shounen filler?

I liked Oreimo even if the heroine is a total bitch, but the author acknowledges that and even hates her, so it's okay. Dropped Strike Witches because it was boring and I just skip most shounen filler. Can't put in the effort to get mad at stuff that isn't canon. If I was gonna get angry over that, it would be over something outside of the show's actual content.
