This is my favorite time of the year. Especially in Michigan.

Here the summer's too hot. The winter is hellish. Spring is too wet. But fall is perfect.

It's sunny and cool. Trees look the best this time of year. It also has the coolest holiday on the planet.

And there's football. What's not to love?

and the game releases, am I rite?

It is the most tolerable season here in MI. And a cruel reminder of what's to come. I need to get the f*ck up out of this state again.

I don't give a damn for the whole notion of good games!

stop rubbing it in, Matlock :(

Suck it down, chump

Ohio is where you wait on your way to purgatory. It's the ash heap of Midwestern dreams. The Homeland Defense funds of Ohio should be used to put soft serve machines on every corner so you guys finally have a reason to leave your homes.

"You are WRONG!"

When I stand on the border of northern Kentucky and sniff the air coming down from Ohio, it makes me want to barf

Agree with every single word, except the football (don't really care). The weather is perfect and mild, the trees are beautiful, and there's just a certain something in the autumn air that makes me feel all good and fuzzy inside. Can't really put my finger on it. Maybe it's some sort of subconcious association from my earlier years. I'm in Madison WI btw.

Nahh, that's winter. And that's the one thing I hate about fall.....it's a prelude to a dark, wintery hell.

FALL RULES!

Here is my thing I've never really gone on to anyone before.

I used to have a paper route (around 20 years ago). During the fall, it would be cold, rainy, and dark when I would do my afternoon route. So around 4:30 no one would be out when it was dark, wet, and 45 degrees. What it allowed was for me to just have like two hours a day to myself. I could daydream, make plans, take deep looks inside myself, etc without any kids playing outside, people talking to me, heck, even dogs barking or animals running around. 2 hours 2 days a week for around 6-8 weeks every year that were just mine. This went on for probably 3-5 years.

So what happened now 20 years later is that fall days, gray dark gloomy wet cold fall days, just provide me with a great sense of peace and relaxation. I go out and run or ride my bike (definitely in the rain) and just enjoy time to myself during weather which no one else in their right mind would venture outside to "enjoy".

My daughter ends up being close to me. She likes all of that but prefers it to be snowing instead of just raining. her favorite times are dark gloomy snowy days. those would definitely count as my second favorite time of the year.

It's sooooooooooooooooooo cool in my house. I have all of the windows open, the breeze is the perfect tempature, and I'm just relaxing with one the new albums I just got, Wolf Parade. Damn, this day can't really get much better, for this and many other reasons. :)

Whoopie - snow, raking leaves, and women wearing long non-revealing clothes. Excuse me if I don't celebrate :D
Female fall attire does indeed suck compared to summer skirts and tank tops, but leaf raking ain't that bad (especially if you don't live in a house :D), and snow is WINTER dammit, not Fall.

I do truly hate winter, though, and I didn't used to. Especially ever since I got a car.....last winter was my first with my own car (in Wisconsin no less), and it did truly develop within me a deep, deep hatred towards snow.

Oh, and the one thing I absolutely despise about fall: the end of daylight savings time. Why can't we just leave it as it is? Who the fuck needs the sun so early in the morning when they're too fuckin tired and groggy to appreciate it? I hate the idea of coming out of work five days a week to darkness.

Definitly fall in Michigan...

I had to break out the hooded sweatshirt today.

And this reminds me of a sign that my high school history teacher used to have:

Keep Michigan Clean
Dump Your Trash in Ohio

The problem with this is that Canada does the same thing to us :(
