Splatoon 3 still pulling 6 digit numbers nearly a month later is great to see, Japan loves their squids lol, but the game is awesome so i'm happy to see it still doing so well.

I'm honestly surprised Japan doesn't love its Switch mini, considering they love portables and smaller things. They'd still rather have the option to play on TV. There's still hope in you Japan.

Japan's love for portable consoles was primarily driven by the software than the hardware. The Lite is be far the least popular model in Japan, just like everywhere else.

Which I find great.

The fact both the Switch and Lite have the same games and the Lite isn't favourable has me excited. Sends the right message to Nintendo to never abandon TV for the sake of portability only for the future.

I don't think there was much chance abandoning that side of their business after they went with the Switch approach. Successful software like Switch Sports and Ring Fit Adventure rely on motion controls, which other sucessfull software like Mario Kart, Mario Party and Smash get a lot of their appeal from local multiplayer.
