Good debut for Fantasy Life i! I might have to import a physical copy from Japan, since it looks like they didn't want to release it physically here in the West. :lollipop_pensive:

Clair Obscur is clearly having stock issues, 90% rise in sales in week 4 is wild. Not a bad performance for Fantasy Life either, I'm expecting strong legs for that one.

As an aside, October will be a crazy good month for the Japanese market:

  • 2 October - Ghost of Yotei
  • 16 October - Pokémon Legends ZA
  • 30 October - Dragon Quest 1+2 Remake

I wonder how the S2 Edition will compete with the regular old switch one.

I believe there's no physical version for Switch 2, so people will just buy the current version and pay the upgrade fee (or even just play through backwards compatibility).

Metroid Prime 4 for November? Probably between 16-20.

What you expecting for ghost. 200k?
It's on PS5, Switch, Switch 2, Xbox and PC. So we should see some strong physical numbers from the first three.

Ghosts of Tsushima did 500,000 physical and a million in total. So I can definitely see Yotei doing 200k-300k physical and over 500k in total.
Metroid Prime 4 for November? Probably between 16-20.
I can see it being it September, then them having Kirby Air Riders in November
With that western shit library? PS5 have lost in Japan a long time ago.
There's a fair few Western games that have done well on PS in Japan. The fact that PlayStation has Western games isn't really an issue.

Everything is dead in Japan until Switch 2 arrives.
Hopefully when Switch 2 finds its feet we stop seeing 3 digital numbers in the top 30.

Hugh, too bad. I was really curious.
The whole project seems full of the incompetence that has plagued Level 5 for a while:

  1. Announced as a Nintendo Switch exclusive to release in 2023, with Nintendo managing the physical release outside Japan
  2. Delay the game to 2024
  3. Delay the game to 2025 and make it multiplatform on everything except Switch 2. This move means the Switch version both goes up in price and also loses its physical version outside Japan
  4. Realise the lack of a Switch 2 version is a mistake and scramble to get one ready

But thankfully it does look like the game will be a success. Level 5 was a massive contributor to the Japanese market back in the 2000s and early 2010s. I'd love for that to be the case again.

Sony only has three entries on this chart. Embarrassing beyond belief.
