20th Century Fox has confirmed to Superhero Hype! that the Fantastic Four sequel has a new name - Fantastic Four: Rise of The Silver Surfer. The movie was previously known as Fantastic Four and The Silver Surfer. The second film, directed by Tim Story, is set to hit theaters on June 15, 2007.

In the sequel, the enigmatic, intergalactic herald, The Silver Surfer, comes to Earth to prepare it for destruction. As the Silver Surfer races around the globe wreaking havoc, Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben must unravel the mystery of The Silver Surfer and confront the surprising return of their mortal enemy, Dr. Doom, before all hope is lost.

Michael Chiklis, Ioan Gruffudd, Chris Evans, Jessica Alba and Julian McMahon star.

Considering the state of Doc Doom in the first one i wouldnt expect a comic perfect galactus (or one that resembles him in any way).

Don't get me wrong - I've rather liked the FF comics I've read over the years, but that movie was trash.

There was a FF storyline where Doctor Doom tried to steal the Power Cosmic from Silver Surfer, so it's possible they're doing that one before Galactus.

I can't imagine they make the Surfer look anything less than ridiculous. Not exactly an easy thing to pull off - shiny metaloid body and all. And Galactus? Oh boy. But seeing as those are two of my three favorite comic characters ever (the other is Dr. Strange), I can only hope for a good outcome. :-/

same reason why you'd do "phoenix saga", "the cure" and Magneto all in 1 movie. Comic book sequels try to "up the ante" after every movie and it always leads to more and more crappy movies.

He was about the only who seemed like he could act in the first one. Even Mr Shield was pretty horrible. Though alot of that could be blamed on the Star Wars-esque shitty dialogue.

They already messed him up. He's not supposed to wreak havoc. He comes here peacefully to warn earth of galactus' coming. He then eventually see's how good some people are and decides to rebel against galactus. What I love about the Surfer is that he's got a damned heart. He's not just a guy covered in silver!
