Far Cry 4 |OT| Welcome to Kyrat

Z93 Sniper Rifle...found it during the "Blood Ruby" DLC mission...full upgraded it can take almost everything out with 1 headshot (I think I've still had to shoot some of the "Heavy" enemies twice though)

z93 kills absolutely anything in the game with 1 headshot from stealth on normal.

Trying to finish off the trophies by playing co-op with a friend, however it refuses to connect. Had exactly the same problem the other night too.

In the UK, anyone else have this issue?

Bravo, Ubisoft. Bravo.

I'm happy with the choices I made even if I got the "bad" ending.

I was ready to side with Amita as NPCs kept saying she was the progressive one but all she talked about when it came to the mission choices were drugs, drugs, drugs. Like being a drug state is going to do anything but doom the country. Even in non-drugs missions she was all "get the intel instead of saving lives because it might confirm something we suspect". And then with the temple she wants to blow up a building of historical value to force the populace can break with the past? Pagan Min used the same justification on those statues. Hell, Saddam Hussein did as well.

Sabal was fine until the end when he started going on about heretics. And I felt bad for Bhadra but at least (at the time) Sabal's way would lead to a stable country where it was possible for a social progressive movement to take place. I let Amita live.

I killed Min because he was a bloodthirsty asshole. That story about the medical students in particular. Boo hoo if I don't get to resolve my issues with my estranged parents, this was bigger than me.

For me in regards to the ending (and when back in the world):

I hated both Amita and Sabal with a passion. I didn't like either and so choosing was hard for me. I ended up siding with Sabal simply because it seemed like the lesser of two evils. I let Pagan live, he was an asshole but I didn't really feel like killing him tbh.

However when finishing the end credits and then I went back to the game world. I ended up seeing Sabal at the Jalendu Temple where he executed some folks as seen in the vision.

I hated it, as soon as it gave me control I killed him and his supporters stone fucking dead. In my mind, I freed the country from him and Amita and would take over the country to be a good ruler (in my head at least :p )

The hurk dlc?

How do I access that?
Or are the hurk missions from that dlc?
Where he falls from the elephant and hurts his buttocks.

No, it's not in the Hurk missions. It was a mission that Gamestop in the US was offering as a bonus. I know other countries had their own ways of getting it and I think it's going to be released to everyone down the road as DLC or part of the Season Pass.

Which sniper rifle?
The r700 even needed 2 for a human.

What guns are you rocking btw?
Have the latest bow? The signature ak, the signature terminator 2 shot gun and the grenade launcher.

And I think I will get far cry 3 at the steam sale.

Silenced zoom scoped extended mag Z93 sniper rifle, M79, ACOG extended mag LMG (I can't remember which one), and one variable slot. When I get the silenced assault rifle signature weapon I think that's what I'll carry; until then, it's usually the crossbow.

The Z93 is game-breaking, though. But I find it so hard to give up.

They essentially took the basis of FC3 and actually made it fun IMO. There are so many improvements in from the weapons (D2 is a FUCKING BEAST), the gyrocopter, the grappling hook and the skills (Elephant Rider and Vehicle Takedown!).
It also helps that a lot of the side missions are more or less essentially versions of the core thing it does best - letting you tackle something in any way you want. There's still collectibles and shit but there's a lot to enjoy as well.

Regardless though it's a damn fun theme park ride and I'd recommend even haters of FC3 to give it a go, maybe in the next 6 months when you can get it for a price you're willing to take a chance on :) I don't know if I'd want another game like FC4 (and i'm worried about Ubisoft beating it into the fucking ground) but I can't deny I've had a blast with it so far.

That's good to know. I played FC3 for maybe an hour and went "why the fuck do people like this game?" And all I play are FPS.

IDK, something about the shooting did not work for me, and the enemy encounters seemed inconsistent. There were times where I could mow people down, but other times enemies would literally spot me from like 400 yards away and destroy me.

Can anyone else comment if FC4 improves on any of these? I bought, beat, and traded in COD, got a refund on Halo, and really want something else to play.

EDIT: Also, it seems stealth is key in just about every enemy interaction, does this remain true in FC4? If so, do you ever get to a point where you become leveled up to a point that you can handle pretty much anything? It always sorta seemed at odds with me that they give you all these tools and weapons to play with, but demand you remain stealthy.

So if anyone didn't know (post story spoilers)

Amita becomes an evil bitch after the end. I caught her in a village dragging kids into her army and killing people who resist. I torched her ass alive haha. It's a shame because it sounded like her ending was going to be the "best" of a bad lot.

Also, the game pretty much ended after I unlocked the Silenced sniper rifle. I didn't have to go anywhere near an outpost to clear it, even a silenced headshot will kill a heavy in one. very OP

The weapons definitely feel better to me but tbh it's been so long since I've played FC3 I couldn't really give you a comparison.

In terms of stealth I don't really stealth that much but tbh I didn't stealth that much in FC3 either. If anything it feels like the enemies can be a bit tougher at times but if you keep moving and disable the alarms/a few alarms beforehand it's not too bad. I just tend to keep moving, run about like a madman throwing grenades, bait and shooting anything that moves :p

You definitely get tooled up and the more you play, the more you unlock and the more you can do. I've unlocked a weapon which is very nearly god mode. Plus the fact I can ride into a base on an elephant (after unlocking the skill) and charging the fuck out of everyone and everything means its more fun. I've also flown in on a gyrocopter and thrown down C4 and grenades at enemies :)

Alright, I'll probably pick it up tonight. I just remember being spotted from REALLY far away several times in just the short amount of time I played FC3 and it bothering the fuck out of me. Hopefully that's less of an issue in this.

EDIT: Doesn't disarming the alarms require you to be stealth anyway?

Eh, you can destroy them from range before they're triggered.

If on a chopper, just pull out the m79 and blow them up or something. Works pretty well.

TBH i like that the game has completely broken weapons. If you wanna play with balanced gear you still have the option. Me? After 20 hours i just wanted to kill everything perfectly.

On the hard outposts then yeah you'd be best stealthing at least one or two of the alarms but on easy and medium outposts ? I usually just quickly run in and disable at least one, run out again and then you're good to go :p

EDIT - Fuck me, I didn't even think to destroy the alarm at range lol. You could do that with a sniper rifle then and just charge in. I must try that tomorrow!

Wait, you can destroy the alarm? I thought the only way to get rid of It was by doing it by hand.

Yep. By hand or by shooting them. By hand only turns off one though. I think in FC3 if you got it by hand it disabled all of them. Shooting them out is a great way to ensure that you never get reinforcements called (unless you want a quad kill) when detected.

I'm about to cut my losses and trade this game in due to bugs.

I just finished the end of act two and had to replay my final checkpoint four times because after
eliminating Yuma's lieutenant and heading into the wingsuit section
I fell through the world three times when trying to
land my parachute.

Couple that with sound bugs (no sound playing other than the soundtrack), and random other bugs like my weapon wheel not coming up until I quit the game and restarted and I'm just not having as much fun as I did with FC3, which sucks because I loved that game. Far Cry 4 is good, but I just don't have time to play games with bugs that refuse to respect my time.

What platform are you playing on? I'm on PS4 and it runs almost perfect.

Kinda annoyed by how conga-line kills work in this game. Seem to recall that you were invulnerable to damage while conga-lining enemies in FC3.

Here, surrounded? Try to chain and you're gonna be left with 1hp, if not killed in the middle of it.

Yeah, that is how I feel. I was going to use a knife takedown, I pressed the prompt but instead the guy checked me with his gun and I fell over. Some actions take too long considering you are always vulnerable

Has anyone noticed that the box art, in-game, and CGI trailer versions of Pagan Minh are all totally different looking? The CGI launch trailer makes him look like Gordon Ramsay with an undercut.

Those CG trailers were done months ago before release. Probably on some different specifities.

Just started the game recently. The archer camp was pretty cool. About as far as I have gotten. Can't find any god damn pigs anywhere. Oh, and the bow is still the goat.

Did you forget the shit storm "gay white guy wanna-be Asian" fiasco that was all the rage for a week on GAF 1/2 a year ago when they release the original art. Yeah... It was a joke. Be glad you missed it or forgot about it.

Wow the
Burn it Down
Mission was disappointing. The
mission in FC3 when you burned down the drug fields was awesome and it had that epic dubstep music in the background that fit the mission perfectly. I expected something similar :/

On the Amita path, at least, there is an excellent drug mission with fine music.

What's it like clearing out camps on this game compared to Far Cry 3? That was easily my favorite aspect of FC3 just because there were so many ways to do it. My favorite way by far was to shoot open an animal's cage with a silenced sniper rifle, then watch it maul the guards as they came over to investigate the commotion. Does FC4 give you even more options when clearing out camps, or is it roughly the same as FC3 in that regard?
