no it wasn't. the way to go would have been to make sure image quality isn't completely awful instead of pushing graphics detail and effects to a point where the game looks worse than its predecessor.

I really don't notice the artifacting while racing, what i do notice is the jaggy mess in the distance when using pure mode.
All in all it doesn't really matter because it's an extra option, i will use the dlss option with 60 frames cause that one looks better to me in motion.
At least we got GX in the GC emulator, the nice thing about that game is that it uses the complete screen when activating wide screen mode so no black borders
I don't get why they didn't use "full" DLSS and just upscale to 1080p (or a lower resolution when in portable mode). It looks decent in Cyberpunk and SF6.

In their defence, upscalers not work particularly well with very fast game. There was a video time ago about DLSS4 and the worst scenario possibile by DF and artifacts were far more visibile with fast motion if I'm not wrong.
