Fast FUSION Switch 2 gameplay

Was gonna get this anyway but damn what a poor launch lineup if you've already been playing games for the past 5 years.

I thought DK Banaza was out, I thought the Kirby Switch 2 version was out, ain't shit.

This is the game that makes me want a Switch 2 the most. No idea why the Fast series is Nintendo exclusive unless Nintendo is paying big bucks for that.

It looks really good.

Oddly enough, the way the ships are designed along with the camera sway, reminds me more of Hydro Thunder...just without all the water.

Surprisingly pretty decently priced for a launch game.

It honestly feels like Nintendo setup an arrangement to have somebody do a modern F-Zero for them without the name....

Can anyone confirm if the rubberbanding AI is as game ruining as Fast RMX?
The rubber band AI is present. I played a little bit last night and even on novice, the 1st 3 CPUs are always on your ass.

However, the game is phenomenal. The jump mechanic and seemingly better design tracks elevate the gameplay. Much better than Fast RMX even with the little time I spent. And it's $15. Graphics look current gen. I'm using the Balanced 1440p mode that retains dynamic shadows. This really going to be the sleeper hit of the launch lineup.

Looks very nice, definitely one of the more promising Wipeout clones. It's one of the games I'd love to play on other platforms.

It looks nice but so did the orig game running on Switch.

I dont like the super high FOV though, and i know it helps with the sensation of speed but its too high for me.

The first Fast game was on Wii, this guys are making Nintendo exclusive games since the Gameboy color.

This game does really look good, but after playing it for a couple of hours, if you look closely you can see the DLSS artefacts, I reckon it's running your typical "performance" level DLSS settings instead of a balanced mode.
The artefacts aren't visible if you select one of the 30fps modes but that framerate doesn't really suit this kind of game.

Still, it looks really good and the gameplay is great!

The best part is i think the made their own game engine… For such small team thats really impressive.

I just wish Wipeout Fusion was ported instead but it's unlikely to happen. This looks like a cheap Wipeout knockoff to me ...

Came back to this after the DF video and you're correct:

Real heavy DLSS usage with the modes rendering from the following resolutions:
Docked
1080P|60fps - 540p
1440P|60fps - 504p (This one is weird)
4K|60fps - 648p
4K|30fps - 720p

Handheld
1080p|60fps - 360p

Good thing is they will release a new graphic mode to remove retroprojection soon.

I bought the game this evening and waw, what a blast! I liked the last one on Switch but this one really is a step above. Gameplay is incredible and the tracks are just perfect. Only issue is that there is only 12 of them, but the devs said they will add more in future updates.

15 bucks for such a game is really a steal.

Yeah this game looks objectively good, and not just good for a Switch 2 good.
edit: I get nano assault* on 3ds vibes from it on a visuals stand point, at the time that game had really good materials and normal maps and great baked lights, it was doing things many contemporary games on home consoles weren't doing.

Wait I thought DF and neogaf users who hate the switch 2 told me it looked horrible with horrible dlss artifacting? 🤔🤔🤔

Still have terrible dlss artifacting as far as I remember.

The dev team will even release a mode that entirely disable DLSS in favor of Dynamic Resolution Scaler.

LOL

I've heard and read (overwhelmingly) that it's a fun game. That's all I care about BUT I do like graphics. I asked about the Pure mode because I want to know how it looks. Not to "dunk" on it.

I know is fun, but is not the subject of the reply I made.

it's crazy to think if I got a Switch 2 I'd be playing 3 racing games right now. I'm not even a big racing game guy. But I'd be playing this, mk and f-zero.
