FAST Racing NEO (Wii U) out on Dec 10th in NA and EU for €14.99 / $14.99 / £10.99

Has anyone got a review copy download code? Shin'en informed me that they might not be able to have the game ready in time for codes to go out.

Prrviews should arrive very soon, while for reviews..well soon too, considering that they will be Live before release

You and me Jon, y'hear that Shinen? Two people would be interested in buying a retail copy of your game, time to start mass producing it.

Go look at Shinen's Facebook page. Every time they post news, all the comments are asking for one. People saying they'd gladly buy it twice.

I would too! Just like Shovel Knight.

Seriously though, have they explained why there is vertical interlacing in the game? Really bums me out.

Couldn't have been just the video, right?

Welp, guess I'll be picking this up next Thurs to go along with XCX and Yoshi.

If this is as good as I think it will be, I hope Nintendo contracts them and gives them a big project - like F-Zero.

I see people say this all the time and it makes me cringe.

Shinen are a great developer but they don't have much personality or charm in their games.

Also, I don't think their gameplay is as fun or fine-tuned as Nintendo's.

This is not to slam them because while I thought Shinen was overrated, I got Nano Assault Neo(first Shinen game I bought) and REALLY liked it.

FAST looks great but it doesn't have memorable characters or that Nintendo charm which adds a lot.

I just think it's careless and foolish to think they could make a well revered famous IP and do it justice just because they are technically above the rest.

Nintendo always put at least a supervisor if not more on top of second party or completely external teams for their IP.

I don't think anyone who has actually played the game at events and such has said anything about interlacing so I guess it is only their videos.
People keep praising their visuals and frame rates but no word on interlacing (which is way too obvious in their videos) so I don't think it's a problem with the game.

Yeah, I could see a collaboration working but I think Nintendo would have to be directly involved for it to actually succeed.

After all, neither of Shinen's racing games plays like F-Zero as well as the intangible stuff I mentioned that plays a big role.

Bought bought bought !

These guys deserve my money.

Coding to the metal (yeah this impress me way more than awesome graphics with gazillions of power hardware and "classic" coding)

I know, it was meant to be a joke. A lot of people seem to be interested in the game, myself included.

Day 1 - hope it plays as well as it looks. This game may get the prize as the most technically impressive for the system. Would be cool to see a Digital Foundry assessment after release.

I'm honestly looking forward to more impressions. We haven't had much so far.

People keep saying "F-Zero this" and "Wipeout that" but I'm curious as to how distinct FAST Neo will be from other futuristic racers.

I mean, I've played the FAST demo on WiiWare but something tells me this won't be quite the same.

I wondered how much it plays like their other one.

I actually hope you're right and it plays differently.

I didn't hate the way that game played but it didn't wow me.

That's a lot cheaper than I expected to be honest... when indie games are typically pushing for $20 these days, I'm sure Fast Racing could've easily gotten away with it. At $15, it looks like a steal. Best of luck to them!

Thanks god they removed the need to collect orbs to change phase which was the biggest mistake, gameplay-wise, of the original game (coupled with the bastard AI).

Sweet, day one for me! I was expecting $20 or higher, glad it's $15. I'm very excited to play this and have futuristic racing in my life once again.

I want this day one, but I kind of want to wait till the Nintendo account is out in America to make any more eshop purchases.

Nintendo works very closely and collaboratively with devs who handle their IPs. I just think it's careless and foolish to overlook that fact.

4 man split too.^_^ This is going to be my second party racing game after Mario kart 8 here with by friends....... i am going to get demolished sooo bad too.T_T

It is too fasssssssttttt.^_^

That's awesome! I pretty much exclusively play MK/Smash with friends so it'll be nice to have a third.. people can say what they want about the WiiU but it is the place to be for splitscreen - especially now Halo has abandoned it.

I didn't.

I just think people are jumping the gun because of Shinen's technical prowess.

There's a lot more to classic games than fancy visuals.
I don't think people wanting Shinen to try their hand at an F-Zero game is something you should take personally.

I think they'll do a great job under Nintendo's supervision. I think it'll be great and keep Nintendo's other teams free to work on bigger IPs. They gave it to Amusement Vision with great results and I think it'll turn out nicely with Shinen's tech prowess, a generous budget (certainly would be bigger than Shinen ever had), and under Nintendo's tutelage. I only see a win-win here and will continue to advocate for it.
But Shin'en has also said that they aren't interested in working for anyone else.
That's true. But things could change.
FAST RACING NEO |OT| Zero Fs Given
I think we should go with this one.

Why are you so upset? We already know that Shin'en doesn't want that anyhow.
And that F-Zero is probably dead by now.

You really think they'd be able to pass up working directly with their idols despite what they say???

Not upset, just think Shinen is really talented but not on that level.

I think graphics blind people to what made F-Zero so memorable.

I think people underestimate the perfect storm that was the F-Zero GX dev team. If Nintendo had given that project to the Wipeout team or the Xtreme-G team during those days I think you wouldn't have gotten the same product. Likewise, I don't think it's fair to say just because one company is making a futuristic arcade racer that Nintendo could just oversee the project and we'd have ourselves an amazing F-Zero sequel at long last. This isn't an indictment of any of those team's skill or quality; I just think the mix of Nintendo's design sensibilities with the execution of Amusement Vision was something that worked together to make a really great racing game.
