Father Ted is a classic show, I loved it then and still love it now.

British comedy is really fantastic and some of the best (imo) is shows like Green Wing, Blackadder, The Day Today, I'm Alan Partridge, Spaced, The League of Gentlemen, The Office. All great stuff.

I also loved Jam - that was the most darkest and surreal comedies I have ever seen. Clever visual effects, lack of laugher and an ambient soundtrack made it even crazier. Look it up on youtube but I warn you, some of the topics they cover is really edgy, taboo stuff. You'll feel guilty laughing.

Grew up watching this show as well as the Simpsons when they were good. Father Ted is still a classic to this day. The amount of foreign friends who love this is crazy. You either get it or you don't and most people seem to.
One of my favourite episodes is the sheep competition, where ted is exposing the for fixing the competition. Linehan is in the back shouting "fucking hell!" With each revelation. It just catches you off guard because its probably the only time where someone curses.

Great show. Gutted that the Ted actor died.

Graham Linehan posts on Twitter. Pretty good feed under @glinner I believe, when he's active.

No posts since Pissmas.

I love this show. Recently it stopped working on Netflix. All the episodes were removed except for the one where all the priests get lost in the bra section at the department store.

It created the best song ever.

So yes, yes it is.

Every character in the show is amazing. Even just the one-off characters.

Was hoping these two were posted.

I believe he even died on the last day of the recordings or something, so sad.

I don't think it is the greatest comedy, but it isamazing.

I agree it's one of the best. Perfect casting and performances. There's so many classic episodes that it's impossible to pick one as standing out but I'll always have a soft-spot for the Eurovision episode.

In a way I'm glad it only had such a limited run though it was unfortunate the way it had to end. It kept up the quality throughout though.

Linehan and Matthews other stuff isn't as good but some of it's very enjoyable. Hippies I don't mind, it's got a good cast and has some really funny moments. Big Train series one is fan-fucking-tastic. Then the pair 'split up' and have never really hit their stride as individuals I feel. Series two of Big Train is hit and miss and The IT Crowd I'm not a big fan of.

I think Linehan is a lovely bloke though, seems really affable and fun.

Oh yes! I agree with the OPs sentiments. I have not seen anything better myself. I really need to go through all the episodes once. One of my favourites is the racist accusation episode where Father Ted was seen as racist and everytime he tried to prove his innocence something always happened.
