I was browsing some new FFXI media and I realized that I'm always stunned with the in game characters in this title.

This is just superb.

I also think that Wind Waker has excellent in game character design. The rito really do it for me.

Champions of Norrath and Champions Return to Arms hands down. This is why:

In both cases,Snowblind's take on the EverQuest character type is much better than of SOE's. I mean,the Vah Shir look awesomely modelled in Champion:RTA than EverQuest II:

In the end,we could say Snowblind's artist have really trumped SOE's character artist.

I adored the character and general world/art design in FFXI, by far my favorite. The newer (well, kinda) Relic gear, as far as equipment goes, was especially fun, even if it was far beyond a mere pain in the ass to obtain.

I was mostly partial to Paladin's though:

The various post-Promathia scattered works were also really easy on the eyes, lots of little details.

I wish my characters in WoW looked anywhere remotely on par, shit, I just wish my characters in WoW had their arms fully attached to their bodies. It'd be a nice start.

It's so funny, my mother looks almost exactly like that and eerily enough acts like her when she is in a bad mood :lol. Everytime I saw The Boss in-game I'd have to think twice that it wasn't my own damn mother.

I absolutely love the in-game character art of Shin Megami Tensei, mostly because the style allows them to get so close to the original drawings Kaneko did. I find the humans to be interesting because of their eyes and such, but the demons are awesome all around.
