I upgraded to PS+ Premium for a month because of Days of Play offer. I'll try Firebreak for sure eventhough I don't play online games nowadays.

system requirements are reasonable, I will give it a try. my 3070 would probably push 90-100 fps 1440p dlss quality so I'm fine with it. if ryzen 2600 really can hold 60 fps as they claim, it is really greatly optimized

Jumping in day one with the lads. Our cup of tea! From Left 4 Dead till all same games that came after, we didn't miss a single one. We're ready for this one!

Its both on gamepass and ps extra so basically is
Looks like im not checking this game out after all.

Shame as I like this kind of thing, but they are basically giving it away with a subscription to Womans Weekly and above. Will wait for impressions.

I have a inkling feeling that like many other co-op/hero/mp games, this won't last long.

And if it doesn't, then i hope Remedy makes the game offline playable against AI bots, so it isn't annulled. And also because id love to have one Northlight powered FP shooter atleast around (Remember Crossfire? Yeah...)

Super hyped for this but I don't like those PC requirements. Control ran like a dream and so I'm not sure what happened here for it to require such high-end hardware.

I was going to pre-order this no less but I might hold off now considering the performance on day one might be shitty. We'll see. Looks a lot of fun in any case.

Recommended seems entirely reasonable?

From what I understand (based on impressions of people who played the beta) the game can be played solo, but it's much harder (no balancing based on the number of players) and much less fun. Plus you still need to be online.

For me that's a pass. I'd check it out if there was a normal campaign with bots.

It's 60FPS with an upscaler. That is the opposite of reasonable.

But we'll see. I have a 6800XT and play at 1440p so with some bells and whistles turned off I might actually get a stable 120fps but the fact that all games require upscaling now (or worse: frame gen) is just such an awful trend in the industry. I hate that shit. It's lazy and comes with so many of its own issues. And sure you can brute force the game but then you need to break the bank as well by getting the most expensive GPU's that cost a fortune these days so... yeah fuck that noise.

I don't use AMD but DLSS is better than native, i see no reason not to use it. Same with frame gen, the amount of latency it adds at x2 from a decent base is not noticeable.

Its great technology.

Dead on arrival, no-one gives a shit about a GAAS game based on the Control universe.

Why not just make this the multiplayer mode of Control 2? Remedy makes such baffling financial decisions.
I'm baffled that this doesn't even have Control anywhere in the title. I mean what little clout that name has in the mainstream gaming sphere...use it. I beat Control and all DLCs twice and it even took me a while to catch on that the title is a Control tie-in. They seem to really want to make this multiverse bullshit happen and think it's way hotter than it really is.

On top of that, it's a Control asset flip...but in first person. What makes Control combat fun is the chaos, movement and speed of it all. So none of that in the spin-off. And Remedy can't design encounters to save their fucking lives. It's just "spawn lots of enemies in an arena" every time.

I should play it myself first really but even as someone who played Control a lot, and liked it fine, this is confusing and goofy.

When I saw this was part of the PS+ lineup I'd never heard of it. I'm equally shocked that it is a Remedy game I've never heard of.

I am really interested in this as a big fan of control and Alan Wake. I am a little concerned as the FPS they released a couple years ago was not great.
Crossfire X I think was the name.

I have watched a couple of previews and thought this looked fun so hopefully it has cross-play and finds an audience big enough to be supported between all three platforms. I was not in the beta so I have no idea how it feels which is a big part of whether these things take off.

This is DOA. There's no hype whatsoever for this game. Good thing that's it's free with ps+/gamepass though.

This is what i mean. Offline, botplay. I feel a lot of these games are interesting but developers in general (There are outliers!) simply pull the game which to me is dumb.

I would have loved to have played stuff like XDefiant or Hyperscape if they made them offline titles with hosting MP. Hell, my fave shooters are Quake 3 and Unreal Tourney 99. Games that even as of today are more fun than most modern games out there.

Note fun. I feel all these battle royale attempts can have a long post-success life if they did this.

The deal-breaker for me is requiring three players. If this would allow me and my son to play with an AI bot that wasn't terrible, or if I could press a button to switch to controlling that AI character when needed, or if it would just scale in such a way you could play it with two people, I would be inclined to check this out. My son and I just don't like having to play with strangers.

I am still excited for the next Control game. I hope Remedy got their costs for this covered by MS and Sony. I'd hate for this to be a financial drag on their single-player games.

Its the first time in my life that I have zero desire to play a Remedy game.

What a shame
It's free on PS plus and a week before death stranding 2 so I'll give it a whirl!

Feel like it'll be dead after a week anyway so I may as well see if it's fun at all.
