Difference is that Nixon admitted guilt and had resigned already. What you're suggesting would be significantly different and would be the equivalent of Hillary resigning and Kaine absolving her.

THEY ARE NOT REOPENING THE INVESTIGATION.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The FBI informed Congress Friday it is investigating whether there is classified information in new emails that have emerged in its probe of Hillary Clinton's private server. The FBI said in July its investigation was finished.

The disclosure raises the possibility of the FBI reopening the criminal investigation involving the Democratic presidential nominee just days before the election, although it is not clear if that will happen.

It does matter from an optics perspective

Those on the fence on Clinton have already been bombarded multiple times now with all this negative press

Having FBI double back AGAIN? Even if she is still innocent the uncertainty is built to a fever pitch at this point

We went from a very confident position back to the 50/50 race

Its crazy how much ammo each candidate has been given against the other

I really feel like the entire global community sees fit to undermine out Election process

It won't be over until election day, but you're nuts if you think all of this data that has been a proven commodity for at least two elections is meaningless all of a sudden because of another e-mail story that we're not even sure will gather much traction. There's being in denial, and then there's being a panicking chicken little who shits themselves at the slightest sign of trouble despite everything around him showing you don't have to shit your fucking self.

They found new emails and are looking at them. If they are bad they will reopen the investigation if they are nothing nothing will happen. How is that bad? How is this hard to understand.

Yeah, this is my thought process as well.

Doesn't make sense to hold on to the smoking gun this long. There's probably nothing, but again it just brings more national coverage to a story that should have died long ago.

No the race isn't gonna be 50/50 stop bed wetting.

Most people have already decided after the first debate, it might shift one or two points but most don't care and those that do are already voting for Trump.
 
People do realized that 20 percent of the electorate has already voted, and are voting right now. People have made up their minds for good or worse

Of course there won't be anything there... People are afraid of the headlines about investigations and how they will effect the presidential/senate races. This is gonna end up being nothing as always. We won't find out till after the election though. The timing of this raises suspicion that Comey is a partisan jackass.

This is the issue. I'm voting Hillary begrudgingly. Because she's better than Trump in the ways that count, I guess, and because the two third party candidates have gone off the rails. I don't, however, trust her.

Not voting is literally just not voting. This kind of rhetoric is dangerous. The other side says the same thing, just swap "white supremacy" with "communism" or something like that.

If it's not enough to sink her, of course it's being dismissed as insignificant. What do you want people to be saying? We don't have any information. This is more emails. If you are expecting us Hillary voters to say, "we were wrong, she is crooked" you're going to be disappointed.
 
I imagine Comey's phone has been ringing off the hook.

An absolutely unprecedented thing to do. I wouldn't be surprised if the Justice Department asks him to explain.
