....or in movies and media in general? Did anybody ask for this?

also why are such a large amount of black actors from Britain getting put on? It seems disproportionate. I'd like to see a new batch of Black American actors get opportunities. Seems like there's some bias there.

To be honest, other than a well tamed german accent, I think virtually all non-brit adjacent accents sound pretty bad. Swedish, greek, russian, italian, iranian, spanish, they are all hard to understand compared to a Brit adjacent (scottish, irish, aussie, indian, or that "high english" one everyone uses for LOTR). So I'm pretty cool with all of my historic media sounding british.

Some women I find it attractive. For TV, a few british accents fly over my head, so I have to pay more attention

No. I'm sick of hearing american accents. Don't trust them. Makes me feel like they're trying to sell me something that really isn't good for me, but if it's lathered in enough sugar and huge boobs with censored nipples they seem to think I'll bite anyways.

I once had to rescue a drunk British woman at night on the mean streets of Frankfurt after her German boyfriend abandoned her to get gas station McDonalds.

After corralling her I had to make her stay on a well lit train platform until her bf found us about 2 hours later.

He did not get us any McDonalds.

I'm British. I hate British actors putting on American accents.

Hugh Laurie, hang your head in shame.

I love British Comedies. BBC has put out some great shit during its lifetime. The accent dose not bother me and it can be really sexy sometimes .

I prefer them to American accents now. Seriously, even on Youtube where the majority of English-language videos are American they're awful. Why do Americans speak so imprecisely and yell a lot?

You know how in America, we have the "hick" accent? It's basically unloved by everyone who hears it no matter where they are from.

There's a similar form of the English accent that everyone hates, too. I don't know enough to tell you what you'd call it or what areas it comes from, but I can't listen to that accent for very long.

I feel like the accent you're talking about comes from the Manchester area. Every MMA fighter I've ever heard from Manchester sounds like they are trying to talk with a mouth full of peanut butter.

Gerard Butler is the worst offender for me. But House is up there too.

How many black British actors are there that make it big? Edris is the only one I can think of.

Laurie is better than when Jason Statham does it. That's a crime
I'm British and the accent coverage needs more diversity. Sick of hearing Southern cunts in everything.
Thats easy to explain - the more northern you are, the worse the accent gets. Southern accents may have been a run off from posh people artificially changing the accent, but RP has the upshot of being clear and articulate. Yorkshire, Scouse, and Geordie accents can't quite claim that.

It could be some northern accents like someone else said, but it could also be West Country. Or rarer still, the East Anglia accent (no one ever remembers the east).

No, I like variety as long as it's not shoehorned in. Kind of fun trying to figure out weird British slang in Guy Ritchie movies and such.

Sometime I can't even understand what the fuck they're saying.
Someone needs to reach those pricks how to speak proper. Yeehaw!

No i generally like british accent even if sometimes i don't fully understand what they say, especially women.

British accents are actually pretty cool. Better than the Southern one I have for sure. :messenger_winking:

No way.
Southern US accent is my number one most wanted accent.

I'd love to sit on my porch with my shotgun as an old man watching the world go by. I won't be able to do this properly with my stupid London accent.

British Accent is more sexy than american accent :P

Daniel Kaluuya has done well in recent years, and John Boyega landing a role in Star Wars has boosted his profile. Colin Salmon, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Lenny James have all done a good mix of Hollywood/TV work.

I am kind of tired of British actors if I'm honest. The accent is like any other country, can be really nice or pretty awful.

The accent is secondary to the voice itself if someone is annoying. Some accents make an annoying voice worse, though.

No. if only so that one day YOU DUMB FUCKING BIDEN VOTING TRUMP SUPPORTING AMERICANS can learn how to pronounce "twat" properly.

We used to be great. I miss the days when BBC and Channel 4 were putting out bucketloads of good stuff.
