PC Specs have been released.

Looks to be a lot more demanding than VII Remake was.

According to the article on their website there's a lot more graphical customization available in this port. Lighting, LOD, Texture Quality, Upscaling etc. Hopefully the pop-in issue is resolved as well.
I never know how the game it's going to perfom with this kinds of tables. I am starting to think my 3080 is outdated for my 2560x1440 monitor

What's with the aliased shimmering textures on the ground?
Image quality looks really rough, like FSR 1.0 or some crap :X

Depends on your GPU, honestly.

7900 GRE Gaming OC with Ryzen 7600X.

I already played the game on PS5, but left the hard mode untouched for a later run.

Why no 1440p recommended settings?

That's really weird as it's surely not that much more hungry than remake, otherwise it'll look weird. I can run remake at 5760x2400 UW at 100fps on 3090.

We'll have to wait and see.

I can run Remake @ 120FPS/Native 4K on Max Settings with the 50GB 4K Texture Pack and not even 50% of my 4090 gets used. Rebirth is asking for a 4080 or equivalent to run at 4K/60FPS. I imagine that's without upscaling like DLSS as it makes no reference to it in the specs.

Wasn't there an engine change between remake and rebirth? That might explain the difference.

This games existence sure does offend some people. Gotta love the chodes saying "it didn't sell!" They're probably just upset it didn't come to their favorite box and still isn't.

Day 1 SE PC game is almost always a bad idea. Going to wait and see the technical state first.

Although it’s not like they actually fix much as SE doesn’t believe in actually patching issues in a timely manner.

There's going to be a hotfix after a few days and that's that.

That's in a month! Can't wait for this one.

Hopefully my 3070 is good enough for 60+ fps

Sweet, I'll be getting this. It comes out like 10 days before KCD2. God damn it. I'll get both though.

I'm planning on doing the same. I can probably get through a main story playthrough on Rebirth in time for KCD2.

I was hoping for a January release. If not, then Q2 or Q3 to avoid some of the big hitters.

30% off a double pack of FFVII Remake, the DLC and Rebirth is ridiculously good value for how much game there is in there.

With DLSS in there, and hopefully Frame Gen, with some graphical enhancements, hopefully this will smooth out some of the issues Remake has.
Is it like in ps5, you purchase rebirth and you got remake "free" ?

How does it compare to FFXVI? I was really disappointed with the lastest FF. I did play the original FFVII.

This isn't even a Sony game. I made an observation about the sales trends of this series on PC so far, and people are passing and moaning at me. Sorry you can't take it either.
Come on man Square will put this game in every Steam sale for the next 10 years.

"And now, with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth released on PC, Hamaguchi's team can finally put it behind them and work full-bore on the highly anticipated sequel—a sequel that not only promises to match Rebirth's scope, but surpass it entirely, just as Rebirth one-upped Remake."

"Our development team is in full force," said Hamaguchi, "and you will be able to freely travel around the world map on the Highwind [airship] in the third title of the trilogy. Thank you for your patience, and please look forward to the next installment."

One of my wishes and forethoughts is becaming a reality for the upcoming sequel. Happy to hear that.

Fuck I can't even play it since GTX cards aren't supported for it. Time to upgrade to either a RTX 4060 TI 16gb or a RTX 5060 assuming it has more 12gb of vram or more.

I'm at the end on PS5 but haven't had the energy to finish it. It's a great game but I keep bouncing off it. Maybe I've played FF7 too much in general. But I'll probably buy this and play it on my ROG Ally X instead. FF7 is much cozier with portable play.

I would love to see modders work their magic to make this and FFVII: Remake into an actual....remake.

Shouldn't be too difficult, all it would take is to delete the confusing scenes that turn this into a hybrid/sequel.

That way people can enjoy both.

Usually that needs access to the game's source code, like someone managed to do with Baldur's Gate III. Without access to those files, the most that people can do is add items/change skins.

Unless the devs offer mod support from the get go. Which Square won't do, of course.

This is great, this game doesn't run particularly great on base PS5. I enjoyed it, but I feel stupid for having paid €80 now that I own a competent gaming laptop.

You can enjoy both. The OG hasn't gone anywhere.

Rebirth is a JRPG through and through and one of the most ambitious modern JRPGs so far in terms of scope, content, variety and overall presentation (you'll get some complaints about some dodgy textures but it's CGI like across a lot of the game, combat, cutscenes, art direction...) in my opinion.

Both critical and user reception is higher than FF16 and anecdotally you'll see more positivty for it. I liked XVI despite it's flaws but loved Rebirth and thought they went all out with it leaving me very hyped for the final entry. I hope they use it as a general blueprint for the series going forward over XVI.

I really enjoyed the game after I decided I didn’t need to complete every point of interest on the map and master every mini game before moving on. Do yourself a favor and do that shit after you finish side quest and main story line. The game is very bloated.
