If this is in response to the sales of FF16 on PC then my response to that is: PC players had over a year to see that FF16 was a bad game and not worth their time, so they didn't buy it. On the other hand, FF7Rebirth is a fantastic game and should be reflected accordingly in regards to PC sales.
We'll have to wait and see, but there's a few differences already.
FFXVI took 15 months between the PS5 and PC releases, to not a lot of fanfare during the summer, and then released alongside God of War : Ragnarok. If I remember, Warhammer 40k and Black Myth were both still popping off on PC in terms of CCU's around that time as well, so it had a bit of competition. Not to mention there were issues with the port when the demo and full game released.
Rebirth's PC announcement was made at a major gaming event and was featured prominently throughout as it was nominated in a number of cats, so has already got a head start in that regard with the additional PR. It's also less than a year since the PS5 launch, and when it launches, I don't think it'll have any major new releases to contend with until Spiderman 2 which launches a week later, and then Kingdom Come Deliverance and Avowed launch on the 4th February.
The only thing I'm concerned about is the PC port of Rebirth and the lack of a demo. Remake wasn't great on launch, but I'm hoping the team behind the port have learned some lessons from that and applied them to Rebirth.
