There's a difference between being hyperactive like Yuffie and Rikku, and being Vanille.
Can't be all gloomy like cloud ¯\_(ツ_/¯ you know people have this perception of cloud being a badass but to me he's the most gloomiest of FF protags.. The remake is going to open people's eyes. Because back then many players projected their own voice into those polygon characters.
Yep. Most of FF7 was
cloud's memories being overwritten to a certain degree, so how he acts generally is false most of the time, until he slowly comes out of it near the end of the second disc, after Tifa helps repair his mind in the lifestream.
I don't blame him for being depressed in AC, after all that.
Sadly, I'm sure they'll remove the scene with him dressed up as a sailor and standing on two feet. That will be one of the first victims of "it doesn't fit with the new art style".

And the whole village with the remastered music, and of course his father's reveal <3 ... Nomura better to it all justice. It works perfectly in my head atm hahaha!

Indeed!! I start crying in VII from the scene where Aerith's 'mum' talks about how she found her. So I'm gonna be a wreck from that point onwards...
I think before it I'm gonna try to go in with as open mind a possible! I'm usually able to do that well. But yeah boy is VII gonna be different voiced & remade with a brand new script than what it was back then.
True, although on the surface they seem to be of the same ilk, Vanille is most definitely different from the other two.
First time I'm hearing this.
This is basically my concern with most JRPGs nowadays. I know I've grown since I started playing them, but I just cannot put up with this sort of juvenile bullshit anymore.

The people hoping the game will look at least a bit better at release in November are going to have a rude awakening when "optimization" actually meant dialing the graphics back some more.

That made me chuckle. I guess you're right, I hadn't considered the context (To be honest, I have no idea what the premise of the story is, other than the kid is a prince and they're on the run)

To be fair, that's the type of thing someone would say to try to give themselves more courage than they really had. Still a terribly acted scene though.

Woah. I mean, that's some talent, they asked her to do it, so it's not her fault.
Also, that interviewer was...odd.
I've needed to come to terms with the fact that FF games just aren't made for me anymore.
I adore VI and IV, warts and all. VII is okay, but it's where the wheels started to fall off for me. And after attempting to play VIII, I bailed on the series until XIII. I played through that when I was home sick for a few days with the flu, and I preferred the flu.
I'm not saying they're bad games or that the characters are shit, or anything. They just do nothing for me personally anymore. I need to remind myself of this every time I see some of the cooler looking parts of a new FF game, or contract hype fever in OT threads.

I like Hope, Lightning, Fang (they were my main team too lol)
Snow is hot I'll give him that, but the personality is grating.
That's certainly an interesting speculation though we had seen instances of gameplay over time in fields and such. But if we go with the World of the Versus Epic being multiple games then this could have been possible as the project evolved. Actually, this sounds similar to the currently unconfirmed speculation that FF7R will have Midgard be the entire first game.

Yeah, I still believe the first game will be entirely in midgar. However, they get the chance to fully enhanced the city with the other sectors and more backstory and character development for Avalanche.
That's my theory on the whole Stella and Insommia cuts. By next week we should be able to discuss it since people get to watch the movie digitally.
Vanielle's issues were the voice direction. In the voiceovers she sounded great but in the game....not so much.
