Heh. As I read it, I imagined a short fight scene.
Oh it was definitely a short one lol. If he had been in front of me I would've probably caught myself, but it was late, I was on my second 12 hour midnight shift, and he snuck up behind me where I couldn't see him so my reflex was to just straight up go all in on a shot at whatever was behind me.
I kind of have a history of taking hard shots at things that sneak up on me from behind.
I screwed up years ago in training when someone snuck up on me in kung fu. Seems if something surprises me from behind I just go all in because I don't register a threat level when I can't see whats coming at me. Headbutted one of the instructors across the bridge of the nose pretty hard when he grabbed me from behind unexpectedly in Nitro WV and again in public once I damn near took my trainer Travis' foot arch in Borders books once when he snuck up behind me and bearhugged me in public. He moved the foot in time when he felt me tense and my leg throbbed from the stomp aimed at his arch that ended up hitting the ground hard enough to to startle a few folks near the CD's beside us.
I don't do surprises well. Thank God no one has ever thrown me a surprise party.

I don't twitter for reasons that are obvious. Wife keeps encouraging me to start doing novels. Might give it a shot.
