this is watson again on friends acct -
to address the venue fee issue last night. i spoke to both these guys before they left. for the sake of argument i will say they left on their own after speaking to me and no voices were raised after i made an announcement on the mic. one of them tried to argue that the tournament was run poorly and he shouldnt have to pay a venue fee. the other argued that he only played 1 or 2 games. both these arguments are moot and i explained that i am just the venue and do not run these tourneys. if you play on our consoles or set ups there is a $5 fee and they both knew this. i also mentioned to one of them that they do this EVERY time and i have to hunt them down which is petty but required. prior to this i sent my worker to ask him if he had a wristband. he replied no, so we implemented a new rule yesterday. if you are playing a tourney match and your opponent doesnt have a wristband, you automatically forfeit your match. pretty simple and gets the job done imo. also, i waited for the other person to physically sit down and start playing before i made an announcement over the mic so he was caught red handed.
could this issue have been solved easier? possibly. could they both have just followed the rules and paid the venue fee like everyone else when they signed up for the tourneys? of course. i couldve been a little more subtle about it all, but after sending my employee over more than once, and also the other being a repeat offender, i said f that. i have nothing against either of these guys as they are semi frequent customers. as i mentioned also, i have not had a problem with one of them ever, but the other is a repeat offender and its just annoying to have to enforce a rule over and over and over.
and for the people(person) talking out their ass about chasing someone down over $5. stop being retarded and think for two seconds while your uncles manhood isnt shoved up your butt before you speak. we run a business here, and there are rules to be followed. while we do offer a place for everyone to play and keep a friendly environment, we also need to maintain a standard and everyone needs to follow a few simple rules to keep things running for everyone. if i charged $20 venue fee would it still be petty to chase someone down? no, but it would be robbery. $5 too small to hassle, $20 too much, there is no win here. so if you have some magic solution please let us know, otherwise stfu troll.
after this issue i also dm'd both of them on twitter to let them know they are not banned, i just asked them to leave for the night since they didnt feel like paying the venue. i told them they are welcome back as long as they pay. plain and simple. but as far as them playing the victim here, thats bullshit. anyways, thats the story.
