IMO I would put a invitational such as Canada Cup Masters Series and Topanga World League ahead of everything except EVO(only talking about SF4 obviously). They're guaranteeing some of the best players in the world and their is no such thing as a lucky draw to avoid certain opponents or character match ups to assist your way to winning the whole tournament. I don't see how winning USF4 at FR or NCR would be more impressive with 1-2 or no top international competition at all. To me that's like giving Luffy more credit for continuing to body Europe for like the 5th year in a row than Daigo for winning Canada Cup Masters series with multiple EVO champs and top talent all around.
EVO is the one exception because it's basically a supercharged US major. All the best players from all over the world in a 2/3 double elim format that takes a lot of skill, but at the same time a lot of luck to win as well. I don't mean to discredit EVO but I feel its format could allow for maybe a dozen different players to win if they have a good day where as one won't be able to get away with that in a invitational because they have to grind it out against every top player and keep making adjustments along the way.

I feel like Armada just started choking under pressure... The fifth match started off differently than the past two, Leffen didn't even bother to realize what he was doing wrong and ended up getting punished on the majority of his techs.

I agree. KOF has historically been very good at that. I actually make mention of it in the community spotlight for next week.
She isn't exactly flat in that game too, just not DoA-ish.
I didn't have a problem with her VA before(always main-ed her), feels like she talk way more now, but that might just be the long gap between XI and XIII.

Well I went ahead and tried contacting the APEX staff for a refund, the host's situation is a lot more difficult after discussing it with him, it sucks that I get told there's a place to stay to then get kicked out on the curb by myself due to a friend's miscommunication with the host. Lets hope I at least get a response...

When SolarPowered first started talking GG with me and mentioned Baiken, I was pretty much sold just on the strength of the design alone. Mind you in the end, I would play more Johnny for running with the iai fighter trope to one of its best end points (something I initially thought Baiken would embrace with no previous knowledge of the series), but Baiken is definitely one of my favorite fighting game characters in overall design and a big part of that is due to her being so atypical in look.
I also was sold on GG as soon someone picked Baiken and proceeded to destroy me in ten seconds. Goddamn that character...

My smash friend tried hooking me up (he's staying at another smasher's house but never offered since it would be weird to bring someone to a house you don't even live in) in a group chat and no one responded to it so yeah... He's not being anymore helpful than that and I can't force him to ask more people he knows. Our smash scene is pretty big but I don't know any of there contact info and I'd doubt they'd let me crash. I barely know any smash players to begin with since the one's I used to play with seriously all retired from video games indefinitely.
