Tokido is my personal GOAT fighting game player though followed very closely by Justin Wong.

I almost want KOF to be at EVO 2015 again just so Tokido has a shot of taking the EVO title for it. He wanted it real bad last year and he put in the work.

Was actually looking at a bunch of footage from KoF 2002 UM earlier today.

SNK has some pretty amazing character designs, surprised most of the better ones didn't make it into XIII.

I heard that 2002 UM is coming to Steam?

The worst part about KOF13 is the fact they shit on their female character designs. Those faces *baaaaaarf*

Edit: Only character they didn't fuck up with their moe blob shit was Kula and that's because that was her design in the first place.

I think it can work for us if you want to rank the top 10 players, but outside of that it's subjective because there's so many players, only a few major events that they can actually attend, and how well they perform is heavily impacted on who's their bracket.

In the end, these lists with no logic behind them just turn out to be popularity contests.

Actually, she looks considerably better compared to her old sprite (I was rather surprised that they didn't make her look anything like Yuri or Athena, nevermind actually looking serious in neutral or seeming older than than those two when it's the other way around). Otherwise, yes, every single female except for her was screwed up in that overhaul.

Kula, Yuri, and Athena are my fave KoF characters so two of them being gutted as hard as they did visually hurt a lot. it double didn't help when they butchered Athena on more than just looks.

Kula has one of my favorite move set/ animations of any character in a fighting game.

Favoring Kula myself (my #1 overall in KoF), I dreaded how she might've turned out considerably. IIRC, Nona had nothing to do with either her or the rest of the K' team, so that's probably why she turned out as well as she did (her original designer is also apparently still at the company and worked on the game). As much as I've tried to adjust to XIII Athena, having only Shining Crystal Bit and no Fang Arrow just doesn't work for me. On the aesthetic side of things, I long for the days of designs like her '02 and '98 looks (especially the former), and wish they'd go back to doing more than just throwing her in a schoolgirl outfit and calling it a day. The Psycho Soldier throwback was a poor excuse.

I've known the guys who run it since 2012. Back then we were a small group of people cramped in a St.Albans house with a few arcades. Now the guy who runs it (Mark) managed to step the business up and make something of it. It's progressing pretty well. Definitely check it out.

All very much true and I think adds to the overall points made. I've advertised often and asked to have some UK/French/Swedish streams featured on the front page/OP but it's been turned down. Like I said before, we end up supporting ourselves.

I was just showing that he did place outside of top 4.

And I rate Topanga A League as high as any tournament out there in the scene. No one in Topanga League just gets to play in there like Masters Series and Topanga Asia/World League. You have to perform well to even get to the next stage and they have to perform well to even remain in the league or you get relegated like Fuudo just did.

And Masters Series might have been an invitational, but there is no denying the players were all great players.
