Hmmm, while searching for some DD:Neon artworks (I like some of what I saw on this stream), I stumbled upon the deviantart page of the guy that did them. Funny thing is: he's the one who designed the alt costumes for Hugo, Poison and Elena in USF4.

Both of those stages are actually locations from Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams. The fact that Daigo Temple (Moonlight) looks similar to the SF2 stage is completely coincidence is all.
