Robo was never really planned for SG in the first place just like Fukua. That the both of them came out the way they did is honestly a testament to how good a designer Mike is (and how excellent Lab Zero's art staff is at their job too). Also, a lot of the flying shenanigans SG was supposed to experience are probably still locked in the vault of remaining characters that were up for a vote during the IGG.

This right here is what MvC2 would look like if you mixed in some of every fighting game in existence and every character is viable. The genre isn't ready for a fully balanced MvC2.

I'd just like to take a moment to say that I appreciate your posts on Skullgirls SolarPowered. I will eventually redeem myself of fraudulence and get good at that game too (Eliza for life), but this Splatoon addiction/GG & Smash makes for a lot less gaming time to spread around. :lol

This dude used to coach me mid match by telling me exactly what move to do next. And the other guy can hear what he's saying too, so now he's expecting it. Only useful if you don't follow their advice most of the time. And this other guy would commentate his own matches "I think he's about to dash forward and throw!"

Gato is my favorite fighting game character. Playing him at a higher level skill wise on Garou is a thing of beauty. That meter build, dem combos, *Kreygasm*.

I don't play at a tournament level for any scene, but I know if someone was coaching someone and it wasn't between matches/rounds... I'd call a flag on it or just call them both out for being shit heads.
Is this a 2v1? Do you want me to call your mom to help you out too? How many people need to be here for you to feel confident in wtf you're doing? Let me get Regis F. on the line and we can do some life lines for you to call friends up since you're clearly not confident in yourself.
I get someone coaching between matches/rounds. "Hey man, he's doing this after every X... try doing Y more." or "You need to back dash more on wake up" Shit like that. Simple tips that can get someone great mileage, but if you are going to run play by play with someone... god fuckin damn. Give him the stick/controller at that point and move over. Back seat coach player here clearly has more clue on what to do then you and you need to go home and be a family man.
Thank fucking God I wasn't the only one who thought this, I saw almost no one else saying this. Like, in what fucking universe is this a contest? Champ/Chris/Justin are just about inarguably the top 3 in the world, I don't know that I could think of any other dream team of 3 players that would maybe have a shot at them, maybe something like Nemo/Cloud/Flocker or something? I don't even know.
Also a teams money match sounds like a recipe for disaster with the losing team and the blame game. Let's be honest, Paradigm is definitely the weak link here.
Clockwork and Cloud can beat the gods and have in the past. Paradigm's record is kinda sketchy against them and certainly the weakest player of the 3.
I think it looks like a statement from Clockwork that the "gods" can be beaten and he wants to prove a point (well him and his Socal boys).
If we are talking dream team then I would just replace Paradigm with RayRay at this point if he was available. After the 3 gods, these would be the next best 3 players right now.
I'm just wondering why the fuck Paradigm is there. Dude is gonna get fucked by Justin and FChamp easy. If ChrisG isn't slacking, he'll fuck'em over too. Should've picked someone else rather than Paradigm... Maybe Rayray would have been a better choice. Only three players that I've seen give the top three players a run for their money consistently.

Even when there are time limit rules on coaching. It is not enforced on most times. I hope TOs start doing it.
I think the bigger problems is that it's probably not enforced period in pools.
its pretty fucking annoying seeing people coach the player mid match and not only that, spend all the time they want drinking water/getting coached. next time that shit happens ill just tell the person to shut the fuck up and play the game, its really irritating.

I won't judge. Most of us are frauds and stans in one way or another around these parts. For example, I don't think I play VSav nearly or well enough, but I still rep it hard. You'll get there eventually, but you should really hop on this train someday because I don't think Eliza will be this strong in SG2.
I don't even care if they aren't ready. I'll take one of their finest Molly, Beatrix, Annie, Panzerfaust and Feng. I won't even know what to do with myself between all the potential mains/secondaries.
I think it was Digms idea. He can do well against Justin or Chris, but against F. Champ he'll probably crumble. He's improved a lot though. Definitely one of the strongest west coast players. Just needs to get over his slump against those three. Maybe the MM will gove him the motivation he needs.

At the least, that takes more time, and you can always (presumably) try and lessen the time between games
He has made EVO top 8 before so he's definitely one of the strongest but the matchups against these players aren't too much in his favor. All of them can play the lame game and he just loses.

This is why I'm mostly indifferent to coaching rules. In principle, I have a pretty strong dislike of coaching because it disproportionally benefits people who make the right friends; just seems too cliquey for my liking, and FGs aren't team games in the first place. In practice, though, you're not going to be able to curb it in pools anyway, so it's whatever.
Gato is love, his design is simple yet effective. Just the way i like it. I don't know how to make a hq avatar of Gato tho.

yeah, it seems pretty hard to do. In pools it's not impossible by any means, but the way we have judges doing pools currently makes it p difficult.

Saying it benefits those with high level friends makes no sense to me. Having high level friends offers much bigger advantage than just coaching. You can't regulate that. Just be higher level.

Justin was talking about teams he theory crafted back in the day of ChrisG's dominance with MorriDoom. He said that he had a Storm/Dorm/Akuma team with Dorm using Pillar assist to take out some of the fireballs.
He also had Storm/Vergil/Akuma as a counter team. In fact he says that he still has them in his pocket but doesn't need to bring them out because he wins without them anyway.

i have no problems with coaching but there should be a limit to how long they can delay the game and after they should have to sit far away. what i want changed is the winner of the match going in to character select. i can't stand seeing fchamp do this and there should be a rule against it. the loser of the match should get to change character/pick stage if he wants or restart as soon as possible if he feels like it. i really hope clock isn't putting in any of his own money into that 3vs3.

He's improved int hat regard and none of the three gods play as much as they used to, so it should be pretty good. Depending on the format of course. Wouldn't bet against Wong or Champ though.
