Fighting Games Weekly | June 2-8 | The Final Kountdown

The whole TKONY thing was to put EMP, namely Sanford in their place and to have him not be in it goes against that. But anyway, the true King of NY is Sp00ky. Nobody is bigger than him in the FGC there yet alone the world.

No, that was just people not knowing how to block in general. That being said, losing the block button "just because" would piss off the entire fanbase.
They would take it out for accessibility, sort of like the option in Injustice. Didn't seem to bother the community much, and hey, Injustice is probably the best example of good combat mechanics in an NRS/Midway game too. Net positive. Though yeah, it is a big part of the game's identity.

I find it weird that people are getting mad at Smug for what he said about Sanford last night, it was basically the usual pop off he does but now everyone is assuming thats why Sanford doesn't want to be in KONY even though hes just sick or something.

Sanford straight up linked a vid of the pop off on his twitter account

That assumption about Sanford getting salty happened before the health stuff became known though? That's my impression anyway.

Actually his teleport in the beginning was ridiculous and the character was really braindead. REAAALLLLLYYY braindead. He got overly nerfed but the teleport coupled with his air normals were legitimate gripes.

Accessibility for who? People that probably won't play MK/NRS games anyway judging by Injustice? People wanted block button out of an NRS game, they got it, they still didn't play it because they dislike NRS games for more than just "easy mode" block button.

More or less, a lot of the gripe with NRS games is that the formula hasn't deviated from the original game in any kind of revolutionary way. Another argument is the whole NRS games look clumsy and clunky, which is an argument used for KI as well.

The main gripe is that those games aren't made by capcom.

The first one is....weird, and I've personally never heard of that being a reason.

The things I've heard people hating NRS games for: Strings/combo system/juggles instead of links, "feels" clunky, poorly animated, too dark, sound too low, block button, universal air normals, zoning is too strong, constant patches, poorly modeled women, dash blocking.

A block button removal isn't gonna have people flocking to MKX.

I don't think the MK series straying from the first game is a common complaint. They have to be the FG developer most willing to change up mechanics and moves.

KI looks very fluid compare to NRS games.

My point exactly. It's more or less a misguided argument from newer fans who get a lot of their arguments from the OGs that make these claims.

While the OG claims are legit, based on what they are accustomed to, the newer players tend to cling to these arguments with little to none (leaning towards none) in the way of actual reasoning.

Before MK9: "What the fuck have they done to MK? Make it not suck again!"

After MK9: "Lame, all MK just plays like the first game!"

You have hit the nail on the head, bruh. NRS gets hella patch happy, especially since they want to make sure that their game is balanced, but the game gets more UNBALANCED, and people never get a chance to adapt to changes made.

Wait, what? Who thinks MK9 or Injustice are more unbalanced after the patches? Do you even play or follow these games?

I disagree with the unbalanced part for Injustice. Day 1 Injustice was leagues worse than final patch Injustice. The final Injustice patch has made the game a lot more balanced to the point where there are only a handful of unviable characters and even THEY are proving to not be unviable, like Shazam.

The thing with their patching is is that they changed a few things with each patch for a few characters at a time, pretty much anything that was undeniably too strong like Superman's breath. So many characters went untouched for months or had a few small changes until they released the final, big patch 6 months later.

I feel as if I meant to say that the game gets too well balanced because they're patching the game so often.

I'm not trying to use unbalanced in the traditional sense of the word. Trying to balance a game so often can cause an unintentional tip in the opposite direction if not careful, and that's what I feel happens when NRS gets so patch happy in the beginning cycles of their games.

But most like the current version of Injustice. We saw a complete resurgence of the game from NEC on. I mean people have their character specific complaints but overall it worked out.

I think I'm just gonna stick with Grundy and play less Shazam. The latter is fun as hell, but the motions for some of his moves confuse me sometimes. Plus I'm not used to controlling a fast(er) character.

I like how off screen fakes' tilted pictures remind me of how fake scans usually have this giant white glare on a third of the page.

Just tries to make it more authentic lol
