Must be hard for them spending all that time grinding away to earn so little. I would find it pretty difficult considering how much more you could make with that time.

I don't know how or why, but this thing is an absolute beast and it's cheap as hell. I've looked it over a thousand times and I still don't understand how it's only $400. I expect to run Skullgirls and everything on my steam library at high settings with ease(except maybe Metro 2033). The Wii U E3 showing was just so disappointing that I decided to use that money for a new laptop instead.

Has anybody else seen Justin Wong and Mike Ross talk for like 3 seconds about sf4 on g4's 100 greatest games of all time? Was pretty surprised to see them on tv. Even if it's on a network nobody watches.

I bought the 17" version of this laptop.
Used a modded BIOS to manually control the switchable graphics, put on a clean copy of Windows 7 and an SSD. Freaking amazing machine.

Yup, only two I've donated to are Spooky and USD. First after Spooks lost his equipment to DHC and the other to help USD get to Evo. Both of whom help provide me with a lot of entertainment, Spooky with his streams and USD with his weekly writeups/recaps.
I can't really justify giving to anyone else. They can salary-monster just like me to eat. That is, unless I get tremendous value from what they provide, which is rare.

Lets not get carried away here. It's a great buy for a mid range gpu and ok cpu.
If you are are on a budget I doubt you'll find something better anytime soon.
MSI's traditionally have been good gaming buys in the past 3 years or so. They skimp a bit on the CPU and screen, but it costs a good $150-200 less for similar performance.

The only time I've donated was for the FGC Japan tsunami relief. Once I get a job with this new degree of mine, Spooky will get a donation. He's the only one that has worked for it.
They don't have broadcaster tournaments, but if they did, Spooky would dominate and we wouldn't have to worry about helping keep him afloat.

Unfortunately I have plans to go to Vegas for Labor Day weekend, and I can't really skip on that.
So yea... going to Vegas twice within like 2 months was kind out of the question, but hopefully I can be there for 2013!

I'm totally aware of that(especially the CPU). It's just that I'm coming from this and I'm pretty excited by everything I see in this laptop compared to my old one which I spent 1K on. Most of my Steam games are also games from early 2011 and below. I don't expect many games on my library to choke this graphics card.
I was looking all over for a similar good deal on an Nvidia equipped laptop, but they are just too expensive for a short notice purchase.
Cuz it's fun or something like that. Screw the smash community rules.

You would think tournaments/would championships/etc would be decided on skill, not on luck/random factors like items and smash balls. Especially for money, awards, and shit.

Depends on the character he's teamed with some characters can capitalize off log trap super like nothing mystic ray is more of a LOL NO type move. Rocket is a better character than shuma, but way harder to play

... actually Wizard decided to run items, because historically FGC games has always been played "as is *default settings*. Also like I mentioned earlier the only thing are normally ban are game breaking glitches. Of course the two exception are SF3 Gill and ST Akuma.
If Smash default settings were items off, then EVO would have had it as items off. Don't blame EVO, blame Nintendo.

The idea was laughed at when it was introduced, but when rational people from both sides looked at the ruleset (some items were still banned, like the Stopwatch which could lead to inifinites, among other things), people who were actually going to...you know, PLAY, warmed up to it.
Cue the bitching from the other side of the Smash Community. They were so up in arms about how EVO was "going out of their way to spite them" by using this ruleset (and not the "correct" ruleset that the Smash Community used) that some people actually went and tried to boycott the event. Naturally, me and my friends went to EVO and had a blast, while the naysayers stayed home with their arms crossed. I nearly made it out of my pool too, but SK92 put an end to my run.

I blew up some Norcal players at a con and had them all shouting and screaming with him. Then they took away the controller and said stop playing and come back for the tournament later. LOL too bad I couldn't make it back hurt too bad to walk to it.
