I don't think we're gonna get anything fighting game related from Capcom this year, and if we do, we'd probably see it at Evo, at least I would think.
From Capcom we'll probably see like, Deep Down (aka Dragon's Dogma 2) and, well, who knows what else, lol.

Filthie Rich leaving Namco. He pushed a lot for the FGC when it came to bringing cabs to events and pot bonuses. Good luck to him in his next job.
rip in peace smash bros at E3
Of course not. But that didn't stop people from talking about gender issues on his show. Same thing with the UFGT discussion. He said at the beginning of the show that if you have anything to say about the issue, positive or negative, you're welcome on the show.
E3 is a couple weeks, what fighting games are people expecting there?
I think we will see more of GG Xrd plus that other new ASW game.
On Capcom's front I always have MINIMUM expectations from that company. I don't even think we will see the new AE patch at E3, it's probably being saved for EVO.
I expect Tekken vs SF trailer to be there. It will probably be next gen because I see no point in releasing it this late.
Microsoft may have Killer Instinct 3 but if it's in anyway related to Kinect it will get shit support from the FGC. KI will just be banking on people's nostalgia and early console gen life cycle to get some easy sales.
Then there's Bloody Roar.. lololol
lol
This Fray is pretty good. They're talking about the money discussion that's come up recently with players and TOs.
Yea That episode of The Fray was good. I gave it another listen this morning.
I don't get why players are complaiing about TO's "ripping them off". Don't they know that there isnt even any money to steal in the first place?

They believe that TOs are pocketing 30k and up per tourney, so apparently not.

Until Keits shows me the receipts, I will continue to believe that he was born in Kenya.
In the spirit of the French Open currently going on, what would you say is the equivalent of the Grand Slam for FGCs?
The general public knows that other tennis tournaments exist but unless they're diehards they rarely tune in to anything asides from the Australian Open, the French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open.
As far as the general public is concerned, the FGC has EVO, and, well, EVO. Maybe Dreamhack for Europeans and SBO (rip) for the Japanese.

KI3 could make sense because I doubt Microsoft would have gone through all of that trouble to get the trademark again just to sit on it, and MS said they're gonna bring back an old IP.
I suspect MvC4 is going to happen instead of All-Stars, due to that Capcom/Marvel "Show your support!" weirdness that seemed to lead to nothing earlier in the year.Well, we know SFV won't be there. If Capcom is working on anything at all it will have to be Darkstalkers IV or Capcom All-Stars.
That was Sven's communication being taken out of context. Eventhubs screwed up. Capcom doesn't even have the Marvel license right now, so there's zero chance of a MvC4 being announced at E3. Zero.I suspect MvC4 is going to happen instead of All-Stars, due to that Capcom/Marvel "Show your support!" weirdness that seemed to lead to nothing earlier in the year.

I doubt it. I don't think Capcom wants to work with Marvel anymore.
So you're saying there's a chance...
There's no chance
I expect to see Guilty Gear Xrd and Super Smash Bros Wii U.E3 is a couple weeks, what fighting games are people expecting there?
Capcom please! It would make a lot of sense to make use of the existing mvc3 engine for something. Like they used the sf4 engine as a base for SFxT, only not crappily done.Well, we know SFV won't be there. Anyways I started thinking about this cause of ChrisG trying to downplay winning or even attending EVO. In tennis you can be like, "so what if you didn't win Wimbledon you still took top honors at the French Open!"
But I can't really see anybody saying the same for pretty much every fighting game tournament asides from EVO. There's just a certain gravitas about it that nothing else can match, where top players spend months preparing for it and purposefully skipping out on EVO is like sacrilege.
If you are a sponsored player, and you Top in every single tournament and you are not working a job. Should'nt you complain to your Sponsor about geting more money?
I dont know, maybe its just me, but sponsors are suppose to take care of you and if you are really struggling financially, find a job or renegotiate your contract.
It's weird that to see how much distrust players held back from tournament organizers in regards to finances. Transparency is important but at some point players need to start doing their own math and adding up all the costs of doing a major. For instance, how many players do I need to attend to cover the cost of the venue I'm going to rent? Which sponsors can assist in prizes? And how much of my own money can I afford to spend. It's almost shameful that TO's have to come out in a public setting to clear the misunderstanding, which is that no one is getting rich from running a tournament.
Yeah maybe I should have used some Podunk example like the ATP Masters instead of Wimbledon lol.Yeah, your point is takenBut then again - most people recognize that Wimbledon is the move. "You won the French Open, okay, yeah. But you don't have that Wimbledon win. Is your career REALLY complete until you've got that notch on your belt, Mr. Federer?"
Preach it brother!I really think if they can't get a full on living wage from their team, they should at least focus on winning and work on promoting themselves through streaming or video content. Even though, I'm getting awfully tired of hearing it, they should be going for that CPM money on the side.
Pretty much every EG SC2 player is streaming on Twitch and running commercials. .

After thinking about it there are two related, but different interpretations of the Grand Slam: my first definition (how visible the tournament is to the public eye) and FatboyRobert's (how much a win at that tourney defines your career). That latter one is a lot more interesting to think about.I dunno about Dreamhack. Their tournaments are poorly advertised in the US and have poor visibility.
The thing with the FGC tournament / Tennis comparison is that all the Grand Slams are different. Every FGC tourney is basically the same. A bunch of games, same format, just different location and people maybe. Playing on clay, grass and hard court in itself is like playing different types of fighting games.
I agree with that as well. I think teams should provide as best as possible. I really think if they can't get a full on living wage from their team, they should at least focus on winning and work on promoting themselves through streaming or video content. Even though, I'm getting awfully tired of hearing it, they should be going for that CPM money on the side.
I think FG pros are late to this thing. eSports has been on this for a while. Pretty much every EG SC2 player is streaming on Twitch and running commercials. FChamp has caught onto this, I think ChrisG should get on this, because he's winning all the time, and that could be used to his advantage, not just AGE's.
