Dang, it really looks like I-no lost a lot of her interesting tricks alongside her difficult execution in Xrd.

Casuals ruining Guilty Gear before I've even played it etc.

Everyone lost their fun stuff. Look at Xrd as a reboot, the AC version is one or two iterations away, after the muddy casuals trade in their copies.

well she and the rest of the cast are practically their Reload version.

I only play +R casually but will get seriously invested like I did with Marvel once I get it in the mail. My Faust will be gdlk after getting my ass whooped by everyone here.

Zato and Faust got plenty of fun stuff in Xrd. New buttons, drill puddle summon, break the law for shadow, break the law/door YRC, black hole... Same with Ky and Sol at least. Kudakero, grinder seals seem like a lot of fun IMO.

Yeah, even though Ky lost some really fun stuff. His new stuff when used optimally looks just as fun. The fact he has solid mid screen damage is a pretty big deal too.

I-no's difficult combos were really part of her charm. It was as if she was as hard to master in the scenario and in-game. Also I don't like her new combos in Xrd, the Chemical FRC were so classy combos even if they were difficult. I'm not really happy of what they made of her in Xrd too.

At least you are not an Axl main

You can Mist Finer full screen, don't complain.

Speaking of ASW games, is Koromaru like the best character in P4A or something? I still haven't watched any matches or read up on the game, but the more I play, the more busted he seems like. He's by far the most Jojo's out of the cast. It feels like I'm playing Devo again, but better.

As I figure out his resets and setups, the less and less I've been playing Mitsuru. His left/right/throw game is kinda nuts and everything is so safe.

Anyway, my apartment building is upgrading our internet this week, so if anyone wants to play this weekend or after I'm down for some practice. Koromaru is so much fun, and every one of the dog attacks is insane. Fake meaty dog attack into throw da best.

As much as I love Force Break specials and stuff, going back to Reload was not a bad idea.

Plus they brought back normals that were in future games too at the very least.

After a bit of learning stuff about Guilty Gear, I decided that I should go to a local GG meetup. I spent the next 5 hours saying "what" while getting my ass kicked. It was really fun, but what
Nothing prepared me for Zappa, Anji, Baiken....well actually everyone except small amounts of Sol and Dizzy.

Pretty much. It's a stupidly matchup-heavy game.

How exactly does Zato's execution work? You negative edge to get Eddie to attack or something?

Yup. Zato obeys button presses, Eddie obeys button releases. Both move when you move the stick. You press 1 or 3, Zato crouches in place obv. but Eddie continues to move. It's a hassle to synchronise their actions so you can command one without doing stupid shit with the other. (eg. make Eddie bite, release buttons, do drill with Zato and start holding P as part of drill input to be able to bite again at will and so on.)

Yeah. Any button released will do an attack for Eddie. It's not that hard, just takes a bit to get used to if you're new to it.

Edit: I dunno what his command grab input for Eddie (not Zato) is. If it's 63214D or 63214]D[

But other than that, he doesn't have any shadow inputs involving motions with the negative edging.

Welcome to anime.

hm, now I have a month to make a choice. Zato or Ramlethal

And whats this about reload on steam having online?

It's just a re-release of an old version of the game that had a fan modded online support for it. Supposedly.

Oh, is it the same as the fan patch made like 10 years? Interface and all? I remember not being able to figure the interface out at all and even being able to connect to others was a pain as half the time it wouldnt work
Wait, I-No got nerfed? I main her in Reload and she's really fun.
I don't know if she's nerfed to be honest. She seems to be less meter dependant than before and the last time I checked people were saying she could dash cancel her normal moves to compensate for the lack of novelty or the removal of some things. I don't know if it stayed inside the game.

And I disagree about going back to #RELOAD being a good idea. Many characters didn't achieved their true potential in #Reload at the time. If you compare reload chars to AC chars the reload ones are pretty basic or boring or stupid. Fortunatly they took some new directions for many characters in Xrd so I'm half relieved. But still going back to #R was not such a smart choice.

Ken and the dog aren't busted, but they are extremely silly. Remember it's Persona, where if Ken does a bad DP or manages to lose neutral he died.

Also I-No isn't nerfed, in Ogawa's last list he had her just under S tier, and she's sommonly seen around A. They just made her barrier to entry a lot lower while still keeping her character intact, which is not a bad thing. She's still not easy to play, the real difficulty in I-No was actually not the execution, people can execute. It was the execution on top of not being able to run and having jank ass buttons to work with.

What makes her so strong in this version?

Her gameplan seems more or less identical to her in previous versions, where she seemed to consistently be ranked lower-mid on tier lists

Not entirely sure. From what I know YRC gives her more ins, and it makes her pressure/mix up better and harder to deal with. Prolly stuff like along with other char/game changes bumped her up. She started in "meh" territory and hung around B tier for awhile, but she's considered a bit better from what I've seen lately.

Not the best char but he's super strong when he's in control of the match. He has holes in his offense and poor defense though so there's more than enough room for folks to do stuff to him and then make him explode. On the other hand, he can easily make someone burst in the wrong place and his average damage is pretty sold to high as well. he can also pick up combos while keeping himself safe if necessary.
