Fighting Games Weekly | September 17-23

Err, there's no stream for that SG event, SolarPowered. If someone comes in with the clutch stream, give me a heads up and I'll add it to OP.
I know

I just put it here to build awareness should the stream situation improve. I added those extra quotes about a possible stream for that reason.

And we lose another to the Marvel Minions. Our time is definitely coming to an end Lord Threi, time to pack it up, we had a good run though.

Next gen and SF5, hurry the fuck up please.

If it's any consolation, I wanna go back and mess around in AE here and there. I need my Mak and Cheese comfort food more often than you'd think.

He did it again... MIKE ROSS!

What happened to you and P4A anyways??

I got the game, I even kind of like it. But that feeling just isn't there. I guess the problem is that I'm not a true fighting game fan, I guess I'm just a SF fan. And to some extent, a Capcom fighter fan. It just doesn't click with me, the desire to want to learn it and break it down isn't there. But to be honest, my desire to play video games in general has crawled to nearly a complete halt. SF4 is the only video game I play nowadays. I got Sleeping Dogs last month but stopped playing after just 2 days.

We must keep fighting the good fight!

I still play SF4 and will be holding down SF4 until SF5, and even after SF5 comes out. Even if I'm one of those 8 guys that still plays it when SF5 comes out int 2014 or 15.

Marvel is my mistress, but SF is who I'm always gonna come home to.

:3

I'm a total newbie when it comes to attending tournaments so I have a question: if I just want to go and watch, do I have to pay to get in? I live 30 minutes away from Cleveland and I've never been to a tournament before, so I've been thinking about going to Season's Beatings: Ascension next weekend.

SF4 was my first fighting game. I still enjoy it but it was time to either get really good with one character(Sim?), know the matchups and grind it out or try something new. I am not a tourney or online warrior, just a fan of fighting games. Also, Sim vs Sagat gets boring after awhile.

Footies and frame advantage is fun and stuffing jump-ins with back fierce or jumping medium punch gets me hype but so does movement, getting that one air-to-air hit and convert it to killing a character, otg and flight combos and super/supers and the many transitions of spacing in marvel and the area each character controls with given assists. It also feels like the anti-thesis of my SF fighting style of zoning & react & punish to getting in there and applying my gameplan on my opponent.

Yeah you generally pay a spectator fee for the entire weekend. Anywhere from 5-15$. I'd link you it now but I'm on my phone, check out the SB thread in Shoryuken.com's Tournaments forum for details on that stuff.

Thank you! Checking the Shoryuken thread right now.

Don't worry Ricer Eater, I still play AE!! (late at night by myself on ranked, heh).

I only play AE and SC5 regularly. Go back to 3S now and then (will forever I think). Playing TTT2 now. Will probably stick with it.

I sold my Persona Arena last week. I didn't click with it and wasn't fun to me. Strangely, I stopped playing UMVC3 on console when SC5 came out, but have been playing a lot on Vita in spurts lately.

Didn't notice Canada Cup teams are already been announced. UK and Netherlands teams are already complete.

The 2 US teams so far.

Justin Wong (captain)
Dieminion
Mike Ross

Ricky Ortiz (captain)
F.Champ
PR Rog

Lol, didn't Poongko leave Totalheads?

The teams already announced look pretty strong so far. I don't really know any of the Netherlands players though. I hope Japan takes it!

USA team 1 = Team BLACK PEOPLE! (Justin is black... he grew up in NYC!)

USA team 2 = Team FGTV and friends!

P.S Does Wolfkrone make it on either team?

Oh and haven't heard of the Netherlands guy.

P.S.S I thought CC was going to be bigger like 2 Japanese team, 2 Europe team, 2 USA team, Singapore again, maybe HK throw China into the mix etc..

They got Poongko and Infiltration on the same team :O

I somehow forgot about Canada Cup. Since they're putting together another big SF4 international team tournament I gotta get that weekend off(I work Sundays) and support it. If they want to do 8.95 again, we can do it all over again lol.

That's if those guys come.

Lapchi paid for most of the international tickets during the first CC anyway, if I remember correctly.

But yeah, I hope they come :<. I know to keep my expectations low though because I have a pretty big list of players who I'd want to see. A French team would be cool too.

The McRib is being delayed. Qistoptier on suicide watch.

Wew kinda glad, Im short on cash this month, MEANS MORE MC RIB TIME NEXT MONTH.

*This has nothing to do with the delay*

Edit: Ohh it got like super delayed haha, guess that means I can save up 2 months worth of money.... Im gonna get fat x.x
