Fighting Games Weekly | September 17-23

Some people just don't like Magus on the mic. It's all good. People are entitled to their opinions, and they are not right or wrong with their tastes on subjective things like this.

They are entitled to not liking whomever that is on the mic, but only cancers killing the FGC will complain about whomever that is on the mic and ask for someone else. For the simple reason that these guys seem to think people flock to be commentators and don't seem to understand how difficult it is to find people willing to spend time and effort to entertain ungrateful stream monsters.

Most of the hate for Magus seems to come from the fact that he speaks the truth, like how Sent doesn't suck and how Strider is a piece of crap without lvl 3 X Factor, so hating him is ridiculous anyway.

I'm perfectly fine with a silent match. Especially if it's over someone who doesn't know shit about the game being played (i.e. Magus).

It is just the same complaining about people making comments about commentators. It isn't easy coming up with so much gold to keep neogaf entertained.

Also for those who watch Australian streams like SS? Heavy Weapons.

Regardless of who is commentating, you'll still watch because your love for the game is far greater. That and you have nothing else to do at the time.

LOL

More like the opposite for Magus "Pick character A, B, or C or else your playing the game wrong" 1234.

His version of the truth is fairly skewed and of course highly subjective. Magus isn't bad when he's on top of things but he has a ton of things he can work on that I don't see changing anytime soon.

Legitimate complaints are brought up and people are still like, "no your wrong, he's great."

Well if someone ever tells me "your wrong" I tell them no you're wrong you idiot you can't even get your and you're correct.

Then they forget what they are even complaining about (usually rage) and I just sit back and sip on some coffee.

I don't like the microwave. I don't know exactly what it does to food, but I hear it's bad. Gootecks scared me when he tweeted some shit about microwaving shit in plastic containers.

There was like this rumor spreading around that if you microwave stuff in plastic container something happens to your food. It's not really that bad, but I guess it builds up over time so throughout the course of your life shit adds up and can be dangerous.

Also when you microwave food if you're using plastic wrap it shouldn't be touching the food because it can melt on to the food or something along those lines.

Those two can be mostly filed under common sense. Think of it like cooking in plastic with wrap over it in the oven. Bad idea and nothing to do with how a microwave or oven works.

All up though, most things will kill you in some way, especially life.

The second one is true, and I doubt the first one. Why abandon microwaves over this, though? Just put your food on a plate.

I don't think you're meant to let cling wrap touch food at all. Something about how it works at a microscopic level, if it touches food it's going to get it's plastic all in there and give you cancer.

Maybe for home made cling wrap.

Trading food tips I see?

You can keep tortilla chips from going stale by storing them in herbs freezer after opening the bag.

Try dampening a paper towel and throwing it on top of leftover/refridgerated (white) rice when you heat it up in the microwave. If the rice was hard it should have a freshly cooked texture.

When making burger patties from scratch, try to handle the meat as little as possible and don't pack the patties super tight. Also leave the middle slightly thinner than the rest of your patties.

Works on dry pork chops too. Like those left over Chinese take outs ;P

My God, THIS. Seeing people heat up white rice with no wet paper towel just makes me sick.

Will you defend Ski when everybody and their mom hates on him?

I don't put plastics in the microwave anymore myself. I use glassware to take lunch for work. The plastic stuff I used would smell weird when it got really hot.

I use a rice cooker. I never eat the rice right when it's done. I let sit for 10-20 minutes. I trreat it like a steak. Heh.

Cafeid's Lacid (5th for KOFXIII at Evo) is comfirmed for Season's beatings.

Thanks for this.

Hey if you ever get stale potato chips. Microwave it and bam! It's like new!

Also works with stale bread.

Edit: Wrap a wet paper towel around the bread. Makes it nice and moist.

OMG!!! These tips.

If the commentators knew as much as people who study the game constantly, then they'd probably be trying to play the game instead of talk about it. People may not like Magus because he gets things wrong, but only 10% of viewers will catch that. Probably 80% of the audience enjoys his speaking cadences, phrases and overall passion for the game. That's why you see so many people defending him.

So for those who know enough about the game to point out the flaws in his opinion, and cant deal with the fact that he is not a virtuoso at every popular fighting game being played right now, take some advice from Joe Dirte,

"It's not what you like, it's the consumer."

Been getting into Mahvel over SF4. Sim is still fun but the synergy and how different a match changes based off of assists and who is on screen makes UMVC3 so much fun and interesting.

I find myself thinking about fun marvel teams to play rather than my matchups in SF.

I moved Doom from point to anchor and relish the dirtiness of hidden missles, xf3 doom, lvl3s and chipping people to death. Nova/Storm/Doom is my basic team.

And we lose another to the Marvel Minions. Our time is definitely coming to an end Lord Threi, time to pack it up, we had a good run though.

Next gen and SF5, hurry the fuck up please.
