Fighting Games Weekly | September 3-9

James Chen is getting fucking annoying, always talks about how he wants everybody to play all games but then most of his twitter posts are complaining about one thing another. With Persona it was "Oh it's so complicated, commentators really need to explain the game." and now with Tekken it's "If people use custom costumes it is gonna be too hard to identify characters and people won't want to watch."

He is so goddamn negative about anything that isn't a Capcom fighter, and it is such bullshit that he acts like he wants every game to do well.

Hes negative about everything and right about most of them (Other than Cammy not being top tier. Sorry Chen shes godlike)

I just saw the design of the TTT2 sticks...

I love me some Markman, but holy fuck those are THE ugliest stick art designs I've ever seen. :/

I really don't think they're ugly. It's a clean look that has a story behind it and it gives the user an option of using something more character/art driven.

It's also a throwback (PS3 one at least) to yesteryear. But to each his own <3 !

We will have to agree to disagree on that one.

I guess the point I mostly wanted to get across that I didn't really was that I am more annoyed that he is always talking about "Everyone should learn this game!" Then doesn't set the example to do so. Did he pick up KOF? Skullgirls? Persona? Does anyone actually think he is gonna pick up TTT2? He talks so much shit about how everyone should try out every game and pick it up, but then always falls back on "I would have played it but I am just so busy!" He needs to take his own advice and talk less about playing the game, and actually just play the game.

"Everyone should pick up this game!"

3 weeks later...

"See, I told you so! The community for said game is dead!"

Incoming based Ponder and Koogy.

He only has so much time and his experience is based in Capcom fighters.

The reason he's so negative is simple- all this has happened before, and all this will happen again. Games fail to sustain at a competitive high level all the time, and it requires a lot of support in order to keep them afloat.

They also, of course, need to not be terrible. (No amount of money-hatting was going to save SFxT)

The only thing that I don't like about the TTT2 sticks are the bezels, but the other new features more than make up for it.

Guess I should start on working on a new stick art piece that involves the color green.

WARNING: INCOMING DRAMA

Fair enough. To each his own indeed.

Any plans for some character art ones? I saw a panel on the site with some lady characters from the game that was animeeeee. :P

Can't check right now, but is there new features on this one compared to the SFxT sticks?

The TTT2 stick looks good, but my favorite design is the SFxT fightstick pro. They were heading in an interesting direction with that new shape. Mine arrives today.

Too busy with the EVO games like everyone else. Now it's over.

Alright, alright. "NEOGAF9" at checkout is 15% off. :3

I'm actually in SoCal right now, and I think I'm going to try to hit up WNF tonight... getting the crap beat out of me at P4A by Pulsr made me sad, and hungry to win. >:|

And Hi THEANSWER! :D! Always great seeing you!

TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2.

I kinda wish that Namco had had a booth at PAX, so there would have been more machines there to play on. It was nice that MadCatz had it up and running, but I don't actually play Tekken at all, and when I got in line I saw Justin Wong and F. Champ up there playing. So I figured, yeah, I'm not going to get up there and subject all the onlookers to me trying to fumble around and figure out what button was what.

Game looked great though. Hoping for a nice cheap deal for the holidays.

The hori TTT2 sticks are super sexy. Especially the ps3 version. May have to splurge on replacing my v3sa with it down the road.
