Final Fantasy 7 Remake Announced (First on PS4)

Replayed FF7.

1. Bugenhagen lied to Red XIII (Nanaki) and told him his dad ran off and left him and his mother to die in an attack. I don't see why he wouldn't just tell him the truth. A huge disservice to his dad and to Red XIII for no reason. It didn't do him any good, and made him feel resentment towards his father his whole life. Bugenhagen, what a dick!

2. Odd that The Golden Saucer has one entrance, and it's located in a giant pile of rubble where an entire city was razed to the ground. Seems like they would try to clean that up to make it more attractive to prospective visitors.

3. In ending FMV, there is a shot where you can see Midgar getting hit by Meteor from the observatory in Cosmo Canyon. Nevermind that it's on the other side of a round planet, it looks like it's 2 miles away max. Just horrible.

4. Aeris likely goes on dates for money to earn a living. It all adds up. Selling flowers for 1 gil a piece while living in a huge house, being so savvy about the red light district, being so well-versed at flirtation and manipulation of scummy men, and offering a 'date' as compensation to Cloud in exchange for his services. Seems obvious to me.

5. Wutai vs Midgar is not supposed to be "West vs. East," but rather 'modernity vs. antiquity." After all, Midgar is pretty Japanese... just modern like Tokyo.

6. I think the big materia section of the 2nd disc was horrible and pointless. In fact, it's clearly just filler. I have no idea why we were collecting them and when we finished, we did jack shit with them. All we did was sabotage Rufus, who is an asshole, but very competent and one of the only people actively trying to fix the problem. His mako cannon twice saved the day, and was the only reason the team was able to confront Sephiroth in the first place.

7. Jenova theme is the best.

8. Odd that it is raining in the flashback where Tifa meets Cloud in the Sector 7 slum station. I guess it's not under a plate after all?

9. The ending clearly destroys humanity. But, it seems retconned.

10. The Save Crystal in the last area really didn't serve any purpose. Everyone uses it at the same place, I'm sure.

11. Cait Sith's 'death' is so dumb. Not only is he not a real person, but he shows up 2 seconds later with a new one. Maybe that's some Japanese humor... that they would do that big bitter-sweet scene where he sacrifices himself, only to pop up two seconds later.

12. I always treat Aeris like shit. She don't love u. Tifa is the only true choice.

13. Midgar is 20x more interesting than the rest of the game. It kinda becomes hard to suspend disbelief once you see how superficial the world is. Kalm, a shitty village 100 years in the past... just abandon the aesthetic and style of the game completely right out the Midgar gates.

14. The second disc is awful after the Northern Crater. The Midgar section should have been much longer, like the length of the 1st disc. The 2nd disc could have been the rest of the world and the game should have concluded at the Northern Crater the first time. Oh well.

15. Game's too easy. Materia is way OP, KOTR and 4x Cut are game-breaking.

Now, with all these things considered, I now fully embrace a remake. They will give way more coherence to the plot and make the world seem more believable. And maybe give it an interesting battle system. A straight rehash would be boring. So, really looking forward to it!

No LO has been addressed as not canon multiple times. It didn't even need to be addressed since it's so obvious it's not but it was so there's that.

LO was listed in both Crisis Core Ultimania and Final Fantasy VII Ultimania 10th Anniversary Edition with no mention of it being not canon.

I like MOTP. I think it's one of the most accurate character representations regarding the compilation.

I think it properly deals with Zack and Aeris unlike CC which I'm fine with being young love but god it's horribly done.
Interesting. Most of the opinions I've come across regarding MOTP aren't very favorable. It'll be interesting to read it and compare my own impressions.

Honestly I was disappointed with how CC handled things like Aerith and Zack's romance or Cloud and Zack's friendship. Too much screen time was given to crap like Genesis when ideally I think it would've been an adventure about the exploitation of Zack, Sepiroth and Cloud the grunt with Zack and Aerith getting more fleshed out. Would've been great. Hell even Angeal wouldn't have been so bad if had been tweaked (and don't make him give Zack the BS).

Funnily enough Cissnei seemed like more of a love interest than Aerith in some ways.

What's so obvious about it? I haven't watched it in quite some time.

But it's been mentioned as not canon more than once while MOTP hasn't. They've gone out of their way to dismiss LO while they haven't with MOTP which has obviously had canon discussion going on for years. If they really were agaisnt it as a canon work they would have dismissed it by now like they did LO.

Cissnei was a far more interesting romance for Zack especially with how involved she was with him. Aeris and Zack was so forced and used all of Cloud and Aeris's moments to try and create something special between the two.

Anyway I enjoyed MOTP's writing of Aeris. It's also the more realsitic ending for Zack and her when they were only young lovers and obviously she had time to move on. It also didn't help that Zack was pushed as a flirt and MOTP seems to imply he wasn't exactly the most faithful boyfriend.

Lot's of stuff that directly contradicts the original game. Cloud and Tifa seeing each other when she obviously never knows he's in Nibelheim, the ending with Zack getting snipered(though this contradiction would technically work if it didn't end likehe was killed being snipered) and a couple other big things.

And one could also easily say that if they were really for it as a canon work whey would actually put it in the list of canon works like they did rest of the Compilation. This is exactly what I'm talking about! Currently, both sides of the argument could never negate each other and hence never-ending back-and-forth happens.

It's not like it matters anyway, yar? We could all just believe in whatever in the absence of the Word of God. I personally see it more like a Schrödinger's Canon or something.

Hear hear.

It just makes Aeris' infatuation a little more peculiar in hindsight too. Probably why I never really dug the Cloud x Aeris ship on whatever level (and yeah besides her dying being a factor)

EDIT: What's "MOTP" and what am I missing here?

when I replayed the game a year or so ago this part really bothered me too. they make getting the huge materia so important, so urgent... and it isn't.

9. The ending clearly destroys humanity. But, it seems retconned.
after the credits roll you see some Nanaki-looking-dudes, they're looking over Midgar, and I think you hear like a crowd of children playing or something, no? Meteor did some damage, but the Lifesteam stopped it from destroying the planet

that must have been intended to be funny. it's so stupid. I thought it was funny.

Maiden of the planet. It's a novel that takes place from Aeris's point of view in the Lifestream as she watches the events of VII.
And one could also easily say that if they were really for it as a canon work whey would actually put it in the list of canon works like they did rest of the Compilation. But I'm telling you it is in the canon compilation list. Ultimania Omega is acknowledged by SE as official and it's listed in there.

You're right it doesn't really matter since it's not like MOTP needs to exist to confirm what anyone with half a brain can see in VII regarding Aeris's feelings.

Cissnei was a far more interesting romance for Zack especially with how involved she was with him. Aeris and Zack was so forced and used all of Cloud and Aeris's moments to try and create something special between the two.
Yeah I wasn't too happy with the constant "HEY! HEEEEY! Look at this moment! Remind you of something!???" that they has going on. I didnt mind Zack getting her a bow or anything. But stuff like him meeting her exactly the same way... eeeehhhh (though I'll admit I loved it way back when lol). It could've been so much better.

Thanks for the impressions. I'm looking forward to checking it out. Though I don't know how much I like the idea of those implications. Though I just love a good romance so I'm a bit biased ;)

Ohhhhh... makes sense. Though funnily enough I always thought that a sniper bullet is what caught Zack off guard in the original game.

Maiden of the Planet or alternatively Maiden who travels the Planet. It's one of various novelella that take place in the FF7 universe.

As you can see though it is debated as to whether or not it is actually canon.

Yeah it was just really cheesy. You can promote the relationship without resorting to copying what made Cloud and Aeris moments interesting.

It just felt like CC was half assing Zack and Aeris's relationship and I don't know if that was their intention or they just wanted to try to make them a cute young couple but either way it didn't work very well. Then again, VII doesn't really go out of it's way to show the relationship.

Thanks for the impressions. I'm looking forward to checking it out. Though I don't know how much I like the idea of those implications. Though I just love a good romance so I'm a bit biased ;)
No problem! :)

Honestly CC gave those implications to me but not as strongly as MOTP. Zack was a flirt with Cissnei and maybe those were the things that Aeris didn't like. It's a fun read especially to get an idea of how Aeris felt watching all of the events unfold. Even the Tifa helping Cloud restore his memories is an interesting read.

Ohhhhh... makes sense. Though funnily enough I always thought that a sniper bullet is what caught Zack off guard in the original game.
Zack is caught off guard when he goes to check on Cloud and the three guards sneak up and shoot him to death.

The implication can be drawn from it if you consider their previous relationship. Whether you consider it an actual implication of their relationship or just coincidence due to their mutual relation to Cloud is a matter interpretation.

noot really, they are pretty much there for cloud when you consider their actions in the movie, so going from that to a supposed relationship, when the role they take is nothing of the sort, just because they are now on the lifestream doesnt really make sense, especially when you consider all the outside info on their role and motivations in the movie

I'm aware of those but I could've sworn it was the Mwttp that had her rejecting Zack. When you consider her actions in the original FF7 it was apparent that she still had some feelings for him. How far those feelings go is another matter.

I should really go back and read that stuff again to refresh my memory really.

she rejects him in MwttP, but i'm talking about the AC novellas which show that she really does love cloud more and moved on from Zack, FF7 only showed that she still had lingering feelings but she ultimately started to fall for cloud, and she started to fall for him not because of the Cloud=Zack thing

The cutscene doesn't play out any differently if you have high affection or not iirc so for all intents and purposes I think it's safe to say they boned. Ultimately they did sail away on that ship regardless of whether they played hide the pickle though :p

but the scene does play out differently, the high affection shows cloud being more open and then theres the implication of the sex, while in the low, cloud is more apathetic toward tifa, and the aftermath of the scene makes it obvious no sex was involved

As I'm 3/4 of the way through a replay my self (this is my 10th time through the game, yay for round numbers!) I wanted to put in my input on some of these, as some I agree with, some I disagree with a great deal.

Agreed in some fashion, it makes sense he didnt wnat Red XIII to be reckless and seek vengeance, but yeah it was a dick move and overall I dislike the charecter of Bugenhagen.

2. Odd that The Golden Saucer has one entrance, and it's located in a giant pile of rubble where an entire city was razed to the ground. Seems like they would try to clean that up to make it more attractive to prospective visitors.

I always found this weird and funny, especially given that the entrance would have been built AFTER the city was razed, as before the goldensaucer was a rather new building. Saying this though, its not unheard off. Disneyland is surrounded by absolute shit like pawn shops and cheap hotels and looks scummy, Six Flags in Texas is the same way. Maybe its just a dialogue on theme parks :p

3. In ending FMV, there is a shot where you can see Midgar getting hit by Meteor from the observatory in Cosmo Canyon. Nevermind that it's on the other side of a round planet, it looks like it's 2 miles away max. Just horrible.

Stupid yes, but its actually a nice shot, seems it was an artistic shot to give one last shot of a important area you visited. In that regard I dont mind it.

This actually makes me like the thought of her charecter more! Gives her some real depth and shows she wasnt some jesus figure, she was Mary Magdalene! Love it.

5. Wutai vs Midgar is not supposed to be "West vs. East," but rather 'modernity vs. antiquity." After all, Midgar is pretty Japanese... just modern like Tokyo.

I thought this was already well known and established. Its not just Wutai, its everything else in the world, how technology is displacing the old culture. Its one of the huge over arching themes of the world and really pushed well in my opinion (and something I'll comment on to one of your critisims below) This theme of old vs new, pretty new tech vs tradition, killing the planet to live a better QoL vs hard work in the traditional world is just such a great theme and not used well enough in fiction. I love FF7 for it.

Materia in the game is life it self compressed and consolidated, its a part of the life stream (a big part) and where its "magic" power comes from. Huge material is part of the world, part of the life stream (remember the world is a living thing in this game), destroying it would mean destroying a part of the life stream, destroying souls/memories. Its the same reason we were blowing up mako reactors, because using that energy is killing the planet and destroying souls. Its unfortunately a point not well addressed in the game, just subtly suggested in the begining, talked a little about but never really forced in your face as "this is why materia, and mako energy (same thing) are bad to use and destroy!"

7. Jenova theme is the best.
Its great, though I think "holding my thoughts in my heart" aka, the overworld theme, is the best.

8. Odd that it is raining in the flashback where Tifa meets Cloud in the Sector 7 slum station. I guess it's not under a plate after all?

If its raining above the plates water would still drip down, not a huge issue.

9. The ending clearly destroys humanity. But, it seems retconned.
I never once felt this way, the children laughing at the cut to black felt like a clear message that "humans survived, they just abandoned midgar/mako energy probably. But yes its weird to think how Midgar turned to overgrown bushes/life after AC.

10. The Save Crystal in the last area really didn't serve any purpose. Everyone uses it at the same place, I'm sure.

Isnt it so if you fail to beat the final bosses you can jump back to just before them on your reload?

11. Cait Sith's 'death' is so dumb. Not only is he not a real person, but he shows up 2 seconds later with a new one. Maybe that's some Japanese humor... that they would do that big bitter-sweet scene where he sacrifices himself, only to pop up two seconds later.

It was suppose to be dumb and a wink and a nod, at least thats how I took it. The overly serious monologue and music, it was just TOO in your face not to be taken as a dead pan play on the silliness of it.
12. I always treat Aeris like shit. She don't love u. Tifa is the only true choice.
Correct.

13. Midgar is 20x more interesting than the rest of the game. It kinda becomes hard to suspend disbelief once you see how superficial the world is. Kalm, a shitty village 100 years in the past... just abandon the aesthetic and style of the game completely right out the Midgar gates.
Here is where we really disagree, I love Midgar, think its great, but we had exactly enough of it in my opinion. The contrast of Midgar to the other towns is what makes the game so great to me. Going back to that new world vs old world feel is amazing and plays perfectly to me. The aesthetic was intentionally suppose to change that dramatically, it gives you such a great moment of "woah, Midgar really is the mecka hub of inovation and technology, everything else is still dark". Exact same thing with Juno and the coastal town is completely destroyed. Progress has displaced the old world and you are jumping in right as the change is in full swing. Love it.

14. The second disc is awful after the Northern Crater. The Midgar section should have been much longer, like the length of the 1st disc. The 2nd disc could have been the rest of the world and the game should have concluded at the Northern Crater the first time. Oh well.

WAY Disagree. No way the game should have ended at the Norther Crater there. Its great that you get to go back some and see other places, get the Highwind, travel and see the story move into its 3rd gear, exploring clouds memories were great. I'm a bit bias as I love EVERYTHING FF7 and could never get enough, but not once did I say "stupid filler crap!" during the game. Heck the return to Midgar was worth it alone, along with the rocket launch and mideel.

15. Game's too easy. Materia is way OP, KOTR and 4x Cut are game-breaking.

100% agreed, I hope the remake either gives us difficulty options or is harder in general. The difficulty is the only major flaw I have with FF7, but part of that is because I've played it so often I basically have a strategy guide in my head.

Now, with all these things considered, I now fully embrace a remake. They will give way more coherence to the plot and make the world seem more believable. And maybe give it an interesting battle system. A straight rehash would be boring. So, really looking forward to it!

I always wondered if this was done because the creators suspected that, soon after the game's release, it might be impossible to prevent word getting out about a party member dying. So when Cait Sith gets crushed, people would assume that's what they'd heard about.

Either that, or (and I think this is more likely) it was just done to add more impact to the real party member's death. Wacky Cait Sith "died" and then came back. Ha ha. Dumb but silly. You either laugh or groan. Then WHAM. Aeris is gone for good.

The cutscene doesn't play out any differently if you have high affection or not iirc
It's subtle. It plays out in how Tifa reacts to the news that the party saw her and Cloud. If the affection level is low, she just sort of kicks the ground or something. If it's high, she collapses in embarrassment. So! :3

Square-Enix's Compilation fanfiction can say whatever it wants about the relationships, but in the context of VII and VII alone, it's pretty clear what happens.

Not a bad theory.

I'm beginning to wonder if we will get new (guest?) party characters... After all, they made Reno playable in Record Keeper (a choice which left many JP players puzzled it seems), though I don't see him joining our party if they stay true to the script (plus, with him blowing up Sector 7, he is kind of a mass-murderer, even if he was just following orders ~ how does one even cope with this?). Though the Turks do help us against Don Corneo in Wutai, they could add a boss battle with us playing as/with Reno and Rude.

I wouldn't mind seeing some new events (or a side-story in which we play the Turks), but after seeing what they have done with the FFVII compilation (of which I don't really want to see any elements added to the remake), I'm not quite sure I'm trusting Square-Enix.

This is actually the biggest thing that bugs me in the game. Forget Reno, the Avalanche is a straight-up eco-terrorist group that caused civilian casualties with their bombings. It's all just glossed over with Barret saying something like "I did things I regret" near the end of the game.

Now that I think about it, I wouldn't mind one change: the slapfight between Scarlet and Tifa. We are talking about a crazy, haughty, frail yet proficient gun user (hey, she is the one who hit Barret and Dyne while all of her soldiers combined weren't able to hit anything; I would not want to be the target of her sniper rifle) against a skilled martial-artist. On top of a giant phallus.

That was just ridiculous. Let Scarlet slaps Tifa (once), Tifa slaps her (once) in return, Scarlet staggers immediatly (because Tifa is a freakin' martial artist with much more power in her arms that crazy evil blondie), Tifa taunts her, Scarlet gets mad, asks a rifle from a soldier and let them have a real boss battle on top of the giant cannon in which Tifa kicks her ass, before jumping off on the High Wind.

Not really, they tackle this immediately after the plate falls.

Barret rationalizes the events by blaming Shinra, which he isn't wrong.

No one would really expect them to drop an entire section of a city with civilians and infrastructure still on it onto a smaller city just to kill a handful of people.

No one would expect that shit. What's even funnier is that when you infiltrate the Shinra HQ Reeve goes into how ridiculously expensive that dumb thing they did was and the President like "nah it's fine".

Cant agree with this one, KOTR is of course OP, but to get it is ridiculously hard, so that makes sense.

I'm not talking about the plate falls. The bombing of Sector 1 Reactor actually causes deaths.

Is this game coming to Xbox One?

May have been discussed earlier but there's too many pages to look through.

It looks like a timed PS4 exclusive. They have always said PS4 first, clearly that means other platforms will get the game. I'm going with the safe bet they didn't just mean PC.

From what Kagiri has posted, it looks more like an exclusive for this generation, or at most pc.

I think timed exclusive works for Sony in this particular case anyway. I wouldn't be able to wait and play FF VIIr even if it's something like a month later on another platform.

Barret was never really a good or bad guy. Neither were Cloud or Tifa. They are complex characters with various motivations.

Cloud only did it for the money and for Tifa. He didn't give a shit about AVALANCHE really but he hated Shinra and that was enough for him to join AVALANCHE.

Section 7 was the story telling you "This is one of the many reasons why the Shinra Corporation is bad". President Shinra deserved his death.

When Sephiroth & Jenova entered the picture is when the story started to moralize the characters and make them into good people fighting against a wholly bad cause against Shinra and Sephiroth.

I'm not really talking about good or evil here. When I play a game controlling a group of honest-to-goodness eco-terrorists who commit actual bombings, I kind off expect that plot thread to go somewhere instead of suddenly being concluded with a short "terrorism is wrong, guys" monologue.

Fair enough, but consider that the primary audience for this game was teenagers so maybe the plot wasn't as fleshed out as it could've been for a more mature audience.

Replayed FF7.

13. Midgar is 20x more interesting than the rest of the game. It kinda becomes hard to suspend disbelief once you see how superficial the world is. Kalm, a shitty village 100 years in the past... just abandon the aesthetic and style of the game completely right out the Midgar gates.

I agree.
I feel FFVIII did a great job recovering from this, as that world seems much more 'connected'. It just works very well aesthetically. You can believe that design and architecture was shared among the various regions in a lot of aspects, yet there are enough cultural differences to add flavor & variety (i.e. Galbadia vs. Balamb).
Hell, I still consider VIII's world design the most well imagined of the series. Naora just did a wonderful job making the world seem like it had a real history, as opposed to just staggered sets like VII.

It looks like a timed PS4 exclusive. They have always said PS4 first, clearly that means other platforms will get the game. I'm going with the safe bet they didn't just mean PC.
They'll probably wait & see how games like FFXV & KHIII do on XBone vs. PS4 before making the final decision if this will be a timed exclusive or a full (console) exclusive. If FFXV sells something like 80%-90% of copies on PS4, they might not want to bother with an Xbone version, especially if they go all out on the PS4 version and that makes porting the game to a weaker platform difficult.

Yes- but we also don't know any specifics on what kind of deals are being made. All we know is PS4 is listed first and Kagari mentioned as far as she knew the deal is similar to SFV, leading me to believe Sony is stepping in some way to keep this specific to their console. After the E3 reaction, if they hadn't jumped in before, I'd imagine they'd certainly try by now. FFVII Remake, as a console exclusive, would be a killer app IMO.

Nomura has been very vocal since VersusXIII that he likes concentrating on one platform. If Sony isn't stepping up with any kind of development or publishing deals, I still expect S-E to fully concentrate on taking advantage of the PS4 first and foremost. It might be like the RotT, where the X1 might get a port a year later, possibly due to a third-party handling the port. We just don't know at this point.

Hopefully we'll know more in the winter. :)

From what Kagiri has posted, it looks more like an exclusive for this generation, or at most pc.

I don't believe for a second that Sony gave them money and said "we'll just sort out the details later", nor do I believe that they said "Tell them it's coming our way first and we will sort out the details later".

They know full well, right now, what platforms it will or will not be on. They did from day 1. The only, singular reason to say "coming to PS4 first", is because it's not just coming to PS4. They can't call it an exclusive, because it isn't. If they could, you can bet your ass they would have.

It doesn't matter so much what platforms or when, but it is 100% sure to reach more than PS4. I would wager anything on that.

Well, the original was also on PC, but it came first to PS1.

It'll be interesting to see how they handle stuff like the eco terrorism and whatnot this time around. Will they explore the implications and consequences at all? Could really be interesting. I remember being pretty happy with Cait Sith for calling Barret out on his shit.

noot really, they are pretty much there for cloud when you consider their actions in the movie, so going from that to a supposed relationship, when the role they take is nothing of the sort, just because they are now on the lifestream doesnt really make sense, especially when you consider all the outside info on their role and motivations in the movie

she rejects him in MwttP, but i'm talking about the AC novellas which show that she really does love cloud more and moved on from Zack, FF7 only showed that she still had lingering feelings but she ultimately started to fall for cloud, and she started to fall for him not because of the Cloud=Zack thing
It would seem you have a much better knowledge of the outside materials than I at the moment. I'll have to go back and review everything before I debate this further as I don't want to just be grasping at straws.

but the scene does play out differently, the high affection shows cloud being more open and then theres the implication of the sex, while in the low, cloud is more apathetic toward tifa, and the aftermath of the scene makes it obvious no sex was involved

In regards to this though, I would say it's pretty safe to say the high affection scene is canon. It seems to be treated as much in canon from what I have managed to find regarding the series.

Without some statement saying otherwise, Cloud and Tifa sail into the sunset dammit! At least one of the damn romances in this series needs to actually pull through.

Yeah, seriously. We are in a post-9/11 world now. I am very much interested in how they will handle Avalanche being a terrorist organization.

14. The second disc is awful after the Northern Crater. The Midgar section should have been much longer, like the length of the 1st disc. The 2nd disc could have been the rest of the world and the game should have concluded at the Northern Crater the first time. Oh well.

Oh my. Now that you say it... last thing I remember in that game is a
wheel chaired gyrating Cloud
and a train scene. I think after that I quit and never finished. Is that about the same time?

Why do they have to sail into the sunset? Why couldnt have just been a one night stand? Cloud seems the type for that.

Is this game coming to Xbox One?

May have been discussed earlier but there's too many pages to look through.

I'd bet on PS4 then PC. Microsoft will pimp it as a Windows 10 title when it is contractually allowed to come to the platform. I might be way off base here, but I can't imagine anyone at the Xbox division not saying that the title of a generation will eventually be coming to Xbox at a later date if it is.

It's interesting to note that Cloud and Tifa's love scenes were some of the few scenes not written by Kazushige Nojima or Yoshinori Kitase. They were written by Masato Kato. It's almost like Kato figuratively kicked in the door of the FFVII dev team and said "Yeah those two totally banged all night long" whereas the rest of the dev team constantly try to downplay CloudxTifa in favor of a supposed love triangle and narrative ambiguity.

I always wondered if this was done because the creators suspected that, soon after the game's release, it might be impossible to prevent word getting out about a party member dying. So when Cait Sith gets crushed, people would assume that's what they'd heard about.

I kind of love that theory.

I really hope they don't try to paint them in a better light like making sure there aren't any civilians or some crap. Not because I want them to be painted as horrible villains or anything, but because I want the seriousnous and ramifications of what they are doing become more apparent. It could be an excellent example of people fighting for a good cause yet in a way that may do more harm than good, and could be making them no better than the monsters they are trying to fight.

Not sure how well I'm wording this...

lol You almost had me there... you were joking right? RIGHT?

For the sake of argument though it's the childhood romance thing. Tifa is still clearly into Cloud and Cloud went off to become a member of SOLDIER go impress her in the first place (and also to prove himself). Dude most definitely is still into her now too.

lmao somebody give that man a medal. And this guy too for learning me a thing.

Cloud getting in that ass? That conflicts with the innocent "I want to be in SOLDIER to protect you, Tifa" scene that was established in Disc 1.

You two are fun. Cloud's like the jerk from Hitch, he wants that souther girl until he's had her. Then he turns into AC Cloud and avoids her calls at all cost.

Cloud before and after the mako intoxication crisis were two completly different personas, before, he was just a creation of his mind and jenova, after? that was the real Cloud :)

None of them were AC's Cloud tho, AC's cloud is soldier Cloud, the one that was ashamed of himself -_- but he was 16 when he was like that

I understand perfectly and I agree. Shit needs to be heavy.
