But... it was just an unnecessary goofy fetch-quest part that slows the pacing down to a crawl. I recall it was the first part of the game that made me feel bored.
Yeah, it brings a bit of levity to the serious & somber Cloud, but it's an absolutely expendable scene. Just my 2 cents on it.
Well, for one I think it's important to adjust the pace of the story. You can't have only peaks, you need valleys as well. And the Wall Market is the valley between Sector 5 reactor/Aeris attempted abduction and Shinra HQ. You need downtime between those two scenarios.
Secondly, it doesn't even have to be that long. You can get the wig and dress and be on your way pretty quickly. The Honeybee Inn part is entirely optional.
I'm at minimum going to buy two copies. One for me and one for my gf. A third might be an option if a CE happens (I'd be stunned if it doesnt)

It's popularity never waned. Just the faith in Square Enix. Believe it or not Last Guardian and Shenmue announcements only helped this and turned the conference into a good will show. Sony succeeded in mostly every way.

It's going to be huge, the only question is how huge. They've easily got the old fans who've wanted this to happen since...forever. But they're also going to be able to grab those new gamers that are going to want to see what the fuss is about. You can see a lot of people saying stuff like "I've never played FF7, but this still gets me hyped". That was a trailer clearly targeted at those of us that have played FF7, and yet it still manages to connect with those that have never played it.

yeah, the teaser trailer itself is really well made, even if FF7 never happened and it's basically a new IP or FF16, people would still be excited for the trailer because it genuinely look cool and interesting.

I'm cool with all of these. I think the soundtrack being included (CD or digital) is almost a guarantee considering how popular the OST is
I've already forewarned my girlfriend that another PS4 might enter the household in a couple of years

They need to find a way to still keep that slightly anime look to the things like steam/electric crackles/glows.
I truely believe the thing people love most about FF7 is its ambiance and atmosphere. More than any other FF ever made, FF7 just drips with amazing atmosphere, set peices and the feeling of greatness, mixed in a steam punk/cyber punk package.
I agree with this post 100% but if you've seen AV -- or the realistic FF7R promo, which we all have -- there's no way anyone believes it could possibly be as charming or stylized as this.
I mean, it makes me sad, but it's probably time to accept it.

That said, I'd like it to surprise me as much as possible, for example tackling some topics like gender, race, nature in a modern and updated way.
Tifa revealing herself a transvester halfway? That would be gold if possible
Plus: Aeris returning somehow near the end, or never truly dying or dying and returning in whatever form, that would be also appreciated.

From how everything sounds and that trailer I think it will very much be a full blown ground up remake like REmake. I think we're in for some surprises as well.
The new look along with these surprises have me on edge.

The reveal trailer nailed the atmosphere and art.

I played the FF7 demo on PS1 back in the day, didn't like it, and never ended up playing the game. I can't wait to finally right that wrong.

Not sure if you were a Nintendo fan or not but I have a 41yo coworker who is and still refuses to play anything if it's not on a Nintendo platform. So sad....no one should miss FF7:R

same game, with massively enhanced visuals. Better translation perhaps and some fixes here and there. But a full on new game? We have gotten multiple new games from FFVII universe. We never wanted that. We never asked for that.
I just wanted Final Fantasy VII: 2015 version.
So yeah im with him. Hype has died down, but will leave complete fail for when they actually show the new game. We'll see.

Yes. I was blindly loyal to Nintendo back then. But I was still in high school and didn't know better. After the N64 I stopped supporting Nintendo entirely. Haven't looked back since.
