Lyrain was right, I was wrong.
/Shame
I'm honestly extremely surprised about the change before Orlandu is all. But for those wondering what's in the Video
Next Thursday is 2.0 Version
Odin, Story Content, and Giglamesh Trial
Summon Change so no more troll colours again.
FFZero2 Event and FFXIV Event mentioned, Most likely that means Orlandu getting pushed back again.
New Global Exclusive unit Olive, so the next banner is Oliva, Shine, and whoever the third one was.
Broken clock is right twice a day, lol?
I was right on the crystal change is happening AND Marie was bumped up to make room for a new Global Exclusive 5*? Feeling better about my RL interview next week.
Heh, maybe I am heading into the right profession after all.
*** Interesting that that Olive's TM weapon is a core weapon for Lightning, which is something that didn't happen until much, much later on JP (post-enhancements).
No way it goes from "the crystal change in global would take away from the gaming experience for our players" and "the global pool isnt large enough for it yet" bullshit to this.
Fuck them, there's heat from fire emblems or they are losing money now. No other way about it. FUCK, FUCK, FUCK them.
I'm happy though!
But I highly doubt it's reactionary to a game that released a week ago basically. Game development takes time and most likely they had the 2.0 Version in the works for a while.
I'm agreeing with Shintoki on this one, but you're not that far off the answer Malakhov. The change was likely planned well in advance (these things take considerable time to push through the development pipeline).
Surely, the change was planned to be early because Gumi expected FE to draw a significant amount of players and revenue from the game, which was surely not expected at Global's inception. Even so, given the language of the devs on the last stream, they were either: A) lying to hide this fact (announcing the crystal change early is bad for business) or B) the early projections for FE are in, the short-term metrics are really spooking Gumi, and they have decided to fire off "the nuclear option" early in an attempt to stem the bleeding now before it really becomes a problem to the long-term health of the game.
Either way, the result is a win for players.
Even if the draw rates are still garbage for rainbows, the sheer number of true gold crystals will inflate power creep considerably on Global. I'm ok with this personally, especially if any rainbow will at least be a true rainbow for TM farming purposes.
