I'm still a complete noob to this game, but I'm having a lot more fun now that I have a decent Chizuru. Not gonna lie, I still have no idea what most people in this thread are talking about. For now just having fun trying to farm white orbs and doing the story.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, Eschaton keeps wiping me

Use Magic Break

Have SPR buffs and element up

Make sure you aren afflicted with Darkness damage debuff

Stack as much Demon killer as you can on your main DPS

You should be able to one shot it with Twin Tidus. Diabolos, Sun barrette, Demon killer materia

Get that water imperial up and have double tidus quick hit for an easy win

Daily and two tickets today were Chizuru, Abel (new), and Fang. I'd be more excited for a new Abel if I didn't already have 4 dual wields. Should have pulled more yesterday when my luck was good.

Finished the story event. I was pretty disappointed with this one story-wise.
It's mostly just the three veritas talking in circles without saying anything. We get a little of what makes FV tick and that's probably the best of it. EV just comes across as an asshole and DV adds basically nothing. Is this Rain's dad or is this the vision? I guess he doesn't recognize his own son at the end? Nobody acknowledges their revenge plan will kill thousands of people much less how they feel about it. They don't even seem too excited about enacting it, just kinda tired and brooding. For once, the story event didn't make the banner characters more appealing except for maybe FV, but I was the least interested in him before so he had the most to gain. I hope the next veritas event is better. I imagine it will be since LV, WV, and VH are all more animated, interesting characters.

I do agree with your assessment that very little was added, like oh joy time to do the thing I guess... Overall though, I liked it, it was good seeing it go full circle but as the bad guys this time, and bringing Bonkeng's Dv made the ending to me a little funnier >.>; After fighting those Granshelt knights though, I understand why they killed them first ;P sheeeesh~
 
I've come around on Tidus completely. When he first released I was very underwhelmed. I was still all about the Orlandu divine Ruination life and nothing else mattered.

I couldn't chain two of Tidus' quick hits and he simply wasn't as powerful. Then the magnify touch controls on Android were discovered. This instantly made him 100% more viable because I could chain his best attack with ease.

Lately I feel like every new boss is either holy immune or resistant, which further cemented using Tidus over Orlandu. Water seems like a really great element to use in general, it's like the least used out of all of them. Yet there's even that powerful Viking Axe TM to add to the elemental damage and it seems the best finishers in the game can equip axes. Tidus 100% when maxed LB water imperil is also really freaking good. It may not be as simple to throw on like Divine Ruination but Tidus has such a good LB charge rate it doesn't matter.

Finally , looking into the future, Tidus has beastly enhancements. Some of the best I've ever seen. It's going to make sure he's awesome down the road and because of him I'm not as concerned with drawing other power house characters. Yes, I have two Tidus of my own, so I really lucked out here.

I don't even know what spurred this love letter to Tidus right now, but I'm just really glad he's part of my collection. I suppose I started to think about all this talk of chasing 5* units, and the 5* that's turning out to be the best unit I could hope for wasn't even one I was pulling for. Thanks Rikku. I owe it to ya for being on the same banner.

Yeah, Fire Veritas is specially dangerous with people that have Tidus. No need to rely on the stars aligning for him to do the maximum amount of damage. In the end, Fixed Dice should be superior but the amount of set up and luck involved makes it straight up not viable against bosses you can't really control.

For the new trial, can I just kill the high seraph after the summon and leave the demons for a few turn to fulfill the "clear in 11 turns or more" condition?

Yikes just wasted 90 energy cuz I thought the last story mission with rain and lasswell would be a joke. Brought in a bunch of TMR fodder with a few good units and got fucked for it.

Did you do 2 earlier Story Events?
Its been same trend starting first event. Last dungeon (maybe earlier) is no place for half powered team. Be safe and use your trial team.

Tip for the future. Story events aint coming easier for the last boss :p.

Ah, gotcha. I will be safe from now on.

I think I was able to kill one of the bosses in the last story event in only one turn with 2 DPS units because they were weak to light. This one I couldn't kill Lasswell in one turn with 2 DPS units so I died right after lol.

Just want to say WELCOME! The whole bit about not knowing what everyone is talking about? Yeah, that's normal and will wear off in a month or two.

Wow. Yesterday my luck was crap!

Today, in 4 pulls I got Orran and Victoria. Ive been needing a mage so bad.

Ive already max leveled and potted Vicky, off to rewatch Val's Orran video!

edit - After using mad Cactaurs and MAG pots today, my unit box is 240/300

Maybe for now, but I prefer HP personally. Crowe will be out at some point in the next few months and she has HP +30% SPR +30% which is probably the best TM for her.

That's disgusting for a 4* tm... jeeze >.>; i'll place an order for 12 >.>;

I'm up to the second to last stage I think (85 stam?) so far i've been doing fine getting carried by veritas friends but apparently that won't cut it for the last couple?

So gonna farm some TMs and break my laziness. Are 4 Ilias TMs BiS for Lunera?

Lunera is one the easiest units to gear, and doesn't require TMs to get her strong. I think she's one of the best 5* units that you can get if you're F2P or don't TM farm.

I've farmed 4 Illia's TM and Lunera gets to around 800 SPR with it, and heals around 100-130 MP per turn with her Elf Song depending on the max MP of the unit. I think its a waste of effort, and nobody uses anywhere near that much MP per turn. As a support, just put on a ton of HP on her, with the right gear you can get her to near 11k HP, and she'll be very tanky and still heal around 90-100 MP per turn.

For damage, with her bow, you can get her to over 900 MAG with Mag+30% or any other common TM.

But she is an absolute MVP in arena. She basically sparks chains randomly, and if you have two of her, its an easy 50-chain combo + tons of extra sparks. Better yet, put one of her with a little MP regen, and if you ever get AOE MP drained by Rem, you can sing your song for just 18MP to be up and running by the next turn.

My arena build is to have her get as much elemental resistance as possible, it goes well with 2 evade TTs, but generally just build her tanky for arena as her bow gives her more than enough MAG to reach arena damage cap. Its a very speedy team, no need to bother dual casting or anything, and you don't need to worry about 'no black magic' weeks.

The last two are 90 and 90, the first 90 revs up difficulty but could probably still be carried, the last one kicks it into maximum gear, you won't be carried through it. You'll need to have some umph for the last boss fight always~

I'm 100% committed to getting 10x 9S (for 10-man challenge) as stated as required in this thread.

Hope my (48) tickets and 10,000 lapis brings the goods!

I've been busy so I didn't get sucked into the hype. Was it Orlandu hysteria part 2, with the spanner in the works being that it was a double 5* banner?

Oh, and I'm still sitting on 216/55,000. I've interpreted "don't pull for 5*s if you're F2P" as "don't pull at all, ever".

This banner just scares me for the future where we see a lot of 2 5* banners. There seems to be way less people in the thread "oh look i used 5 tickets and got this" happening than usual for new banners. I personally dropped 30k lapis and only have 2 off banner 5* to show for it.

It was always nice in the past to be truly "done" with a banner if you managed to get lucky and get that rainbow. Now it's like "well there's still one to go" or "shit it's the wrong one."

I'm going to really have to watch my spending on double 5* banners in the future.

The hope would be to get the 5* rate up change before we get too many of those double 5* banners. Then on a double banner it'd be 0.5% for each 5*, same as it is on single 5* banners now. Plus you have the 2% chance for off-banner 5*.

[JP] What a great day in JP! Got Yon as daily, so he is now my lead instead of Gilbert. Means I know have a decent amount of bonus, even if I can't find anyone with bonus units. Seriously... wth? Does no one in JP do Mog King events? Or am I just still low enough newbies don't know what they're doing? Because finding very few on guest list that have bonus units. And those that find me send invites. I accept because holy shit yes, I need your Yon. (And while you invited me while I had Gilbert, now please enjoy my Yon.)

Props to my husband, because I had him pull for me and he got me the Yon. :3

I bought all 100 Cactaur. Used one to cap off Tidus. Used a bunch to cap off Onion Knight (which I must say becomes a badass at higher levels.. it's a struggle with him, but boy is it worth it!). Had leftover Cactaur. Bought 10 Fairies' Writ that I needed to get Agrias up to 6*. Got her to 6* then used rest of Cactaur on her. She is currently 97. Rocking 10 NRG Mog King now with my three badasses and two bonus units.

With the badass Rydia here though I do the 13 round. Dual Cast Thundaga, rinse, repeat each round FTW. Haha.

Feeling good. Have a bunch of currency still (close to 30k?), but saving it for now. Almost kind of thinking I should save what is left, since I've gotten what I can to boost folks at the moment, and see how much I have in end before divying it up. We'll see. But I'm enjoying the shit out of Tidus and OK being capped though.

Soon as I saw the blue crystal I figured it was Timothy. You can only get on banner units if they're blue and kinda meh. Though, his hat is a nice addition to TMs to collect.
 
So is Lorraine going to be obtained another way, or in addition to? Any info other than an update page?

I'm assuming they won't reward people who have spent the required amount via EX system already? They should have had this figured out from the start.

Edit: Actually nevermind, this appears to be for JP only so far.

Can we discuss Flame Veritas btw? I didn't realize how strong he actually is. Everyone was going crazy for Dark Veritas on this banner but watching videos and reading about them, Flame seems like he's way better. On the Japan side of things I see Flame used as a finisher but never see Dark anywhere. Did these characters get enhancements yet over there?

DV and FV haven't gotten their enhancements yet.

What you see on videos with FV dealing a ton of damage is reliant on Setzer's TM Fixed Die. It's luck based because Fixed Die deals anywhere from 120%-650% damage. The more atk you have, the higher the damage.

FV is perfect for it because he can equip throw weapon. Combined with True Doublehand TM's like Cloud and Elfried's, he can get a a very high attack. And JP can stack duplicate materias too.

FV can still use the same set up in GL, but don't expect to gey JP numbers of damage.

Regarding FV vs DV, there's no debate as to who's better. DV is leagues better than FV. But that doesn't mean FV is not good, just means DV is god tier along with Fryevia and Orlandu.

There are two True Doublehand components:

Cloud's TM, which is an ability that gives you +100% ATK from equipment
Elfreeda's TM, which is an accessory that gives you 40 flat ATK, two LB crystals per turn, and +50% ATK from equipment.

Cloud's TM won't stack. Elfreeda's might if we view it in light of something like, say, Champion Belt. Regardless, if we get the banner the same way JP got it, with both of these units on the same one, we're in True Whale territory. Worrying about TDH builds if you're anywhere from F2P to Roided Dolphin is maybe not a wise choice.

Pretty much what across said.

Regarding FV and DV, they are one of the best, if not the best, on theit respective role.

But remember, 99% of the time you'll need a chainer in your team. Finisher's are just there if you have 1 spot open. Chainers deal a ton of damage by themselves. Finisher needs chainers in order to maximize their damage.

That's how DV separates himself from FV in usefulness.

When it comes to FV - I pulled one on the way to getting DV - I'm looking at him as the following:

1) Cheap (relatively) to equip. He doesn't consume Blade Mastery, Large Sword Mastery, Dark Knight's Soul, Genji Glove, Genji Blade, Deathbringer, etc.. He's fine with ATK+30% (or EV's TM, Wisdom, etc.), Bracers, and Fixed Dice. Bam, sorted. If you have silly amounts of duplicate TMs then this might be less valuable, but if not, this is really useful. Being able to get a unit within spitting distance of their optimal attack without tying up high value TMs increases the damage of your team as a whole.

2) Gives me access to 50% imperils for elements I previously didn't have access to - Fire, Wind, Earth. I can't really take advantage of the third and I can only somewhat with the second, but I could make use of the first in the right situation. So: conditional, but an option.

3) Does pretty good damage with minimal support or setup. You pop his imbue+imperil once every 5 turns and spend the rest of your time dropping 500%-1000% hits. Don't forget if his HP drops below 30% he gets 150% ATK for the rest of the fight until he dies or it gets dispelled.
I remember reading (here? from Visceir?) that some JP players did Aigaion with just FV as their sole source of damage. I feel like it would take thirty years but I can see how it would work, as well.

4) His TM is just ATK+30% because no one, not even him, uses axes and heavy armor (exception: he is capping Tidus chains), so it saves you time in the Earth Shrine because you don't really need to grind it up. Thanks Gumi.

5) Looks pretty sick.

6) Only member of the Veritas who has any measure of chill whatsoever; ironic given his element of choice.

7) When he's in position #2 in your party, his axe will cover 30%-90% of the unit in position #1. Useful for sneak attacks.

Not super exciting right now, but she's nice to have for the future, since I don't have Ramza.
