I haven't done much end game yet, but in the 40=50 dungeons, they are pretty good. My only complaint with most Warriors I have came across in the Duty Finder is... they refuse to stop AOEing when we call for Sleepga on harder pulls. D: Oh and Warriors take a lot more damage than Paladins, and as a healer, this is kind of annoying. Healing a Paladin is much more relaxed to me. Or I just have been partying with bad Warriors which is certainly possible. xD
 
What is this? WoW had what? WoW servers were designed to be able to handle 20k at a time. And we are taking that was in 2004.

5k per server in 2013 for an MMO is a god damn joke. No AFK system and no queue system. It's an MMO and they don't include basic stuff that every online game has had for years.

This launch is a mess. Awful as shit, and comparing it to WoW is just trying to add sparkles to the pile of shit this situation is.

For all the stuff about virtual severs and load balancing, they really messed up making server software for 2002.

Shit, they should just host the goddamn thing on AWS.

It's a fun game, but S-E can't operate it. After the early access period, its ludicrous to think tomorrow's minor patch will fix everything. If anything, they will just change/rename the errors.

I like the zone but theres too many farming FATES, before that area mass fates can be a tad tedious in Coerthas they are actively unfun (but still ridiculously efficient so the temptation is there)

I really hate this, but I learned to let it go as long as the other 3 party members are safe. If the dumbass wants to make his job harder, his loss.

I loved it until I spent three days in it on the FATE train, but it probably has the best atmosphere in the game and the story's pretty great there.

I had to mute the music after standing around waiting for FATEs all the time, was impressed at first though with how drastic the change was. Also how other music changes so slightly was great too.

I'm playing both Warrior and Paladin, and here's my take on Warrior:

  • Warrior has better area effect damage and tanking
  • can build up a large amount of single target DMG
  • self-heals rather well but takes some time with Defiance

  • Warrior stun blows, cooldown is significantly long
  • No shield
  • No awesome Paladin damage mitigation skills

Tommorow is "the fix." It'll last the whole day but with any luck you'll be playing afterward. Give it til friday or so, after you've got some playtime in. You're being compensated for the time you couldn't play.
 
Damn, I'm level 48, just let me log in and finish my story and hit 50, for the love of all that is Holy. By the way, the Holy spell is the best thing that ever happened for a WHM in terms of fate farming.
 
I made a character last night played through the tutorial and logged off. I tried logging in today and my character is missing. Is this normal?

Well that kind of sucks. I understand the jobs should be different but I don't want to play one that can't get group invites because I'm not a Paladin tank :/

Oh well I'll stick with it. Not going to give up.
 
If I take my ps3 copy back to tesco and simply say it won't work, it will be taken. Its a retail store that sells everything there is no understanding of online game or pack in codes.

I bought a product and it doesn't work as intended. Why am I at fault?

You may need to explain things well but I'm sure you would get refunded, you're probably not the first to do so

Say that the game was falsely advertised. It was advertised as an MMO with an open world to adventure in with many other players, but instead the extent of the game is pressing the START button and receiving the message, "Unable to update server list for NA/EU worlds".

I know it's irritating but this is the launch of an MMO.

Give it a few days and see if the server maintenance fixes anything.

I don't really think you'll have an issue. Tanks are in very high demand in this game, no matter what class. lol

Just out of curiousity, are you guys who are trying to return the game going to eventually buy it again? After the server log in issues are fixed and so on?

Originally wanted exclusively drg but now I actually pathed my character pretty good. I am 9 lvls away on lnc for drg req and have gld at 8 cnj at 8 and mrd at 16 so I can go through to drg/pld/war pretty quickly.

Usually with stuff like this, for every day that you can't log in properly, they'll add another day onto the free trial. The only worrying thing is that so far they've only mentioned an extra 7 days, but haven't confirmed it.
 
My number one complaint now is when the NA/EU server goes "offline" and cant pull up the list, despite the servers still being up and functional.

It's probably better to wait until they scrap the servers they have now. I would expect them to shutdown the whole operation for a while and maybe relaunch as a 2.0 to fix all the problems

It's a multiple step login system. After logging into the authentication server, you're directed to the lobby server. If the lobby server is down or not responding you get the grayed out start button. If you do get a response from it, you're allowed to move onto character selection whereby it pings every server to determine if you have characters on them and load their appearance data. You don't actually communicate with any of the game servers until you try and log in. If one of those steps fail, the whole thing falls apart.
