The point is that the players have constructed a catch 22 situation.

Groups shouting for people to have experience... and Duty finder people expecting people to be experienced.

At what point does a new player get to actually learn the fight?

Nonetheless, I do actually know the fight well, and am geared, and at least had enough patience to try a few premades and dozens of DF groups.

But as a tank, the fight only needs one, and it's not really down to me if the people are able to dodge shit or not.

So maybe, you just need to get a clue and understand how this is frustrating to others?
I should have left up my old post.I have never quit a titan group, even after wiping for hours with pugs.

I actually agree with you guys that people need patience to let others learn the fight. I also agree that the community is terrible, and is getting worse.

Doesn't make me any less disheartened when a DPS dies to wotl after 20 wipes before heart.

Same way they jump with the other heavy armor they have. I just want more concealing armor for Dragoon.

haha

DRG darklight looks great, and is completely concealing.

Yep

20 tries is too many.

But 1 try is too few. Can't we have a reasonable compromise? 5 tries per DF group? C'mon FF14 community!

You forgot to account for the lag which makes it impossible for many players to progress no matter how well they know the fight and how good they are.

Actually, if you know what's coming (because you've memorized rotation, or have a chart up), and you preempt the AOE by moving, then... you can still beat Titan.

But it's a pretty massive change in difficulty from the FF14 up until that point.

Damn first run in AK went smooth as hell and I came out with two upgrades on my AF gear. Pretty easy bosses, but I think my groupmates were just a bit more experienced than the usual pugs, because we blew through the demon wall like it was paper.

Nail, meet Hammer.

Is there a reason to stay as an Arcansit to lvl 50 instead of say being a smn? I mean if you become smn you get extra moves, more dps, and stats right?

I never understood this thing of telling people they are "burning bridges" when someone points out something skep as if that's supposed to mean something. I don't really see what is making him not a good guy in that post either.

Burning bridges means that rather than parting amicably, you rather choose to let your feelings being said and more often than not in a hostile manner. I am against these most of the time because in my experience, most of the negative feelings I have to a group are rather due to assumptions in my head.

It's like thinking everyone is against you when in reality they just don't know you that well. It happens. I've always kept it as a rule to try and leave anything, be it MMO guilds, or places as employment, as amicably as I could. Who knows, someone you might have a beef now can turn out to be another one of your colleague in the future.

I didn't see anything really negative in his post, sounded more frustrated than anything. That aside, there are cliques in GAF, as should be expected, we're a huge guild, so people will tend to gravitate to others of like mind.

For the most part I have seen people go out of there way to help others. I've had two. GAF groups where someone said to pass on certain loot so that someone else could get, once in brayflox...I guess some dragon wages Infantry, and in Titan HM where we were told to pass if a bow dropped. Luckily for those involved, I wanted/needed anything. Otherwise, there would have been a problem.

My time in the FC has been great, and I expect it to continue, far to many nice people around for there to be a reason to bail. /cheer GAF

It's usually join in progress for a reason lol.
Hah, yeah, but I usually luck out. It's not always a bad group, just an elitist tank ditching a group after a wipe or messup (like cannons).

On AK it's usually Demon Wall I get pops for, and the group usually beats it on the first try after I join.

Oh, I know what burning bridges is but now I see where you are coming from in relation to that post. I still think that having everything out in the open is better than letting things slide just because things could change in the future. Although, there wasn't much negative about his post though but I do sense the frustration he had at whatever he was dealt with.

Is the Gaf guild mainly for hardcore players, casual or a little of each?

Both. There are people already very very deep into the endgame, doing Binding Coil of Bahumut I believe and there are people like me who are still level 39 on their first class, playing since launch, distracted by GTA V.

Well he basically blamed his bad experience on the entire 512 person FC so....

Eh, it's a casual FC. I'm just chillin' in it and ask for help whenever I need it for dungeons and such. There's always someone willing to help, even if they've got multiple level 50 classes already.

Same experience for me, most people are doing AK/CM runs now it seems like but I've always been able to get a party from the FC, never had to go to the Duty Finder in this game so far (up to Garuda) except needing the odd healer here and there.

Hmmm... so I got all the DL accesories (DRG).

Dunno now what piece of DL to get... I still have AF body and head (rest is AK gear) so I was thinking on getting DL body and AF2 head.
I wanted to save the tomes for the Relic but I dont think I could get past Titan anyways without some DL armor. Any recomendations? >_<

How should Perfect Balance be used? I imagine in AoE scenarios it's just that and Rockbreaker. With single target is it just that and Snap Punch?

I love good groups. Cape Westerwind is piss easy. One tank was camping at the gate for the adds picked them up marked one so I can sleep the other, The main tank kept on the main boss and the melee dps knew when it said readying magitek missle to stay the fuck away from him. Too easy lmfao

Pug groups in late levels.......

I thought you guys were exaggerating. As soon as you get into actual challenging battles things just fall apart. Pug quality is embarrassingly bad starting with aurum vale and cape westwind. People can't even tell why we are wiping in the first place. I sleep the adds in westwind and the tank opens up with an aoe attack and dies before I can get another sleep off then cries dps needs to only attack one target -_- the healing is also wtfbbq bad. If a dps and tank are dying let the dps die ffs especially in a group of 8.

Server transfers can't come soon enough. Can't wait to play with you gaf peeps.

No real reason to stay ACN. ACN gets more cross-class skill options, but that is outweighed by SMN stats and job specific abilities.

Same with any class/job really.

Ha ha so it was a Reddit mod on /r/ffxiv and his guild purposefully ruining Titan Pugs on Ultros.

I hope that type of thing is bannable.

I struggled with Aurum Vale but I know it's an easy dungeon but you need a good group to make it an easy dungeon. As for Westwind just look at the post above yours I made. If those things happen then the fight will be easy as shit.

THis game really REALLY needs a kick 'afk party member trying to troll you' button. GOD thats made me angry.

Yea, there are a lot of really basic functions that should be in that are not, which is weird since some things I don't normally see are implemented or coming soon.

Where is my vote-to-kick, rightclick>blacklist, spam filters ect. There are so many little things making the game a chore to play sometimes, when the actual game can be so fun.

But gilseller spamming ruins my ability to shout for my 50 craft services. Too many people are abusing cutscene invulnerability to stay afk all run in 8 mans. Stuff like that. It needs to be fixed before the reputation really starts to precede itself.

So was farming fates in Coerthas yesterday to get from 37 to 38 and I feel like it was kind of a hassle. Especially when compared to Costa del Sol. The fates spawn very far away so I miss out when things get crowded, and I feel like my contributions are worthless sometimes. I was there for the entirety of the fate with the big dragon, and I only got 900 xp one time and 1,200 xp another. It took me several hours to gain enough xp for one level. Do you guys think moving back to Costa del Sol would be better?

This is why you party up with 7 others.

They kinda "nerfed" Coerthas but it's still good. However, it seems like if there are tons of people on during prime time you have to be on the ball and there immediately to get full exp.

Costa has less there i guess? Really, just do what you find best, there's no absolute path regarding fates.

Edit: yea also being in a party matters. Tele around easier and hit cap easier.

Are you farming for a second job? If it's for your first I would focus on quests, dungeons and your hunting log honestly. Coerthas is such a pain. Once you start getting into the 40's, North Thanalan is much, much better for fate farming.

Guys, I'm currenty at lvl 35 as a Monk but only 15 as a Lancer.

Is it worth to continue to level Lancer? Are there any cool abilities to complement Monk?

Get in a party. Whenever you run back to the aetheryte place, stand near northeast exit, because that's where the NPC to start Svara spawns. He comes hourly, and the Svara FATE chain showers you with exp if you attract enough enmity each round. The other one to notice is Roc of Ages (I think?) that spawns west of Dragonhead.

What class are you? If you're a caster, you should be just tagging every single mob you can with instant-cast spell (anything with cast time is not feasible in fate grinding).

One of the recommended things to do is set Dragonhead as your return point so you can use it when you need to get from one end of the map to another, but if you don't want to set it as home point, get a party and hopefully they'll use this tactic, thus giving you free rides.
