You said you would help me :(

And if you asked me, I would have. I can't sit on the game all day though, especially not while there are Kiseki games to be played. I'm still reading this thread though. And if I see someone needing my help, I'll go on.

Did you win?

Doing it now, we're actually getting past heart so its promising to say the least

Just ran AK for the first time. Dungeon is WAY more intimidating through word of mouth than it is in practice.

Gotta say though, the second and third boss really got my adrenaline pumping. Only other game to ever do that to me was Gears of War. It's a pretty crazy feeling to have your adrenaline going while just sitting still. A bit addictive too lol.

Wall boss is my favorite boss, as a WHM. Just dance around and roll AoE...wheeeee!

Oh, baby. The forest environments in this game are just so gorgeous. Got about a good hour of playing in tonight, got a break from GTA V. Hit Level 20 and finished a Duty. Love the game.

For those having trouble farming diremite webs, I found this comment at xivdb in the entry for the item:

Since the banemites are getting crowded. There's a quest in South Shroud called An Apple a Day that spawns mitelings...

To expand:

You receive this quest from an NPC named Deidra in Quarry Mill. The player picks six apple trees. Three of these trees always spawn mitelings that have the same loot table as the banemites that people typically farm in North Shroud. Once you figure out what trees spawn the mitelings, you can pick the apples from those trees, kill the mites, abandon the quest, and get it again from Deidra to repeat the process.

It's not as fast as farming the banemites, but it makes a good backup for when the area gets crowded.

For once, it feels good not to be a completionist.

Well, if enough people start doing that, the price is bound to go down. So sounds good to me.

I tried playing Final Fantasy XIV in 1.0 twice, played the 2.0 beta on PS3, and finally, played this version...first time I've gotten to visit the other cities outside Ul'dah so...Hooray for me!

Quick question, I know i'm gonna be leveling up a lancer, cause I want to be a monk (currently a pug), but I also want to mess around and level up as an archer, just because it's something new. However...if I go around and do all the quests I find as a Lancer in Gridania, how difficult will it be for me to level up as an archer later?

I was kicking myself once I found out about that, really would have helped me right now since I'm in the 26 weaver zone. Between diremite and fleece, its looking like a pain in the ass to max out weaver.

you get 50% bonus exp on the lower leveled class, and you can just run around and do Fates instead of quest. Which is probably faster than questing anyways, although personally I try to do both at once.

I avoided farming diremites for their webs by taking advantage of the triple turn-in level 20 leve at Quarrymill that would reward 10x3 webs per leve usage. I believe the leve required 9 cotton coifs of gathering. I got a few stacks of webs through this leve. The reward alternates between shards and webs. If the reward wasn't webs, I'd go pick another craft leve from Quarrymill, since he also gives bomb ash, silver ores, yew logs as rewards. Eventually, the reward would go back to webs.

on that subject is there a list of these repeatable crafting leves anywhere? Ever since I found out about crafting leves I've been saving my allowances, and I tried out one of the repeatables (ironclad bronze buckler I think) earlier today. But if they're town-specific and have certain desirable rewards then I guess I need to decide on which ones to go after.\

edit: found a couple links, but one was dead...this one seems to have the information I was looking for

Eh, it's a casual FC. I'm just chillin' in it and ask for help whenever I need it for dungeons and such. There's always someone willing to help, even if they've got multiple level 50 classes already.

You got to add me dood. I'm always up for dungeons. Lynx O' the name. I tried to get into GAF FC, but no luck yet.

For some reason I was afraid/indimated to make the transition from Coerthas to Mor Dhona for Fate parties because I thought that's where Dark Devices and the like took place and I wouldn't know how to do them well. Ended up going to N. Thanalan instead, and the first one that pops up there is DD, with Gorgimera right after. >_>

Ended up actually going to Mor Dhona hours later to finish up my Hunting Log, and I like this place better despite it being 3x as big. There's still plenty of people, but not so much where I normal Fate mobs show up already claimed or dead (which is an issue when doing DD).

I finally unlocked Castrum Meridianum, which supposedly is followed by Praetorium, which are story-heavy dungeons [and thus, lots of cut-scenes]. I think I'll try to find a GAF FC group for these two later today [since it's now past midnight where I am].

I really don't want to PUG it considering many will likely get upset over myself watching the cut-scenes [yes, the story IS important to me!].

so im a lvl 43 dragoon now, gonna need to lvl till 46 before ill even try Garuda.

My question is, how do you get lvl 3 limit breaks? ive never ever seen one, do you need a lvl 50 full party or something?

Should I get into crafting?

I'm a 39 bard and I'm always curious about DoH/crafting.

Is it worth while? Recommendations for BRD?

The ones that bard can directly use are carpentry (bows, spears, tools and occasional armor), leatherworker (leather), and weaver (cloth). I started levelling up carpentry but found I preferred gathering more than crafting because it allows me to turn off my brain more. The gathering profession that goes well with carpentry is botany.

You don't have to level up any disciple of the hand/land professions, but it's a rather large chunk of the game that you'll have never experienced if you skip it completely. One of the benefits of saving your involvement until later levels is that you'll have lots of leve allowances amassed that you can use to power through the levels.

The best part of botany is that you can get some item ingredients that other people find useful for their repeatable leves or important crafting recipes, and just hoard those items for 2-3 levels and sell them in huge batches. There's typically one ingredient or sometimes two per 5 levels that sells for a minimum of 75 gil. I don't know how hard it is to come by grade 4 carbonized matter, but it sells for about 400 gil each, so I plan on farming that as much as possible when I hit 50.

According to this:
http://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Limit_Break

There are 3 levels of limit breaks, the 1st level can be used in a party with 4 or more members, the 2nd level needs a full party of 8 members, the 3rd level requires a full raid of 24 players, with the exception of dungeons and instanced Primals: an additional bar is added at the start of the boss fight.

You can do whatever you want tbh. In the end you will need to level at least half of them for cross class skills to reliably HQ items.

I have Weaver, Goldsmith, Alchemy and Carpenter at 50 which allow me to HQ anything I want thanks to the cross class skills.

I think one of the Quarrymill leves also givens Diremite webs as a fairly common reward. I can't remember which one though.

Omnilex is rather plain as well, it looks like a day planner.

None of the books look particularly impressive to me when idle. That's kinda why I'm hoping they add ACN/SMN/SCH pets to victory cutscenes to offset this. Even the PUP automatons in FF11 had tons of poses, and that was on the PS2.

Hi, im currently playing in ragnarok, im looking for a LS to do coil of bahamut i have a BLM, but I can no longer play alone to keep going.

So I wanted to play an MMO and got this because I had credit on Green Man Gaming. I have no idea what I'm doing though. I've just been questing and am currently level 16. I just heard about getting a second class and all this stuff ... Kinda confused.

Is there any YouTube video that explains all the mechanics in the game?

This is my first MMORPG ever and I was lost at first, but eventually picked up on things. I never used any sort of YouTube guides for the game as well - things just clicked with me. Though if you want some resources and basic rundown of things, check this site out:
