Final Uncharted 4 Trailer

There's really no need to do any e-peen stretching here... back to the game hopefully
There's plenty to talk about of Uncharted 4's trailer, surely?

I like Nate's butt, looks even better in PS4.

It was definitely a trailer. Stuff happened. I guess these kinda cinematic trailers just don't do anything for me anymore.

But I guess it doesn't really matter, since I'm still planning on getting the game day one. Just gotta finish Uncharted 3 first.

Gameplay my ass. Those were mostly cutscenes.

Gameplay implies control.

It's in-engine, so gameplay doesn't look far off the cutscenes. The only difference is the shaders are downgraded; you can't see quite as much detail.

More bits of the trailer than you expect are probably actual gameplay, being played by someone.

Edit: I see what you mean, though. "Gameplay" trailer doesn't really do it right.

Do you also think that the facial animations in this pales to Quantum Break or something?

I sees it.

Now she is total badass. She can dominate me any time. That trailer was amazing. Love all the gifs.

Hilarious reading this seeing the name and avatar.

I still want to see his chesticles. There better be a torn shirt with that chest hair flowing, or ima rage (not really). You cannot tease us with the chest hair tech, and not show us his goods in the finale.

So excited for this, I am playing through the Collection right now and am just starting U2.

I'm about 1/3 of the way through Uncharted 3, and it's really a lot better than I remembered. Probably the only downside to it at the moment is that it's very similar to Uncharted 2, but by its own merits it's a really excellent game.

On topic, I'm not watching this as I want to go into the game completely unspoiled. I've seen a couple of the earlier trailers, but have more or less been on media blackout for the last few months.

Still prefer the fan made trailer Neil Druckmann liked

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtnMCIzVWN4

Too many cuts for my taste.

Cuts that fast work in the 30 second kind of trailers with tons of action, but not between like very slow-paced scenes and for 2 minutes long..... too... many... cuts. Too much for me. Maybe I'm too old.

But obviously he can't direct the whole trailer and cut scenes, still a pretty good trailer :)

The animation and textures looks very good but the rest is much less impressive then the reveal which is a shame but was expected because the reveal looked incredible.
Also the lighting engine looks dull compared to quantum break, I haven't followed what technique they use but it looks less advanced then qb. But I bet it will be a very fun game with lots of setpieces. And that's what counts.

It's on par imo besides the 60fps

Some of the best parts of the Uncharted series are when Drake is alone, adding co-op to the campaign just isn't something I want to see.
i'm not saying kill the solo sections just to shoehorn coop, I talked about it in another thread how for those sections we coulda just had twin drakes and then once drake joins up with the other character the second player would revert back to him.

just wishful thinking though i know it's not the reality.

Arrrghh! It's so close! I will have to play it during a free weekend so I have time to finish it in two or three sittings, like I did with TLoU. I wonder how long my first playthrough will take, I remember spending 21 hours to beat TLoU for the first time, though Uncharted games are usually a bit shorter. 15-17 hours maybe due to my playstyle?

[E3 2015 Uncharted 4 chase demo]
Maybe I just don't understand it enough. But wasn't this driving all linear?
It looked like it was totally scripted and you had to eventually choose those roads, maybe even immediately.
I don't think you could stealth drive to the destination. But everyone is coming to the conclusion you can drive anywhere. Is the game at the showfloor to play?
So someone could take a different road?
Graphics wise it looked like it is dialled back more especially since the reveal which of course looked incredible. It more and more looks like the graphics are more in line with all the other games (which was expected).
Linear (branching) action sequence. Totally scripted!

Neil Druckmann spoke of other, more open driving sections in the game which at that point hadn't been shown yet.

Thanks for the answer.
Oh and I didn't mean open world like say far cry.
I just got the feeling this is much linear then everyone is expecting (by looking at the reactions).
It felt pretty similar to the presentation of tomb raider. Both have beautiful graphics but they can afford those graphics because everything they do is push you down a narrow path (not that that is by definition bad if the path is fun and doesn't feel to constricted).
Tomb Raider's action sequences are 'pretty similar' in scope and detail to Uncharted 4's E3 demo!

This is confusing for me. I never played Uncharted but to me it seems like you have so little control or else this is really next gen stuff.
To me it feels like some sort of on rail shooter (like time crisis, etc) but with a little bit of extra control.
Like you suddenly see a reticle to shoot then it goes back to the action then you get the control back for a few seconds and so the whole time through along with some qte and that's it. Are the previous Uncharted balanced games?
Or does it feel like you move from one setpiece till the next with a few sections where you run a little?
If it is a realtime (I mean where you have the control most of the time) then this is going to be a impressive game if not it loses a lot of its appeal to me.
Now we bringin' in the big (light) guns! It's like Time Crisis with a little bit of extra control.

[Tomb Raider]
What a beautiful game.
The difference in graphics in consoles seems closer then their specs suggest.
After a while you start to see the trend what developers use to wow the public. This time it is water and especially rain and mud (tomb raider , MGS , Uncharted,...).
Now for all those that are saying that it isn't tomb raider anymore, I think it stems from the extra power they now have.
In the time of the Playstation the restriction of the console meant that everything was more set in stone( :) ) and it made all areas more like tombs. Now they can open it much more.
Also the statements of dumbness of the enemies I don't understand. Isn't this game a bit like Uncharted a over the top Adventure Game. It's a bit like in movies where they shoot with a arsenal of weapons against the hero and they all miss off course.
At times it looks wonderful and I am looking forward to it.
Shitty AI? Uncharted too!

[Tomb Raider again]
I don't know what is happening in this thread , but so many are getting serious salty.
Now about the Syria demo.
The beginning was pretty bad with some bad animation and was overall not so impressive (the scene with the car). The hair looks sometimes off but is also one of the hardest things to get right in computer graphics.
But then everything started to get a lot better.
Ok the gameplay doesn't look like it is going to set the world on fire, but that is about to be expected (Uncharted doesn't look any better in that department) in this genre.
There were parts where the atmosphere feels just like Indiana Jones and these games have a lot riding on atmosphere and pace so that's very nice to see.
Then the graphics.
The beginning wasn't really good but as it went on there were parts where it looks better then Uncharted , and that was surprising.
The lighting engine and some of the shaders also look excellent (they can Certainly rival Uncharted in this department).
So everything is looking good , I just hope they keep the interface and help in the gameplay (hope I can switch off those hints) as uncluttered as possible to keep the atmosphere as high as possible, this can also help in the adventure part.
Manuel
Tomb Raider gameplay not going to set the world on fire but it's ok, Uncharted totally looks just as ordinary.

Tomb Raider's lighting and (texture) shaders look excellent and certainly rival Uncharted!

The animation and textures looks very good but the rest is much less impressive then the reveal which is a shame but was expected because the reveal looked incredible.

I see I am in the minority here. That's no problem I only go by what I see. It's funny because the problem I am having is that everything looks pretty flat. It looks like qb uses some form of global illumination like a faster and rougher arnold renderer. I also must say that things can change when you play the game first hand. Which is the case with qb for me.
I just looked at the the reveal of uncharted again and it looks much intenser color wise and more subtle in the animation (like there is simulation of fat under the skin). But no problem if you all attack me for being honest. I hope to play the uncharted series soon. It looks like everybody's is hyped so that's positive.

Looks good but it said "Gameplay Trailer" but it's pretty much full of cut-scenes... lol

Already pre-ordered it so day one for me.

I've spent more than enough years on IGN to know a shit posting concern trolling drive-by post when I see one. Shin-Ra's just reinforced that. They always follow the same BS principle with blatant bias trying to be covered up with "but...but I own both consoles" or something to that effect. I'm just happy it rarely happens on GAF, and when it does, 9 times out of 10 it's a junior saying it.

Fantastic little teaser. I was hoping it would be short and not reveal too much, so that's good.

Also, *bow to Shin-Ra* lol well done!

Lol

Funnily enough, I might end up agreeing with him on the lighting, though. QB has fucking amazing lighting. We'll see when the game comes out.
Funnily enough it's also much more linear, and we can't have that.

(And blurry, smeary with shimmery bounced light)

But the lighting in QB only felt atmospheric because there was usually fog all over the show or some sort of haze.

Edit: Forgot to say it's a trick used to give scenes more "Volume". While I agree it looks fucking fantastic when your playing through, I feel Uncharted's lighting has a more natural feel to it.

I'm still deciding wether to get it on day one. I rarely get non-JRPG at D1 but with TLOU I decided to buy it like 5 days before release and I didn't regret it.
