Fire Emblem 3DS bundle hitting NA

Man, I've been waiting for one of these bundles for any game I like on the XL. I've never bought a fancy bundled system but I want one.

I would buy this if Nintendo would sort out their online / eShop setup. I already have an XL. The XL is my preferred 3DS and would be even with this. But I would buy it if I knew I could download and play games I already purchased on the eShop. You could do this with the PSP / Vita within reason (I think you were limited to 3 systems).

Bundle officially confirmed through Twitter.

We have an awesome #FireEmblem Awakening Nintendo #3DS hardware bundle coming to US/CAN. More info. to come.

I'm tempted to buy this, but I have a strong feeling that Nintendo will unveil the 3DS refresh that looks more like its XL big brother by E3, and I'd be kicking myself.

Ever since this news has spread to all reaches of internet sites, all I see is people upset that it's not an XL; dat consumer expectation.
I guess I'm just a fanboy for wanting to purchase this.

i just want a non crappy looking 3DS XL before i upgrade. so disappointed.

Why are people hating on this when it's just a normal 3DS? Looks sexy as hell, I might finally get a 3DS now.

Laser etched decal thingy doesn't make a horribly designed handheld look any better. I have no words with which to describe how ugly the bottom half of the original 3DS looks, which also happens to be the part not shown in the picture on the box.

Now the XL, that thing looks sexy as hell.

Game comes pre installed? I wonder what size SD card the 3DS would come with, I imagine the 2gb that comes with the standard 3DS wouldn't go very far.

Also, I'd totally prefer a boxed copy but that's just me and my last decade ideals.

It can go reasonably long if you're not getting retail games (well, at least I can put a good number of digital games on), and it's fairly cheap and simple to switch to 32 GB or higher anyway so it's better than Vita here (include NOTHING, charge $100 MSRP for 32 GB).

Scratch that, I want on a physical cart so I can use either this 3DS or the 3DS XL. As is feels like I either have to stick with this on 3DS (if not transition everything from 3DS XL and downgrade) or buy a separate cart for cross use. Wouldn't be an issue if this were like the PSP with system authorization, but unfortunately Nintendo isn't the most forward thinking with online.

Really nice looking, but also wish it were an XL as I already have my sexy black 3ds. Been interested in these games for years and played parts of several other games in the series but never actually finished any (or got very far for that matter). Extremely addicting but also stressful as hell (I sucked). How well was this one received/ how does it compare to older games? If I am buying this game I feel like I may go all out and just grab the bundle instead.

Kinda random but just saw this awesome Fire Emblem tribute art on twitter, by Kinu Nishimura

That's from the official 20th anniversary encyclopedia. It's got a lot of other nice illustrations by other artists. I'd love to own it myself, personally.

There's no real reason to get a normal 3DS unless you're a super completist. Especially with a visually appealing game like this the larger screen is essential and just the right size.

maaaan
i know it's been said, but if this was an XL, pre-installed game wouldn't stop me at all

now watch us get the AC bundle and that one's cute but i don't need it in my life like i would this one

My interest level dropped significantly to the pre installed game.
This is a good SKU for the first time 3DS buyer jumping in with fire emblem, but I was really hoping for the box and cartridge packed in.

Collectors should buy one and leave it unopened. This will fetch a high price one day.

Honestly, after seeing NoA bring this of all bundles over, I'm expecting the Animal Crossing bundle to come over as well. Maybe even a late release of the NSMB2 XL bundle. I also sorely hope they are wise enough to put out a Pokemon X and Y bundle when that comes out.

Bundle mania!

My issue with collecting is that I never want to open any of my sealed games that become rare to play them, but I also never want to sell them either.

Anyway, I think I'm just going to pass up an xl this year and just get this. God knows if the series is ever going to get this treatment again.

Not going to lie, but while I do really like Nishimura's art (I think the art for Code of Princess and the Zero Escape series looks fantastic), Est's DLC artwork was one of my least favorites of the bunch.

I don't see why Nintendo is hesitant to bring over bundles in the first place. If anything it encourages double dippers and increases awareness for new game releases.

Probably hard to convince retailers it's worth the trouble, especially with how spread out the US is versus Japan or Europe. I figure in theory if a bundle isn't being picked up at some place in Japan someone who REALLY wants it can travel around awhile and eventually find it, but in America that could be a lot more taxing, especially if you're out in a rural place. I imagine the coastal areas have a similar enough density though.

Would love to have this just for the box. But I already have an original 3DS and it's even a blue one. Would have seriously considered to buy this if it was an XL, too bad. Maybe for the next Fire Emblem game (or release one with DQ7).

3DS Bundles kind of suck for Collectors, because the games are always pre-installed and thus you still need to buy the retail copy.

It's douple dipping alright. But atleast they are then able to keep the retail game sealed by playing the digital version.

It's probably more annoying for people who want to juggle 3DS and 3DS XL, but the bigger problem is Nintendo being backwards on online stuff anyway, otherwise it'd be less of a nuisance or even a complete non-issue.

I am dangerously close to buying this for collection purposes. I don't do that for very many things these days, but Fire Emblem'd be one of them. It's actually better that the game is pre-installed in my case so I'm not tempted to open it. I'd probably be getting the physical copy for the (probably terrible) art book anyway.

Wasn't really a fan of the DS XL (I know, the horror.) so I wasn't really looking to get a 3DS XL. Told myself last year when I saw the Japanese bundle that if it was brought stateside it would be mine.

It had better be $169.99 since NoA is being cheap and not including the physical card like in the Japanese bundle. Still, can't wait and will be dropping a pre-order soon as the stores are announced and they start accepting.

I just noticed that the Japanese 3DS Bundle also included a ¥1000 eshop card as well =O

I'm not in the wrong to think Nintendo of America would not included a $10 eshop card, am I?
