No Xenoblade, no Fire Emblem, no Zelda

Ritsumei2020

Who did they think I was shilling for?
I guess I will have to wait a few years until the games that I really want comes out on NSW2.

Mario Kart etc. is ok but not really what I am after.

It may take until 2030 to get a new Zelda, that would be a bummer.

What? You think Nintendo and its partners don't go through the same long ass development cycles as everyone else?

Tears of the Kingdom came out two years ago, were you expecting a new flagship game in the franchise that fast?
I'm happy to get 60fps totk that uses my save file.

I would've been blown away if there was a Zelda 64 remake on the horizon.

They haven't even unveiled their full first party lineup for this year yet. Their latest dated game is in July.

Not that I expect any of the games you listed this year, but the long-rumored Fire Emblem remake and Monolith's new game (probably a new IP rather than Xenoblade) could easily drop next year, since both have apparently been in development for quite a while.

Some game announcements are being held back for the Treehouse and future events. Also, Nintendo sits on finished games until they need them, so the next Monolith Soft game could be damn near done by now, but Big N is holding it back.

I remember Monolith Soft having Xenoblade 3 done months before it launched, so Nintendo was able to switch its release date with Zelda TOTK, which needed a bit more polish.

There was plenty of Zelda though. One Switch 2 Edition of BotW/TotK and a whole new Warriors game on top of that.

Mainline Zelda was never on the table.

Yeah, but let's not pretend like the game isn't 9+ years old.
So? Monolith Soft put LOT OF improvements and add new story chapter and still doesn't change the fact the game is so fucking good.

I have 100% trust on Monolith Soft to release killer game on Switch 2......let them cook.

They are dripfeeding games like they usually do. We'll get more details on the currently annouced tirles on summer and a few bread crumbs for Next year as well. But they rarely announce anything that is relasing in more than 8 months.

Yeah, compared to the Switch presentation, it had Xenoblade 2 and Fire Emblem Warriors
Xenoblade 1 released in Japan in 2010. At the time of the OG Switch presentation, Xenoblade 2 was at least five years in the making. These things, they take time.
Also, it was a very niche IP that had barely released in the US thanks to popular request. Let's not rewrite history and fool ourselves into thinking it was already a firm reason to get a Switch in 2017.

What did people expect? For Nintendo to reveal a two-year lineup when unveiling a new system? People seem to have forgotten how barren the OG Switch release window actually was. Apart from Zelda, it had Snipperclips, 1-2 Switch, and a port of fucking Street Fighter II.

A Xenoblade was released just 15 days ago... It was obvious that he wasn't going to present anything. Now it's true that there's no real new JRPG in the bunch....

Not really, Nintendo didn't show any of their Q4 titles (aside from Metroid which is not a Switch 2 game), there should be a direct in June that will show at least 3D Mario for the end of the year, I am not saying we will get Zelda but we might get a Fire Emblem reveal so don't get that bummed yet.

Doubt it. Will be getting nee Zelda games sooner than you think.

You'll play a new Xeonblade and Fire Emblem before Intergalatic.

It's obvious they saved their games for later, they have Directs and now Nintendo Today. They are changing the way they communicate news.

Hey I hope so! I mean I have plenty of games to play in my backlog, but thinking that we may have to wait another 5 years for a big Zelda adventure makes me sad.

I hope a new Xenoblade will hit next year. Ah well…

You want a yearly Zelda? lol they showed a new Zelda dynasty warriors.

Sure. And I hope its a good game.

But my experience with those dynasty warriors type of games has been terrible in the past.

Edit: now if it was a Zelda tactical RPG, I would be interested lol

Same with Fire Emblem Engage, which was mid compared to Three Houses, so whatever.

Still, this is a major console release. Cant fault the guy for expecting a system selling flagship series or three to put out.
