At first i thought it was going to be Control 2 but it ended up being another dull GAAS game and I'm tired of Multiplayer games. Give me a well written single player story game any day.

This one has been known about for a couple years. I can't remember the details of how it came to public knowledge, but it was expected. I remember thinking as soon as I heard about it "This is a waste of time. Please give me Control 2."

Hey a L4D kinda game with Control aesthetics could be pretty cool.

Still, not what I would expect from Remedy. Hope they don't have money trouble after AW2 because this smells of quick cashgrab to me.

Why the negativity here? People here don't like multiplayer?
There are TONS of multiplayer games. And Remedy is not know for that, they are know for single player games with incredible stories which is the total opposite of this.

There are also TONS of singleplayer games. And so? They can't take risks? Maybe they could add those incredible stories to a co op experience, a bit like Left 4 Dead.

Sometimes it seems a bit like a circle jerk to hate on stuff like this here.

They already get me uninterested on the first few seconds. They lost me when they showed the gameplay and weapons. Boring generic crap.

If this is all PvE honestly it might be nice to play for a bit on GP. I'd never buy it, but I played like 300 hours of Exoprimal. If I can hop on with some randoms and play something fun, it might be alright.

Who the hell named this game for fuck sake?

sometimes it just feels like remedy is actively trying to not make money

Control is not even that widely known and you call the co-op mode from that game fbc:firebreak?

They absolutely can take risk, just don't blame the fans after it bombs. Better option would have been to include this with Control 2 to test the water with multiplayer and include the community in what can and can't work in that universe.

Or maybe stick to what you are good at? When I think about Remedy, first thing that comes to mind is not 3 players coop shooter. And it's not like they lack creativity yet this seems like GTFO x Fortnite. Nobody's asked for this, we want Max Payne Remake and Control 2.

This looking generic as fuck doesn't help either.

I like that Northlight finally gets used for a first person title - Crossfire X Campaign mode nonwithstanding - And i can definitely see some Control-esque visuals in there.

But it Looks. So. Mindboggling. Boring. Even if its a pure L4D clone, the gameplay loop looks like Concord.

So if its L4D, please be a mid-tier budget game. I really don't want a studio as epic as Remedy turn to the kind of stuff that nearly killed Starbreeze (Raid: World War 2, for instance. Or the 1000s of DLC for Payday 2).

Having said that: It could be a good benchmark title, its Northlight after all.

EDIT: According to this: https://game8.co/articles/latest/remedy-talks-of-condor-a-control-spin-off-game

  • Control spin-off title
  • For PC, XSX, PS5
  • Budget of 25 million
  • Service-based Fixed price game, so kinda like Payday 2?
If true, this might work.

There is absolutely nothing unique about that. I couldn't tell you the difference between that any any other of the these types of games.

Guess we still have a few more megaflops to go before these work out of the system.

Meanwhile: GotY candidate Alan Wake 2 has yet to become profitable.

I immediately knew this was a cashin when you said new Remedy game in 2025 without even looking at the game.

Can't leave that money on the table can we folks?

I wouldn't be 100% sure about that just yet. Looks like you're basically an enemy grunt in Control doing PvE in teams of 3. I'd expect lots of weird gravity shit. Some moments with cool lighting. The more I think about it, the more the concept grows on me.

this was semi-announced to be a thing years ago btw.

remedy back then said that they are working on Control 2 and a control Multiplayer spinoff.

I know you're the king of bad takes and you're only looking for money, but thank goodness Remedy is smarter and knows it will pay off in the long run (just like it did with Control).

Go play Concord instead of loosing time... OH WAIT THAT'S TRUE YOU CAN'T

Another cookie cutter hero shooter game.
What about this is a hero shooter in any form?

It looks like an ok Left 4 Dead style co-op game and I don't see anything wrong with that as we don't get a lot of those. Not sure the huge negative reaction here as I'm just happy it's not a BoarderLands style looter shooter, Overwatch style Hero shooter or Fortnite style battle Royal.

I might be reading too much into it. But having epic and ps pass on it for marketing makes me think they aren't expecting this to be huge.

I like controls lore and remedy but I'm not sure about this. I imagine it's one of those "to keep the lights on" projects

So... let me think, that is, none of their games turned out to be commercially profitable and did not pay off (We are not talking about the times of Max Payne). And they decided to make a quick buck by making a Co-op first-person shooter? Given that the number of online shooters that have recently ruined or worsened the financial situation in studios up to closure is growing exponentially, a very risky move on their part.

I don't quite understand why they would take such a risk, and for what purpose, or is the financial situation in Remedy so bad?..

Looks like Deep Rock with Control aesthetics mixed in or something. I like Deep Rock but that's already Deep Rock. Ain't nobody gonna play a knockoff just like nobody played Concord because it was a day late and a dollar short to the trend chase goal.

Looks incredibly uninteresting to me and I play MP games regularly.

Feels like they missed a beat not making this a co-op X-files style game, 3 people in suits and tie are sent off to procedurally generated altered world events, basically a plethora of SCP like things with like an investigation phase, a capture phase and an extraction phase. Each time with different modifiers to change up the gameplay, think of like a destiny nightfall or raid.

SCP/Backrooms vibe is what they should have gone with, but the brain-rot trailer with that music? Not selling it.
