Firebreak previews are now live

I keep watching footage of this because I liked Control but I don't get it. Control's combat but with more boring weapons, in first person, none of the movement and worst of all, none of the powers that made Control stand out?

The enemies in Control are annoying bullet sponges without hurling debris at them and what not and that's what this looks like. Tedious waves of chaotic bullet sponge shooting in bog standard FPS gameplay with wimpy weapons? I don't get it.

bad movies endless trash GIF

I've been very interested in this game, but: No bot-fill for missing players.

That's a real bummer. I was hoping this would be a game my son and I could play together, without having to matchmake with strangers. I don't think I'll bother with this if that's their path forward.

Nothing about this game makes sense. But those previews seem promising, hopefully it makes them money and hasn't just been a massive waste of resources.

I feel like there's no way this is going to be a hit, but I still really want to play this regardless. Remedy can do no wrong IMO

What a cash-in waste of gaming resources, I cannot believe it.

I guess with AW2 doing poorly saleswise they need a cash cow. I played every bit of Alan Wake 2. Mediocre. Comparing it to Silent Hill 2, there is no comparison. Silent Hill 2 was far better. AW2 has the most rushed ending/back end of any game I've ever played. The whole last section in the
mind palace
was so obviously a truncated ending that I could not believe what I was seeing or doing. You can actually feel the exact second this game ran out of budget.

DOA within 6 months.

Im a huge Remedy fan but.........I dunno if i see this going places.

Note. I didnt believe in HellDivers 2, so I would love to be wrong because I want Remedy to keep improving this engine and keep producing games.
So if this bombs hopefully they arent too deep in the hole as they are self publishing and are in theory quite flush with cash.

The difference for me with HD2 is I at least saw videos and thought man this actually looks cool. Everyone would say that after actually watching a video of the game. With this one I'm just like eehh looks ok.

Yeah I get ya.

Helldivers looked like fun when we saw gameplay of it.

This one does seem a bit ifffy.
And the live dev dive they did some time back really didnt sell the game to me, i dunno if they were bad players or what, but everything they showed seemed so........like why would i be playing this?

In a weird way, the whole game felt like it was the multiplayer mode of a real game....but in this case it is the whole game.
It would be like the next Gears game showing us a bunch of Horde mode stuff and saying this is the whole game guys.

A lot of cool concepts, and def an amazing world, i just need a real hook to completely sell me on the title.

But it will be a fun 6 months.

Same goes for things like Aliens Fireteam Elite, World War Z, Starship Troopers Extermination, etc. Not every co-op thing needs to be a live service with endless amounts of content.
not fun for remedy.

I cant believe Remedy is wasting time and resources to do this
I'm very sure this is perhaps the cheapest investment with potential for an immense return scenario.

They already had the CONTROL assets and whatnot build. If they can structure to make sequels cheaper than their last output then I would say they spent relative pennies on this considering they know this will die soon.

Remedy's first multiplayer game perhaps ?

-Floaty controls

-Zero combat and shooting feel - you might as well be shooting at cardboard boxes

- Boring, uninteresting gameplay loop

- The esthetics are A-OK since this is basically Control

PS5

I'm gonna pass

this but still lol

So now that this test is over and i couldnt care less playing this again.
I played one full round on SeriesX.

- The gameplay felt clunky and stiff.
- Artstyle is a bit more ugly Control
- SUPER boring and generic enemies
- Feedback for shooting at things was teeerrible
- Felt like im shooting boxes and not doing any damage
- Feedback for taking damage was also ass
And many more negative impressions.

Sry but this will bomb hard. I recommend to get Elden Ring Nightreign over this.
